Experience the beauty of winter at Qingdao Olympic Sculpture Cultural Park

Qingdao Olympic Sculpture Cultural Park, formerly known as Century Park, is located in Chengyang District. It is a comprehensive park that combines elements of nature, art, and sports. As a co-host city of the 2008 Beijing Olympics, Qingdao created a series of Olympic sculptures in Century Park to promote Olympic culture. On a sunny weekend, I took Metro Line 1 to the cultural park. As I strolled through the park, I was captivated by the sculptures that added a touch of vitality to the park. Although more than a decade has passed, the Olympic sculptures have preserved the Olympic spirit and frozen time. I am also fond of the park's landscape design, which seamlessly blends mountains and water. The park features Xiling, Beishan, and Nanqiu, as well as rocky beaches. Although the flowers and trees in the park have lost their vibrant colors, they exude a simple beauty that is free from embellishments. The spruces stand tall and proud, the Chinese hackberries remain steadfast, the pagoda trees intertwine, and the bamboo groves are full of life. The vines and creepers display their unique postures, while the southern lake is as enchanting as a sapphire. The stream flows gently like a bird, and the occasional red and yellow maple trees seem to bid farewell to autumn. Lying on the boat deck on the pebble beach, I watched the shimmering lake and felt the warmth of the winter sun on my body. Perhaps only in early winter can one truly appreciate the tranquility and leisure of life, just like the rings of a tree.
