2024 Travel Summary | If you can't travel alone, then let's go together

Finally, this year, I turned my parents in their 70s into reliable road trip buddies. We drove into the sunset together, and traveled under the stars and moon together. There were thrilling journeys, and hilarious misunderstandings. We saw the beautiful landscapes of our country, and tasted the flavors of the streets and alleys. Our lives have never had just one template. In our 40s, we no longer pursue absolute freedom. We accompany each other when we can. Understanding life and the world is a lifelong lesson. Don't be obsessed with the future, live in the moment. This is how we can reduce regrets. This year, I took my parents from the spring scenery of southern Anhui, to the fireworks and faith of Fujian, to the ancient charm of Shanxi. We saw development and imbalance with our own eyes. We saw history and culture we didn't know about, and people living hard in small towns. We are so different, yet so similar. My mom said, every Buddha statue in Shanxi is different, just like ordinary people, they all have their own stories. My dad said, our country is neither that good nor that bad, it's just too eager to develop. I said, this year's New Year message from Zhejiang is great: "Respect what I can't do, do what I can."
