Suzhou's 57th Garden

Suzhou's 57th Garden: Gaoyi Garden Gaoyi Garden was built in the Baoli period of the Tang Dynasty. It was originally the Baiyun Temple, and was later rebuilt as the Fan Wenzhenggong Merit Institute. Gaoyi Garden was built on a mountain, with five courtyards rising in height. In the 16th year of the Qianlong period, Emperor Hongli made his first southern tour and stayed at Tianping Mountain. He heard about Fan Zhongyan's noble character and deeds of "worrying before the people and enjoying after the people" and was deeply moved. He took the poem of Du Fu "Resigning the first place to the high righteousness, looking at the picture and remembering the ancients" and wrote the three characters "Gaoyi Garden" to show his high integrity.
