Mausoleum of Emperor Minh Mang: A Tranquil Masterpiece
#vietnamtrip #hue
The Mausoleum of Emperor Minh Mang near Hue is a serene and stunning testament to Vietnam's imperial architecture and landscape design. Built between 1841 and 1843, this mausoleum perfectly balances natural beauty and man-made artistry, reflecting the emperor's Confucian ideals. Unlike the often crowded historical sites in China, this place exudes a quiet tranquility, allowing visitors to fully appreciate its harmonious layout of pavilions, temples, and bridges set amidst lush gardens and reflective lotus-filled ponds. Walking through the complex, I was struck by the intricate details of the architecture and the thoughtfulness of the design, which seemed to create a peaceful dialogue between humanity and nature. It’s a hidden gem, offering a moment of reflection and admiration far from the bustling crowds.
Around Hue Citadel
Exploring Hue Citadel offers a quiet and calming experience beyond just visiting the Imperial City.
You can enjoy taking photos near the Vietnamese flagpole or find a cozy café to relax and watch life pass by. Hue is known for its royal tea—a delicious and nutritious drink made from local herbs. Sitting at a café in front of Ngan Gate, we sipped tea, chatted, and enjoyed the beautiful old architecture around us. The golden sunlight and gentle breeze made it even more enjoyable. The peaceful atmosphere and historical surroundings helped us connect with the rich history of Hue, creating a memorable experience in this tranquil city.
Great Vibes at Hue Walking street
Walking around the streets at night is a fantastic way to experience local culture and cuisine. One of the liveliest and most beautiful spots in Hue is the Walking Street, located along Vo Thi Sau and Pham Ngu Lao Streets.
Start from the Huong River and head deeper into the streets to discover famous eateries, cafes, and street food like Bun Bo, Com Hen, Che Hue, Banh Beo, and more.
In the Western Street, just raise your phone and you'll instantly capture a picturesque moment. The shops here are neat, vibrant, and beautifully decorated, ranging from modern to traditional styles. Each corner will surprise you, taking you from Hanoi’s Old Quarter to the vibrant streets of Hong Kong, Korea, or China.
If you're into the lively bar scene, make sure to stop by DMZ Bar & Restaurant – a long-standing bar with a romantic view of the Huong River.
Sipping on a cold glass of Huda draft beer, nibbling on some snacks, and watching the bustling streets is truly an unforgettable experience in Hue Walking Street. We had a wonderful night filled with delicious food, Hue’s signature Huda beer, and the view of the street shimmering in the light drizzle.

#100 Travel Styles
📍2024 Da Nang Travelogue #53, Hue Province, where you will regret going and not going
📍Trade name: Hue Province
📍Travel date: January 2024
📍Address: Thua Thien Hue, Huế, Vietnam
There is no shade in Hue Province, so you must bring an umbrella. The entrance fee to Hue Province is 200,000 VND (about 18,000 KRW) to see only Hue Province, and there are various packages. For example, if you combine the package of Hue Province-Minh Mang-My Dinh, it will cost 420,000 VND (about 23,000 KRW). I heard that it would be hard to see all of Hue Province, but when I actually went there, I thought it would be hard to see all of Hue Province, so I bought the 200,000 VND (about 18,000 KRW) entrance fee. The weather was so good that it was scorching hot that I couldn't see every corner. Even if you look at it roughly, it's hard. However, for those who are interested in the palace, I recommend the package. However, for those who are not that interested in the palace, I recommend the 200,000 dong (about 18,000 won) ticket. After seeing the palace in the middle, you can go out for lunch, eat, and come back to tour the palace. And the Korean audio guide that explains the palace in Korean costs 100,000 dong (about 5,000 won), but you only listen to it for about 3 places at first and don't use it much. Just put it in the audio guide return box when you leave the palace.
📍Conclusion: The palace is worth seeing once, and if you have difficulty walking because it is so large, I recommend paying the 200,000 dong (about 18,000 won) entrance fee~!!

There is a saying that you will regret going to Hue and regret not going. I prepared it because I thought it would be perfect for taking my in-laws. I purchased transportation online, and I booked the VIP seat, which is the best seat, for a round trip of 170,000 VND = about 9,000 KRW in a 9-seater van that looked like it had just been selected. They picked me up at my hotel and dropped me off at my hotel when I went back, so it was convenient. It took about 3 hours, and they picked up guests in the middle. I left a note asking to be dropped off at Vincom Plaza Hue, so I got off at Vincom Plaza Hue and walked to the Hue Palace ticket office. It takes about 25 minutes to walk, but it wasn’t that difficult because I walked slowly while sightseeing. After seeing all of Hue Citadel, I ate, had tea, and returned to the main entrance of Vincom Plaza Hue at 5 PM. I was there 30 minutes early, but they said they arrived a little after 5 PM. If you calculate the cost of seeing Hue Citadel, it was 9,000 KRW for a round-trip pick-up vehicle + 200,000 VND (about 18,000 KRW) for the entrance fee to Hue Citadel alone = about 20,000 KRW. If you look at the Hue tour packages sold by travel agencies, they say it costs about 50,000 KRW for a vehicle + English tour guide + 1 bottle of water per person + lunch + Hue Citadel and Khai Dinh Tomb entrance fees. Although travel agency tour products are more convenient, I like to take the initiative myself~
📍Conclusion: It's also cheap and okay to buy a car ticket online, then buy an entrance ticket at the Hue Castle ticket office and tour the Hue Castle~

[Vietnam🇻🇳] Visit the ancient city known as the Kyoto of Vietnam!
Hue, the last dynasty of Vietnam🇻🇳
Hue was the capital of Vietnam in the past, prospering as a dynasty for 150 years! The ancient city of Hue, with its many historical buildings, is a place that is also called the Kyoto of Vietnam🪷
The historical buildings of Hue were the first in Vietnam to be registered as a World Heritage Site🎖️.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hue's tourist attractions are widespread, and we visited the main spots in one day🚗.
🚌Da Nang → Hue Travel time about 3 hours📍Imperial Tomb of Khai Dien🍽️Lunch📍Hue Imperial Palace📍Tien Mu Pagoda🚌Hue → Da Nang.
The schedule is like this🗓️🔍
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The Hue Imperial Palace, which incorporates Chinese style, and the Khai Dien Imperial Tomb, which was influenced by French art. Even though it's the same city, Hue has its own unique features depending on the king who built it, so it's very interesting to visit 🔭
Hue also has a background as a fierce battlefield during the Vietnam War. Most of the destroyed buildings have been restored, but some still have scars that remain, which made me think about the tragedy... 🕊️.
✈️There are direct flights from Japan to Da Nang, and in addition to Hue, there is also Hoi An, which is famous for its lanterns, near Da Nang 🌜Both can be reached from Da Nang as a day trip, so it's easy to get around by using Da Nang as a base to travel around the surrounding cities◎! .⚠️ Hue was hotter than Da Nang or Hoi An and it was hard to walk around, so don't forget to stay hydrated and be careful 🫙💦.

Visiting the historic castle in Hoi An, Vietnam, was a wonderful and interesting experience. When I arrived at the place, I was captivated by the beauty of ancient architecture and the massive walls surrounding the old town. I started the tour by visiting the main gate, which marked the official start of my exploration of the historic city. I enjoyed traveling the streets and discovering old buildings, temples, and museums that reflected the history and culture of the area.
The beauty of gardens and orchards decorated with rare flowers and plants. The atmosphere was filled with tranquility and serenity, making the experience even more interesting and comfortable. In addition, I enjoyed visiting famous cultural sites such as the scoring palace, Toho Temple, and Trang T Bridge, where I learned about the history and heritage of this wonderful region. In the end, visiting the historic fortress in Hoi was a fun and informative experience, leaving me with beautiful memories and a rich knowledge of Vietnamese culture and history.
Compared to Nha Trang in Vietnam, I have a deeper affection for this little World Heritage town

Visiting The Icon Of Hue City🇻🇳
If you come to Hue City In Vietnam, you must visit this place: Thien Mu Pagoda or also known as Linh Mu Pagoda. Thien Mu Pagoda is one of the oldest and prettiest religious pagodas in Vietnam, this pagoda now becomes the Icon of Hue City. Thien Mu Pagoda is a historical place that has an unique design and there is interesting history about this pagoda.
When visiting Thien Mu Pagoda, tourists can enjoy the natural views and the architecture design. The spirituality in Thien Mu Pagoda
#wheretogo
#ancienttown
The next destination in my Hue trip is Thien Mu Pagoda, a place where ancient beauty, history, and spirituality converge. It's a cultural treasure that offers a profound and tranquil experience for visitors. My feelings about this pagoda are a deep appreciation for its enduring elegance and the sense of connection it provides to Vietnam's rich heritage.
Historical Significance: Thien Mu Pagoda is the oldest and most iconic religious monument in Hue. It played a significant role in the nation's history, serving as a center for Buddhism and a place of protest during the Vietnam War. The pagoda's association with the famous monk Thich Quang Duc's self-immolation in 1963 serves as a poignant reminder of the struggles for social justice and freedom in Vietnam.
Scenic Riverside Location: Perched on the banks of the Perfume River, the pagoda enjoys a stunning natural backdrop.
Spiritual Ambiance: The atmosphere at Thien Mu Pagoda is steeped in spirituality. It's a place of worship, meditation, and reflection.

Peaceful Moments at Minh Mang Tomb, Hue
Minh Mang is the second king of Nguyen Dynasty - the last empire in Vietnam. He was best known as a strict and determined king, who ruled the country by the laws. He also had the most children in Vietnam royal history, approximately 142 babies.
The tomb reflected the lifestyle and characteristics of the King when he was alive. The architecture was symmetrical from beginning till the end, in a harmony way with nature landscapes around.

Good onsen resort in Hue
Kawara My An Onsen Resort is a must to visit when visiting the imperial city of Hue. The resort has a beautiful Japanese garden and koi pond with rooms offering a nice view of the padi fields. Great relaxation with the onsen facilities onsite. The onsen are of great standard comparable to the japanese and it was the best experience for me. You may order food delivery if you do not want to head out for meals. The hotel also offer villas if you decide to visit here in groups and they have traditional ryokans available. Staff service is great as well. Yukatas are provided in room as well.
Minh Mang - 13 kilometers away from Hue.

Is the final piece to make Hue a perfect puzzle of warmth, harmony and romance. Stop by at Minh Mang to melt into the nature full of peace.
Visiting the nicknamed "capital of street foods" and fail to eat bun bo Hue, baby basket clams rice, Hue's flat rice flour dumplings is only undermining your experiences in Hue. Make sure to spend an adequate of time and spare your stomach enough space to try as many of Hue's street food as possible. You won't regret it.

What is interesting about Hue in the win
What is interesting about Hue in the winter?
If you love the cold and want to see the romantic rain of Hue, the winter from September to December will be the most beautiful time of Hue tourism.
You will be immersed in a peaceful life, blending in calm space, strolling on romantic streets, enjoying tasty dishes such as Corn juice, dried squid, etc.
Unlike other cities, the rain caused problems for your trip, but for Hue, on the contrary, the rains of Hue become the unique feature in this place, as Hue has the highest amount of rain in Vietnam.
Airplane: A one-hour flight with one of the several domestic airlines either from Ha Noi city or Hanoi will get you to Hue. It costs around 300,000VND - 1,000,000VND per leg if you fly from Ha Noi city.

Things to Do in Hue
Hue is actually known for its tasty cuisine, so when you are thinking of how long should you stay in the city, add at least one more day only to eat your way around.
Hue is a well-preserved city situated on the banks of Perfume River, rich on royal ancient tombs, beautiful countryside, lively atmosphere, delicious food, illustrious history, all of that very close to other popular destinations in Vietnam, such as Danang or Hoi An.
I love places where it is possible to spend time actively, learn more about the past, and eat well, it is not surprising that Hue was one of the favorite places in Vietnam.

Thien Mu Pagoda, Hue
#Vietnam Travel Thien Mu Pagoda, Goddess Temple in Hue, Vietnam Travel It is an old temple located on the Perfume River. The history of the construction of Thien Mu Pagoda In 1601 AD, according to the idea of Nguyen Hoang, the ruler of Hue (or Thuận Hóa) at that time. When he sailed to visit the living conditions of the surrounding towns And later heard the stories of the locals in this area that there is a story that someone saw an old woman (Thien Mo or Goddess) wearing a red and blue dress, sitting and wiping her cheeks. At the mountain where the pagoda is currently built This woman said that one day a great person will come to build a pagoda in this area and will bring peace to the city. #wattosann
The Tomb of The 12th Emperor!
#celebratewithtrip
Khai Dinh Tomb is a part of the Complex of Hue Monuments, recognized as World Cultural Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1993. It is located in Chau Chu Mountain about 10km away from Hue City, Vietnam. It is the burial place of the 12th emperor of the Nguyen Dynasty. It is the longest built, most expensive, most sophisticated and the strangest of all 7 royal tombs in Hue. This historical attraction is accessible by every vehicle. We rented a motorbike going there since it is the most convenient and cheaper way in Vietnam. The weather was chilly which was comfortable to explore Hue City. It is one of the most interesting cities in Vietnam in terms of culture and traditions.

Phenomenal experience
Hue is a gorgeous little city in Vietnam and the Hue Imperial City is a must see. It's a well preserved UNESCO heritage sight and its the most visited attraction in the area.
Tickets are 200k VND and well worth it. You can explore the grounds and admire the amazing architecture around. The walls are great to walk from inside and out, and a lot of the structure remains the same as it has for centuries. It's quite pretty in places too with lots of colourful flowers and green grass.
You're free to roam around or can take an additional guided tour if you wish. It's easy to get to from anywhere within the city really. Highly recommended

Hue- Khai Dinh Tomb
One historical site to visit if you are in Hue.
There is a fee of VND15k. If you wish to have more information the guide on site is always available for small fee.
Most of the features follow Chinese emperors, with a set of terracotta’s in front of the tomb.
this will leave you wondering , are there originated from ancient Chinese dynasty that are located in Hue. The feature is also based on dragon .
This is only one of the tombs which I was suggested the nicest. There are more different tombs around Hue area with different layout which I have skipped .
Not even sure then actual person is laying at tomb.
Half day inside Imperial city. Not many activities on the day we visited but this is definitely a beautiful place for exploring heritage architecture, Vietnamese history and culture. Rent the Ao dai or traditional Vietnamese costume, take a walk along ancient walls and immerse in historical moments.

Hue, The Most Walkable City in Vietnam
Hue City is by far my favorite city in Vietnam. Hue had been the capital of Vietnam during the the rule of Nguyen Dynasty from 1802 until 1945. And this is why Hue is different from any other city in Vietnam.
I took a train from Hanoi to Hue, it was an overnight train so I arrived to Hue at 6am. Sun rises early in Vietnam so it was already bright outside. Since I didn’t have heavy luggage with me, I decided to walk because the railway station is located in the city center.
I was happily surprised with existence of sidewalks in Hue and the cleanliness of the place. I walked along the main road which was heading along the riverside so I decided to visit the riverside. Days start early in Vietnam, because the riverside was full of people at 6am, people were exercising and enjoying cool morning.
After walking for a bit, I got hungry so I went to a nearby coffee shop. I chose Highlands Coffee because they sell cakes and sandwiches as well and I needed to have some breakfast.
Later on I checked into my hotel, dropped off my luggage and headed to explore more of Hue. I walked across the river towards The Imperial City, the historic royal.city. It was very nice to walk around there.
In the evening I headed over to the beer street and had dinner, the beer street was closed off from traffic and turned into a walking street, which was nice.
The next day I took a tour of the Huda Beer Factory and took a private car tour to explore all the nearby temples and tourist attractions.
In the evening I took a walk along the Perfume River and enjoyed the view of colorful bridges.
I enjoyed Hue because it is the only city in Vietnam which is great for walking.
Enjoy your trip to Hue City 😊

Hue Imperial City
My wife and I had booked at 17-day trip through Vietnam and Cambodia with G-Adventures and the town of Hue was our third location visited. Although our G-Adventures guide was excellent, local guides were provided at every stop on our tour, including Hue. I’d recommend having a guide if you want to get the best from your Imperial Citadel experience as, otherwise, you would be left wandering around blindly trying to find all the relevant history for yourself.
The tour was excellent and very interesting, and the most impressive place to visit near Hue, though I don’t think it merits the five-star reviews that some have given it. Each to his/her own I suppose, and that’s the beauty of travelling, in that we all see things from different perspectives. As I said though, definitely look to go with a guide or, at the very least, rent one of the portable audio guides.
"Royal Citadel" was pretty much damaged during the Vietnam War and from its 160 buildings, only a dozen survived. It is a shaddow of what it once was, but still beautiful and deserving a visit by all those traveling in and around Huê, a Unesco appointed, in 1993, "World Heritage Site"! Enjoy!
An Abandoned Waterpark in Vietnam
Ever wanted to hop in the mouth of a dragon? Well you can at this abandoned waterpark located in Hue, Vietnam!
It’s a bit of a trek to get here but the grounds are absolutely massive and you can explore for hours!
The original plan was for this to be Vietnam’s largest theme park but the project got scrapped a few years ago for unknown reasons. Today it’s a cool place for in the know tourists to explore for a small fee to the guard on duty 😉
