A must-visit destination in Okinawa is the Churaumi Aquarium, one of the world's largest aquariums. It's a place where you can encounter a vast array of fish and marine animals. It offers a glimpse into the beautiful mysteries of the sea and is highly recommended for anyone traveling to Okinawa. The opportunity to see the gigantic whale sharks makes it a truly unique aquarium experience.
Okinawa's BEST Aquarium
Exploring this aquarium was an absolute delight for our family. We were mesmerized by the captivating displays, which beautifully showcased a diverse range of sea creatures in their natural environments. Witnessing the graceful presence of the whale shark up close was a particular highlight for our children, and the multiple viewing spots provided unique perspectives throughout our visit. Not only was the experience both educational and entertaining, but it also left us with lasting memories of the ocean's wonders. As a helpful tip, just before reaching the souvenir shop at the end of the aquarium, there's an opportunity to have your photo taken and receive a complimentary printed copy along with a calendar. Additionally, there's the option to purchase a regular-sized print and a digital copy, which we couldn't resist due to their irresistible charm.
Wish I could visit Ocean Park's aquarium in HK as well!

Okinawa Attractions: Kouri + Churaumi
1. Kouri Ocean Tower
Address - 538 Kouri, Nakijin, Kunigami District, Okinawa 905-0406
Highlights - “Observation tower overlooking the sea.” Pictures do not give Kouri island justice. Tower is beautiful by itself but I think the ocean is the prettiest. Standing by the tower and seeing the bright blue of the ocean is a sight to see.
Rating - 4.2
2. Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium
Address - 424 Ishikawa, Motobu, Kunigami District, Okinawa 905-0206
Highlights - The aquarium is actually located inside a large park area with other great attractions. The aquarium was once considered one of the biggest aquariums in the world. If you ever visit, you will notice that the place holds a variety of different marine animals and species. It can be very picturesque as well!

Say Hi to Whale Shark-san
#2023TravelWish
This is the Churaumi aquarium located in Motobu town, Okinawa. Travelling by car would be an easier choice but there are are also buses that you can take from the airport. I don’t know why but it just feels very therapeutic just to sit there and look at the large Kuroshio sea aquarium, looking at them swimming around. Also do catch their feeding time too! It’s interesting to watch. There is also beluga whale and dolphin show~ They are just too cute! There is also a small park and a sea view to enjoy~
I wish that I could visit more aquariums in the future
Okinawa trip
My friend and I went to Okinawa. It was an amazing trip! the best part is Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium. There are different kind of species. I also recommend for family trip. The Aquarium is well-organized and clean. The city is also very nice. It is somehow different from other cities in Japan, in term of the styles and building. However, Amazing authentic Japanese food are still around the corner! We went there only 3 days but I think we got all the places in our list. We rent a car and drove around the city which is very convenient.
We booked a hotel very close to Aquarium As mentioned above, this place is amazing!#gooutside #staycation #passionpassport
Churaumi Aquarium
The aquarium is far from the airport but worthy to visit.
You need to take the tickets at the domestic arrival hall. Luckily it is only a few minutes away from the international arrival hall.
The Kuroshio Sea is incredible and you can take some really good pictures there. The way that the whale sharks eat is really interesting.
It’s a nice aquarium; however, I expected a little bit more given the reputation for being one of the better aquariums in Japan.
They can certainly expand on the food(restaurant) selections.
#summervacation
#tripaway
The tickets are not cheap, but the aquarium is actually pretty incredible. Also, there is loads to do outside as well. See the dolphin show, feed the turtles and dolphins, play at the playground, walk the gardens.
#tripaway
The aquarium introduces you to the mystery of Okinawa’s marine creatures, starting with the naturally lit Coral Sea tank, which exhibits a large selection of coral reef. Next is the enormous, dynamic Kuroshio Sea tank, where you can observe the world’s biggest fish as well as whale sharks and manta rays, which, in a world first, the aquarium has succeeded in breeding. And as you go deeper into the aquarium, you will encounter the Deep Sea tank, in which the which the mysterious deep sea of Okinawa is reproduced, allowing you to experience Okinawa’s entire underwater world. #wintergetaway

Okinawa Churaumi aquarium is one of the largest aqurium in the world. It housed a great collection of marine life (coral reef fish) My favorite part was the dolphin show. This is a must see place when visiting Okinawa. #merrychristmas

Okinawa is located halfway between Kyushu Island in Japan and Taiwan Province of China. It is the only island prefecture in Japan. If Okinawa is the center of the island, islands such as Miyako Islands and Yaeyama Islands form an arc around the mainland of China. It has a unique environment and a warm and pleasant climate. It is also the only subtropical region in Japan.
Okinawa-forest tunnel to the sea
Really, Motobu Town in the north of Okinawa not only has the famous Ocean Expo Park, but also a very niche attraction called Fukumulin Road. This is a hidden village surrounded by Fukumulin, with a total of 20,000+ Shurong
For more than 300 years, Fukugi was planted by the Okinawa people who lived there for the sake of moisture and wind, and over time, it formed a pleasant forest rain road. When the weather is good, stroll through it.
The sun flickers among the dense foliage, the old tree roots are intertwined, as if entering the fairy tale world of the Wizard of Oz. There are two main roads in the entire area, as well as many dense trails leading to the seaside.
The end of the lush forest tunnel is the blue sea, so the quiet picture makes people look forward to it. Many Okinawa locals will come here to take pictures of wedding dresses!
Get the other side of the blue sky and sea of Okinawa. You can also rent a bicycle at the entrance, or experience the special buffalo cart, and have fun.
The Churaumi Aquarium is widely considered Japan's best aquarium. It is the main attraction of the Ocean Expo Park on the former grounds of the 1975 International Ocean Expo in northern Okinawa Honto. The aquarium was completely redesigned and reopened in 2002.
#GiveThanks
Its still early to come back from the emerald beach. I think its better to go to Fumulin Road in the other direction. This is a very Buddhist idea, I did not expect it to be completely stunning! In fact, Motobu-cho in the northern part of Okinawa has not only the famous Ocean Expo Park, but also the very small place of Fumulin Road. It is a hidden village surrounded by forests. There are 20,000+ buckwood trees over 300 years old. It was planted by Okinawa people who lived there for the sake of moisture and wind. Over time, a pleasant avenue was formed. When the weather is good, strolling between them, the sun shimmers in the dense foliage, and the roots of the old trees are intertwined, as if walking into the fairy tale world of the Wizard of Oz. There are two main roads in the whole area, as well as many small roads leading to the sea. The end of the lush forest tunnel is the blue sea, so the quiet picture makes people look forward to it. Many Okinawa locals will come here to take a photo shoot!
In addition to the forest landscape, there are many family hotels and restaurants in the entire Fumulin Road area. Their styles are often Japanese-style and early-morning. They are simple but have their own characteristics. Photographing is also very beautiful. You can get blue sky and blue water outside the sea. The other side. You can also rent a bicycle at the entrance or experience the characteristic buffalo car, and have fun.
