Osu Shopping Street in Nagoya is an extensive shopping area featuring a wide variety of shops, each with its own unique characteristics and products. How can you visit Nagoya without going to the Sky Promenade outdoor observation deck? Overlooking the entire city, this is an excellent spot to enjoy the panoramic view of Nagoya. The best part is that it's not crowded at all and the price is quite affordable. When you go up, there are usually only one or two tourists, making it a perfect place for taking photos! During the day, Nagoya shines under the sunlight, with the city's skyscrapers and surrounding mountains clearly visible. As time passes, the sunset gradually paints the sky with golden and orange hues, making the city even more enchanting. I stood there quietly, enjoying this beautiful moment. When night falls, the lights of Nagoya start to twinkle, turning the entire city into a sea of stars. The various colors of the lights intertwine, making me feel the vibrancy of the city. Before entering, there's a big Legoland sign outside where staff enthusiastically ask you to make a 'C' gesture for a photo op. At first, I didn't understand why, but my companion explained that it's supposed to mimic a Lego hand 😂😂 Inside the park, most of the attractions are built with Lego bricks. It can take dozens or even hundreds of days to create a single large Lego piece, which is truly astonishing 🙈 One attraction that left a deep impression on me was Cat Cloud Busters. Players have to pull themselves up into the air and then let go to experience free fall. The minimum height requirement is 105 cm. It's exhausting but gives a great sense of accomplishment 😎 To learn more about Lego, you can visit their factory tour at FACTORY. You can see the entire production line and understand how Lego is made. At the end, you even get a Lego figure as a souvenir 😍 After playing for a while, we got hungry and went to a fast food restaurant. It's not an ordinary fast food place; the bread and fries have a Lego theme. The bread is stamped with Lego figures, and the fries are shaped like Lego pieces, making it perfect for photos ❣️

It takes about fifteen minutes to get from Oasis 21 to Bakuroichidai (Sakae), a restaurant specializing in Hida beef. When we arrived, the restaurant was already full. Since my mother was too tired, we decided to dine at Unagi, Shidaime Kikukawa on the same floor. The staff were very friendly and seated us at a spot with a view of the Nagoya cityscape (I forgot to take a photo). I ordered the 1600 yen Umaki. Although the texture of the egg wasn't particularly fluffy, it paired well with the eel. My mother chose the 3680 yen Shidaime Kikukawa Red and White Set. This set includes eel prepared in two different ways: Shirayaki and Kabayaki. Visually, there wasn't a noticeable difference, but my mother said one was saltier while the other was milder. When eaten hot, the eel was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. My mother loved both flavors. The set also included two types of sashimi, a small bowl, soup, rice, clear soup, and pickles. My father ordered the 3580 yen Ladies' Set. Since this set included jelly eel, we ordered it for my father. He said the jelly eel was very unique. The eel was prepared as Kabayaki and the set also included salad, vinegar-marinated seaweed, white rice, clear soup, pickles, condiments, and dessert, which was pineapple. After returning to the hotel, I looked up some information online and found that this eel restaurant has been around for over 90 years and raises its own eels. Some people say Nagoya is the most boring city in Japan, but I completely disagree. This 6-day 5-night family trip during the summer was incredibly satisfying! Day 1: We took an afternoon flight and arrived at Chubu Centrair International Airport in Nagoya at 8 PM Japan time. Since we had already filled out the entry forms on Visit Japan Web, the immigration process was very quick. Because we flew with a budget airline, we landed at Terminal 2 and had to walk to Terminal 1 to pick up our car, which took about 15 minutes. It was quite a walk! After picking up the car, we headed straight to the city, dropped off our luggage at the hotel, and immediately went to Isomaru Suisan for a seafood dinner. After a satisfying meal, we went back to the hotel to prepare for the next day's itinerary. Day 2: We had a Japanese-style breakfast at McDonald's, then drove to Houraiken to get a ticket for their famous eel rice. We then visited Atsuta Shrine to draw a fortune slip, spent an hour at Osu Shopping Street, and returned to Houraiken for lunch. Afterward, we took a stroll around Nagoya Castle, got new glasses at Aeon Mall, and had dinner at a local ramen shop before heading back to the hotel. Day 3: We started the day early with onigiri and sandwiches from Aeon, then drove 165 kilometers to Takayama for a local Hida beef meal. We spent over an hour exploring Takayama Old Town, then drove another 50 minutes to ride the rail bikes. After that, we drove almost 200 kilometers back to Nagoya for dinner at Sushiro, followed by a shopping spree at Don Quijote before returning to the hotel to rest. Day 4: We woke up naturally, had a local Nagoya breakfast, and drove 60 kilometers to Suzuka Circuit, where we played until around 5 PM. Due to heavy rain, we decided to leave early and drove to AEON Mall in Suzuka City for more shopping and a simple dinner at the food court. We then braved the heavy rain to drive back to Nagoya. Day 5: Still feeling full, we had a light breakfast, checked out, and moved our luggage to LEGOLAND. After dropping off our luggage, we spent the day at LEGOLAND, then returned to the hotel to rest. Later, we drove back to Nagoya for a high-quality yakiniku dinner before returning to the hotel. Day 6: We had a lavish breakfast at the LEGOLAND hotel, then headed to the Nagashima Outlet for some serious shopping. We filled our bags to the brim, refueled the car near the airport, made a final shopping stop at a nearby supermarket, and returned the car at the airport. After checking in our luggage, we visited the Flight of Dreams exhibit next to Terminal 2, enjoyed some ramen while watching a Boeing 787, and then departed for Hong Kong. So, Nagoya is definitely not boring, and we even ran out of time to do everything we wanted!
