Cijin Island: A Place with Both Culture and Nature
Cijin Island is a peninsula located in Kaohsiung City, Taiwan. It's a great spot for a short trip. There are plenty of natural landscapes and cultural arts to enjoy. You can watch the sea, hike, and take photos with many artistic decorations. The food is quite good and cheaper than in Taipei. There's also a market where you can buy seafood as souvenirs, such as dried fish and XO sauce. I find it quite nice.

Weekend getaway to sunny Cijin Island
#weekendgetaways A perfect day trip for a weekend getaway if you are ever in the city of Kaohsiung
Getting There - Take the MRT to Sizhiwan Station. Once out of the station, follow the signs that say ferry port which takes you on a 350m walk. The ferry ride takes only 5 minutes to get to the island. Both MRT and ferry ride accepts EasyCard for travel convenience.
Attractions - Beaches, Cijin Tunnel of Stars, Lighthouse, Fort Ruins, Food street, Sunset view, Biking Trails, Fishing Spots, Surfing
Food & Restaurants - Variety of Taiwanese street food selling in stalls and roadside, Seafood, Sunset Bar
An island with many attraction spots apart from the sandy beaches and tranquil waves, this is what makes Cijin Island such a unique place. Instagrammable opportunities abundant all around.
What I did was going to the lighthouse first which you can see from afar. On the way, passby a beautiful tunnel which was recently refurbished and you will come across a magnificent view of the waves hitting along the rocks. After a hike atop quite a number of stairs (not for the faint hearted), you will reach the lighthouse where there is a coffee shop for you to take a rest if needed.
After that, follow the path to the Cijin fort where you can see the remaining remnants. Acrophobias beware as the fort is quite tall in height.
Feeling tired? Follow a short path down to the beaches and rest at the local sunset bar where as the name implies, you can view the daily sunset atop the sea and beach. Perfect ending.

Cijin one-day pop-up tour
Take a day trip to Cijin
The place we will introduce to you this time is Cijin, located in Kaohsiung!
Cijin is one of the small islands located in Kaohsiung. The transportation there is very convenient. It takes about 10 minutes to take a ferry from Kaohsiung City. You can go there early to play, and then return to Kaohsiung at night to play🫶🏻
First of all, you can rent a 4-6-seater tram/motorcycle when you get there, so you can get there and you can travel around the island like this ~ However, remember to check the price. Each one does not charge and! We rented a motorcycle and a four-person tram last time for about $2000 TWD for two hours!
After successfully renting a car, we went to the Starry Sky Tunnel to check in, which was originally the military combat readiness tunnel "Qijin Starry Sky Tunnel". The tunnel is the only sea view bicycle path in the country with attractions such as the lighthouse behind the flag and the turret behind the flag. It's very atmospheric and beautiful to take pictures there!
Then we went to the Rainbow Church, the Rainbow Church location actually has two big booths the first of which is the Rainbow Church! The second one is like the frame of Japanese Torii to take pictures of the water reflection🚪 There are many people checking in that place, so you have to be patient when queuing ❤️
After the card at Rainbow Church, we went to the Windmill Park and we found that the best way to take pictures of windmills if you need to take them is not behind the windmills, but from a long distance to take many pictures of windmills This is the most beautiful and easiest to photograph.

After taking pictures we took turns driving the tram back, basically there are some beautiful sea views along the way, as long as you find the right place to park you can go down to take pictures at any time 🫶🏻 By the way, this tram is actually quite easy to operate, But it's best to teach it to some friends who have a hand and know how to recognize the road🥳
I was the theme of these places to check in, in addition to these places , I have combined the places in this small island more people check in for your reference 🫶🏻 because I went for the first time , so the route there I was reintegrated after I returned to Hong Kong! I hope the following combination will be more convenient for you🫶🏻
Route: Cijin Beach → Cijin Cycling Bike Trail → Starry Sky Tunnel → Qijin Windmill Park → Cijin Coastal Park → Rainbow Church → Cijin Starry Sky Tunnel (parking at the entrance) → Kaohsiung Lighthouse
I hope you will like this one small island tour ~If you have the opportunity to go to other places in the future will continue to share with you📸📸📸

Kaohsiung - Cijin
Make a trip down to Cijin since we are in Kaohsiung. You won’t regret heading to Cijin. The locals and very friendly, there are lots of food stalls around and it is very affordable. We explore Cijin by renting their bicycle operated by electricity. Would recommend renting their bicycle so you can explore further and more. But some areas will require walking which includes Cihou Lighthouse as you will need to walk up the slope. Pretty tiring but think the view is worth it.#kaohsiung #cijin

Let’s eat at Cijin Island!
I went to the Cijin Island in Kaohsiung, Taiwan with motorbike and ship. I took my motorbike to the ship and rode it to around the island. One of the most attractions thing is food! There are many fresh seafood stalls along the street and restaurants as well as lottery shop. Also, there is a nearby dried seafood market nearby and I also buy many of them back. The price of food is reasonable.
I really enjoy this trip!

Cijin Star Tunnel & amazing shaved ice
Part 2 of Cijin island post!
Another famous tourist spot would be to visit the star tunnel (giving us a short shade from the scorching hot sun). towards the end of the tunnel, you’ll be greeted with astonishing view of the sea, naturally formed rocks & barely any tourist as well!! We got lucky, so we were able to take as many picture as possible over there :)
When the wave crashed upon the rocks, the view was mad beautiful. Also super windy so becareful of your phone & camera!
then we cycled back to visit other attractions & we chanced upon a place with a very nice walkway upon the greenery, and some tall building which we got up and enjoyed the entire view of the island. This area was full of tourists so you won’t miss it while you’re researching on what to do at cijin island!
Finally, before getting the ferry back to kaohsiung main island, we took a break at a random shaved ice shop & they had the BEST shaved ice i had in the entire trip. The mango one was soooo sweet & refreshing at the same time. #taiwan #kaohsiung #cijin island

Cijin Island Seashell view!
A day trip to cijin island from kaohsiung Taiwan during the hot summer time!! Weather was burning & we explored the island by renting bicycles upon arriving at Cijin Island after a short ferry ride from the harbour.
I think having a bike to explore the island is the best way, however for individuals who are not the best in their fitness, you can actually rent motorbikes as well, or get taxi rides!
The entire cijin island isn’t that big, so 1 day would be enough for you to explore all the instagramable spots on the island.
This seashell attraction is one of those located at the far end of the island, however when we were there, there were no other tourists around which was good! & you’ll be able to see beautiful sea views there while you’re taking ur perfect tourist shots!
Loved Cijin island. (Part 2 will be continued) #taiwan #kaohsiung

Having Your Own Colorful Cijin Island.
The first time I visited Cijin Island in Kaohsiung, I started looking for attractions and many people recommended this small island beach that is quite close to the city. You can take the MRT to Hamasen Station (formerly known as Sizihwan) and then walk a short distance to the pier. The fare is 30 NTD for adults, and you can conveniently use an EasyCard. The ferries run frequently, every 10 minutes. Note that regular passengers and those with scooters board the ferry from different entrances, which is a unique experience. The ferry ride takes about 5 minutes to reach the island. Walking along the path feels like a small night market, where you can stop to buy some snacks and grab a bubble tea before heading to the beach. The view is truly beautiful. My friends and I watched a complete sunset for the first time, and the changing colors of the sky made us appreciate the beauty of nature, offering a temporary escape from life's troubles. From the pier to the beach, there are signs pointing to the nearby lighthouse and historic fort, which also offer great views and photo opportunities.

Cijin Island
A small island near Kaohsiung City. From Sizihwan Station Exit 1, walk 500 meters to the pier, then take a ferry to Qijin Ferry Pier, it takes about 10 minutes. Rent an electric tricycle, ride around the island and enjoy the view. There is a walking street on the island where you can walk and buy food. #kaohsiung

A Relaxing Journey on Cijin Island: Sea Breeze and Waves
Taking the ferry and feeling the cool sea breeze, I arrived at Cijin Island in Kaohsiung. As soon as I set foot on the island, I was surrounded by a strong ocean atmosphere, as if I had entered a peaceful corner far from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Strolling along the old street of Cijin, the seafood stalls and handmade shops exude a strong sense of human touch. Tasting a portion of freshly grilled squid and sipping on coconut water, the flavors are pure and satisfying. Continuing forward, I climbed up to the Cihou Lighthouse, overlooking the endless horizon where the sea and sky merge, the breathtaking view is truly refreshing.
On Cijin Beach, letting the waves gently brush against my ankles, the sunlight sparkles warmly on the sand. At dusk, the sunset bathes the entire island in golden-red light, and the tranquility and beauty of this moment are deeply etched in my heart. Cijin Island, with its sea breeze and gentle waves, offers a charming journey that relaxes both body and mind.

Seafood dishes loved by Taiwanese locals
#10월여행지원금이벤트
I visited a seafood restaurant in Cijin Island, Taiwan! This is a place that my Taiwanese friend took me to, saying it was delicious. It was really huge and they sold a variety of seafood! It was a little strange because they first exchanged money for coupons and then used those coupons to buy food!

Cijin Seaside Park
Cijin Seaside Park is a long stretch of beautiful coastal landscape along the western shore of Cijin Island. Take a leisurely stroll through interesting architectural designs while enjoying views of the Taiwan Strait. The park features long paths for walking and cycling, as well as ecological areas and Cijin Beach.
Walk on the bridge that extends into the sea, take your children to the playground and other spacious play areas, soak in the relaxed atmosphere, and breathe in the salty sea air. Let the kids climb and play to their heart's content for hours.
Stroll on the sands of Cijin Beach while enjoying the sea view. Look for surfers heading towards big waves to practice their skills. Have a picnic or enjoy fresh seafood from the beachfront restaurants. This area is renowned as a sunset photography spot, offering a romantic evening with your loved one as you watch the sun set into the golden horizon.
Immerse yourself in the tranquil atmosphere, as the long stretch of beach is not crowded. The sand is soft and clean, and the water is comfortably warm throughout the year. You can buy sweet potatoes and various fresh produce from market stalls. Local products, including fresh food and crafts, are available at the street market just outside the seaside park.
Continue to the northern part of the island to see the centuries-old Cihou Fort. The Cijin Lighthouse is also a prominent structure, located at the top of an outdoor staircase. Facilities such as restrooms and showers are plentiful along the coastline.
Take the MRT to Sizihwan Station in the southwestern corner of Kaohsiung City, then take a short ferry ride to Cijin Island. Once there, walk or take a taxi to Cijin Seaside Park on the western shore of this small island.

Cijin Island: Shaded by Trees, Clear Waters
Cijin Island, a place gently caressed by time, lies quietly in the embrace of Kaohsiung. Stepping onto this land feels like walking into an elegant ink painting.
Riding a bicycle through the old streets and alleys of Cijin Island, the shops on both sides emit enticing aromas. Seafood, snacks, and handicrafts, each carrying the memories and emotions of the islanders. The gentle sea breeze whispers in your ears, and the dappled shadows of trees dance before your eyes. In that moment, time seems to slow down.
Following the coastline, the Cijin Lighthouse stands quietly in the distance, witnessing countless sunrises and sunsets, guiding the way home. Standing under the lighthouse, gazing at the boundless sea, an inexplicable emotion stirs within your heart.
