There wasn't any popup stall like how they are having now in Takashimaya. We had a lighted candle stick, a paper lamp and would celebrate mooncake festival by lighting this paper lamp which more often catches on fire. Also, our ah ma will be the one making home made snow skin mooncakes too! But times have change, now Takashimaya is having a roadshow at the basement, and you will be spoilt for choice with the different brands from the many vendors. From snow skin, to baked, crusted flakky mooncakes and even some wierd unique flavours of mooncakes too! Not sure when the roadshow will end, but get your mooncakes and celebrate our yearly tradition in Singapore ^^

At the basement of Takashimaya, there’s a lot of various authentic Japanese food. One of my favorite has to be Nakajima Suisan. The grilled fish at this shop is always so fresh and grilled to perfection! It really melts in your mouth. The bento sets also come with a generous portion of rice and soup and Japanese condiments. The ambience is alright but the tables are spaced quite close together so you might hear your neighbors’ conversations. There’s always a queue to eat at meal times so do get there early to avoid it! #christmasvibes This Christmas season, I decided to do something fun and creative—bake a cake at ABC Cooking Studio in Takashimaya Mall. It turned out to be an amazing experience filled with laughter, learning, and the delicious smell of chocolate! The class was all about making a “Merry Cocoa Nutfee Cake.” The name intrigued me right away. It combined rich cocoa with a nutty twist, making it the perfect festive treat. The instructor was super friendly and made the whole process easy to follow, even for beginners like me. If you’re looking for a cheerful way to celebrate Christmas, I highly recommend joining a baking class. Not only will you learn new skills, but you’ll also create memories and enjoy a delicious treat. I’m already planning my next visit!

#foodies The French American Bakery has two outlets; one in Arab Street and the other one in Takashimaya’s Food Hall. Since I was in Orchard, I decided to head over to their Takashimaya outlet. I had difficulties finding the bakery as it is nestled at corner and the signboard was not visible. Thankfully, I managed to find the bakery. I ordered their salmon quiche, Pistachios Cream Croissant, Nutella Cream Swirl and their Kouign-Amann. I also ordered their famous Hot Chocolate with torched marshmallows. The chocolate drink was thick and delicious! Worth the calories!

#familytrips2024 Takashimaya Shopping Center is one of the shopping centers all connected underground, with a few more shopping centers as a city below the surface. This whole underground shopping city is incredible. It is perfect for Singapore, with limited land and very high temperatures most days. They also hold events for special occasions or festivals.

#cherryblossom2024 Right in front of the Takashimaya and Ngee Ann City is a beautiful waterfall that is great for taking pictures .The grand building of both the Takashimaya and the Ngee Ann City has been one of the popular shopping mall here for the locals as well as for the tourists . There are many retail outlets choices as well as many dining options to choose from. There are light snacks bites as well as heavy sumptuous buffet meal to choose from. There is definitely something for everyone here to choose from. The mall is about ten minutes walk from the orchard train station. You can reach here via the wisma atrium walkway from the orchard train station.
