Zhishan Garden is located next to the National Palace Museum in Shilin District, Taipei City. It covers an area of 5,687 square meters. It is planned based on Wang Xizhi's writings and looks like the inner courtyard of the museum. The design blueprint of Zhishan Garden is Wang Xizhi's eight scenic spots: Orchid Pavilion, Cage Goose, Qushui Liujing, Songfeng Pavilion, Waterside Pavilion, Biqiao West, Pen Washing Pool, and Zhaohe Tingying, fully expressing the exquisite and elegant landscaping art, and A visit to the Chinese garden and the scent of books makes people think of ancient times. Capture the experience of traditional Chinese gardening, and construct an antique Song Garden scenery with a literati flavor. Some people describe the Chinese garden as like a poem with a euphemistic loop, or a long scroll of landscapes unfolding slowly. You might as well relax and wander in the ideal world of ancient literati!

Wow! The back garden of the National Palace Museum in Taipei is so quiet and beautiful!
✨I originally wanted to see the bald cypress, but I accidentally encountered Zhishan Garden. It is really super antique, and I felt like I traveled through time and space as soon as I entered.
🐟There are koi fish in the pond that you can feed and watch, and you can also watch birds. I was so lucky that day, I happened to see a night heron catching small fish for food. It was really interesting to watch it enjoy a seafood feast😂.
🌳There are lush trees🌳 and various flowers🌸 in the park. Walking along the winding path🚶♀️, you can smell the fragrance of flowers. A delicate bridge spans the gurgling water, and the stream under the bridge is crystal clear, where you can see fish swimming happily🐟. The scattered rockery⛰️ adds a touch of natural wildness.
😍I really like the quiet and peaceful atmosphere here. It is so suitable for a walk on holidays, to relax and enjoy the sun. And the point is that it is free to visit here, which is really great😎.
🕹️Zhishan Garden is closed on Mondays. The address is No. 221, Section 2, Zhishan Road, Shilin District, Taipei City.

Taipei National Palace Museum Zhishan Garden
#AsiaTravelRecord
The National Palace Museum is one of the most famous tourist attractions in Taiwan, attracting many people from all over the world, and Zhishan Garden is a Chinese garden located inside the National Palace Museum.
Zhishan Garden recreates a Song Dynasty garden using traditional Chinese landscaping techniques. The 18,000m2 site is reminiscent of a watercolor painting.
There are several ponds in Zhishan Garden, but this one is the closest to the main gate.
The name Brush-Washing Pond comes from the anecdote that Zhang Zhi, a calligrapher of the Eastern Han Dynasty, would always practice his calligraphy while looking over the pond at his home. The pond was always dyed pitch black because Zhang Zhi would wash the ink from his brush with the water.

Taiwanese Version of the Imperial Garden
📝Taiwan Travelogue Part 15: Zhi Shan Garden📝
🖼🖼🖼🖼
As the grand garden of the Taipei National Palace Museum, Zhi Shan Garden can be considered the Taiwanese version of the Imperial Garden. When visiting the Taipei National Palace Museum, one must see Zhi Shan Garden; it's truly stunning. Its design blueprint is based on the 'Eight Great Sights' by Wang Xizhi: Orchid Pavilion, Goose Cage, Winding Stream Banquet, Pine Wind Pavilion, Waterside Pavilion, Green Bridge West, Brush Washing Pool, and Crane Calling Pavilion.

Although the weather was not good on the day I visited, I still found the entire garden very beautiful and serene, and the ticket was only 20 New Taiwan Dollars, which is less than 5 RMB, making it a very good deal.
