Hotel Fort Canning (3D2N)
Super beautiful hotel, bathroom is amazing. Big tub (able to fit 2 pax)! Hotel location is near plaza sing & Dhoby Ghaut mrt but it’s abt 8-15 mins walk to hotel.
Arrived at 2.35pm to check in, By 2.53pm I’ve gotten room keys alr! Had a late checkout at 1pm.
•Once booking is confirmed you’ll have to fill up a google form for booking of facilities and breakfast booking.
*Heard many nice reviews of this place hence I tried out, maybe it’s just not my kind of style. For this
price point I felt that I could’ve stayed somewhere else*
*notes on why it’s 3 stars*
(ROOM)
Room is not as clean, soles of the feet will be dirty or dusty. Things in the room are not the cleanest or in best condition. Shower pipe leaks water, table lamp cover has a hole. (Almost everywhere is quite dusty).
(B’FAST)
Breakfast is not very worth it as it’s semi buffet style, 1 main per pax (a good variety of choices tho). Uunlimited food items are like: Salad, fruits, breads, yogurt, drinks, cereal etc.
Breakfast timings avail: 7&8am or 9&10am.
(arrived ard 9.15am for breakfast but had to wait for 10 mins or so & we had to share table w someone else as they are overly booked. staffs are not as professional and polite)
(POOL)
First night swimming booking is 8pm (can’t change earlier as they are fully booked) swimming pool lights were not switched on/ spoilt? An eerie feeling tbh.
Next day, the tiles from the pool are literally falling off/ pieces of the tiles are everywhere or just on the ground.
(no bathrobes provided)
*Not very accessible to head to the gym/pool. Have to walk a few flight of stairs, take a lift to the carpark and enter the club room & take a lift to the pool*
💲Avg. Price - $701 for 2 pax with breakfast. (SUN-TUES)
🤩Rating - 3 out of 5⭐️

Nungnung Waterfall, Bali✨
Nungnung is one of our favourite waterfalls in Bali.
It takes around one hour to reach the parking by motorbike from Ubud and approximately 20 minutes walking all the way down. Despite of the long distance it’s totally worthy to visit.
There were 6 people including us which is quite unusual in any spot in Bali.
The atmosphere is absolutely magical, we spent there around 2 hours taking photos, swimming and exploring. Highly recommended!
Admission fee: 10000 IDR

New year chillout spot
What’s really good about Sentosa Cove and the restaurants there is that the ambience is simply amazing. We ate at Sabio By The Bay, which serves tapas and grilled dishes. It was great because we could enjoy the ever-present cool breeze and watch the yachts sail in and out of the harbour. That’s an awesome view you don’t get everyday! Highly recommend this chillout spot.

Spring is here!
Jurong East Mall (JEM) is fully decked out in lunar new year decorations in preparation for the festivities! It is a super huge mall with many levels so you might take a few hours to check everything out. There are also zodiac and prosperity readings about how your year is going to be depending on which year you are born in. Have a blast of a time here!

Chinatown CNY festivities
Chinatown is undeniably the best place to visit during this festive Chinese new year season as you will find all the delicious goodies and treats galore. You can get famous Hong Kong pastries, bak kwa or barbecued meat, and traditional nian gao cakes. Not to mention the many photo opportunities with the striking new year decor everywhere you turn. A Disney lunar new year
Once the Chinese lunar new year comes around each year, the shopping malls become bustling with pop-up stores and markets. This time, it was a collaboration with Disney so all the really cute tsum tsum characters were on sale! If you’re a fan of Disney, you definitely need to drop by Junction 8 shopping mall and soak in the magical atmosphere.

Most wonderful time of the year
It was a joy to see the Christmas decorations all up in Fairmont as it really contributed to the festive mood. A clean and comfortable hotel, Fairmont has modern rooms and even smart amenities like an in-room motion sensor so that it switches off the lights when no one is inside. Staff are also helpful and approachable.

Comfort food
Every time I travel to a different country, seeing a MacDonald’s outlet usually fills me with comfort as their food is generally consistent even across countries. One of them can be found at Raffles City shopping centre near the entrance. Seating space is a little limited and the walkways are narrow though. Other than that, it’s a good place to enjoy this comfort food.

Updated mall in the west
If you are staying at Genting hotel in the western side of Singapore, one of the malls you can visit is IMM shopping mall. It has been updated with popular shops and restaurants compared to previously, like Daiso and Ichiban Sushi, so you’ll definitely be able to find something you like to eat or buy there. It is also known for having many furniture and home improvement outlets.

Movie hangout
Before watching a movie, I usually get some drinks and snacks and golden village has pretty yummy snacks. Recommend the nachos and the nuggets. Cinema seats are generally well-maintained and hygienic, very comfortable. Reasonable ticket prices as well and not that crowded in this venue. Good option for a movie hangout.

Abundance of Christmas trees
The festive mood here at Marina Bay Sands is so pronounced with Christmas tree decorations at almost every turn. They even put up a bunch of floating Christmas trees above the atrium area which looks amazing. Plenty of shops to shop at and you can even download their free-to-join membership to collect points too! Merry Christmas, all!

Classy eateries
Found along the Telok Ayer area with a nearby MRT station with the same name, this mall has a whole bunch of restaurants to check out. Very accessible as it is within walking distance from many office buildings and the main street of Chinatown. My favourite go-to restaurant here is Aston’s, which serves western grills and steaks at a pretty decent price. Grab a cup of bubble tea from level 1 too!

Sun Lim Square outdoor markets
Some of these outdoor markets really remind me of my travels to Malaysia and Thailand, where various hawkers are selling their food and products. You can get really cheap stuff like durian, cut fruit, specialty drinks and clothing. I really enjoy the bustle of walking through vibrant local markets like these, great way to experience the culture of the land.

Where to dine at NUS
When at NUS, there may not be that many choices of dining to choose from as you need to travel out from the campus. However, there is a food court at university town where you can choose from a variety of cuisines, like Japanese, Indian and so on. Great that it is all in one place and very accessible so that you can settle all your meals for the whole day.

Fresh seafood catch
Yang Ming seafood is quite a renowned restaurant and can get quite crowded during peak hours due to its popularity. It is known for its affordable and delicious fresh seafood, like fish, lobsters and crabs. I recommend that you visit this restaurant with a bigger group of friends or family so that you can order a greater variety of dishes to try!

Seasonal markets
Along one of the atriums at Paragon shopping mall, there is a seasonal Christmas market where you can get your own realistic-looking Christmas trees and decor. I really like the reindeer ones as they look very classy. In addition, you can also shop for gifts like glassware, ornaments and stuffed toys. Festive vibes from this market!

Popular western restaurant
We had to queue for quite a while to get a seat in this restaurant as it was just that popular. It’s probably because the prices here are really quite affordable for such western fare like grilled chicken and beef steak. I went with the salmon which was a comfort food for me. However, avoid the onion rings as they were mostly made of flour.
My overall rating of the experience: 4 out of 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Christmas at Clarke Quay
Christmas is a time of gifting and I was thrilled to find a Christmas market happening in the atrium of this shopping mall. I bought some earrings that were intricately made by hand, as well as scented candles as presents for my friends and family.
There runs a river through this area where you get to sit on a boat cruise at a fee to enjoy the sights and sounds along the banks. Just a festive way to spend the holiday season here and create memories with your loved ones. Highly recommend it!

For those with the gift of creativity
To get to this wonderful art store, take the escalator down once you enter the Cathay shopping mall. This store has a ton of handy materials for those who enjoy doing creative art works, like the rows and rows of water colour tubes and varieties of paint brushes. There is even a section for kid art materials, great activities for parents to check out.

Handcrafted collection displays
There is a shop in Suntec shopping mall called Myths & Legends, where they sell exquisitely crafted art pieces in the forms of different mythical characters. Amongst the sculptures of Greek gods and goddesses are also some classic Chinese emblems of good fortune and health. Suitable for those looking to jazz up their house interiors!

Christmas village market
It was very vibrant and bustling when we got to this Christmas market in front of the shopping mall. Many of the rides and attractions are more catered to children but the all-white carousel was so pretty that it really tempted me to try it out. There are a few food stalls and merchandise retailers too, highly recommend the healthy dried fruits stall with their nicely packaged products.

Christmas lights of Orchard
You can truly feel the festive spirit of Christmas here at Orchard Road with all the lights! With so many shopping malls to choose from, you will definitely be spoilt for choice. Homestay with lovely pool
Just a convenient 2-minute walk away from Nicoll Highway train station, this concourse skyline apartment is the perfect place to explore the nearby heritage attractions and malls. It is close enough to the city area as well. One of the perks is the lovely swimming pools, one for laps and another free-form leisure one. There is even a jacuzzi available under the shade. Pretty good for a stay.

Chinatown at night
It is a different experience to visit Chinatown as a heritage attraction at night. The night lights make it a very nice place to take a walk after dinner at a shopping mall or in one of the heritage shophouse restaurants. The place is bustling with life and many public transportation services do continue running until pretty late. During festive seasons, the outdoor atrium at Chinatown Point shopping mall will have seasonal displays so do check that out!

Sashimi and ramen
Located at the outskirts of the main Clarke Quay area, this restaurant specializes in Japanese cuisine in the form of donburi and ramen. They also serve my favourite sashimi. However, for the price, we weren’t that impressed with the flavours of the food. It was nice but not wow. The ambience was also not particularly warm as it was dark and messy with various furniture items placed in a haphazard manner.

Capitol Christmas market
In the weeks leading up to Christmas, Capitol organised a Christmas market in its outdoor atrium. Many vendors were selling their handmade items which looked incredible, like earrings, pouches and even faux dessert displays. There was a huge Christmas tree as well where Christmas carollers would climb onto and sing from the different tiers. Quite unique!

Flying through the air
The Canopy Flyer ride is quite thrilling as it goes quite fast and you are being hung with your legs dangling from high up. It is a short ride though, lasting maybe maximum 1min only. Wish it was longer! Can get to enjoy the views of the park from high up.
