Island-Hopping Paradise in Seychelles: A Day of Adventure, Local Flavours & Sunset Bliss
If you are looking to explore Seychelles beyond Mahé, a private island-hopping boat tour and a sunset dinner are essentials to elevate your trip! On our last day, we planned a full day of discovery, beginning with a morning private boat tour from Mahé to three stunning islands: Ile Moyenne, Long Island and Cerf Island. #holidayvacation
🏝️ A day on the water exploring Seychelles hidden gems! Each of these islands has a unique charm, and a boat tour allowed us to experience the best of each. #boattour
- Ile Moyenne is known for its incredible natural beauty and rich biodiversity. Walking around the island, you can see giant tortoises roaming freely, adding a truly exotic feel to the lush environment. #environment #tortoise
- Long Island delivered some of the clearest, turquoise waters we have ever seen. We anchored here for some snorkelling, which felt like swimming in an aquarium filled with colourful fish, coral reefs and the occasional turtle passing by. #snorkeling #coralreef
- Cerf Island was our lunch spot, where we dove inti the flavours of Seychelles! We tried locally-prepared seafood dishes - which gave us a taste of authentic island cuisine!
🌅 To end the day on a high note, we headed back to Mahé and drove to Rock Pool Seafood Bar & Grill for a memorable dinner with a view. This spot is known for its fresh seafood, laid-back atmosphere and unforgettable sunsets. The sky turned vibrant shades of orange and purple as the sun dipped below the horizon. #sunset #vacation
This day was one of the highlights of our trip to Seychelles! Between the pristine islands, the incredible underwater life and the perfect sunset at Rock Pool, it’s a day we will never forget.
Useful Tips:
- Consider a private boat tour: We found that a private tour offered flexibility, allowing us to explore each island without rushing. Plus, you get more control over your itinerary.
- Snorkel: Bringing your own snorkel gear is helpful if you want to avoid rentals and have your preferred equipment.
- Arrange lunch ahead of time: Many beachside spots on Cerf Island require prior arrangements for meals, especially if you are after specific local dishes or seafood
- Sunset: Arriving about 45 minutes before sunset gives you time to settle in, take photos and soak up the atmosphere before the show begins.
Anse Source d’Argent: Your Slice of Beach Bliss Awaits!
Ready for a day that feels like a dream? Let me take you on a sun-soaked journey to La Digue Island in the Seychelles, where the breathtaking Anse Source d’Argent awaits!
🛥️ We took a scenic boat ride from Praslin Island to La Digue, which took about 30 minutes, with the gentle waves and stunning views setting the perfect tone. Pro tip: Grab you tickets in advance, especially during peak season, for a smooth ride! #boatride #adventure
🚵 Once we hit La Digue, we rented bikes - it’s the best way to explore the island gem! From lush landscapes to charming villages, biking lets you soak in the sights at your own pace. Trust me, you don’t want to miss a single palm tree!
🏝️ Our first stop? The iconic Anse Source d’Argent! With its famous granite boulders and pristine white sand, I felt like I would stepped into a postcard. Tip: Get there early to snag the best spot and enjoy the beach before the crowds arrive!

Entrance Fee: Access to Anse Source d’Argent is around Seychellois SCR 100 (about 7 USD) which goes towards maintaining this stunning area. #heritage #environment
🐠 The calm, clear waters are perfect for snorkelling. We spotted vibrant fish and corals - it was like swimming in a tropical aquarium! If you don’t have gear, no worries; rentals are available nearby. #coral #underwaterworld
🥗 After a morning of fun in the sun, we refuelled at a besch café. You can’t leave without trying the local Creole cuisine - grilled fish and coconut curry where highlights! #localfood
🌴 We continued our biking adventure to L’Union Estate, where we learned about vanilla production and met some friendly giant tortoises. #localguides #tortoise
🌅 As the day wrapped up, we returned to Anse Source d’Argent to watch the sunset. The colours were absolutely breathtaking - definitely a moment I will cherish forever!
Final Tips:
- Pack Smart: Don’t forget sunscreen, water, and a camara to capture every magical moment!
- Stay Hydrated: The tropical heat is real, so drink up!
- Respect Nature: Keep the beach clean and follow local guidelines.
If you are planning a trip to Seychelles, La Digue and Anse Source d’Argent are must-visits. It’s pure paradise, and I promise you will leave with a heart full of memories! ✨
Tortoise Liberation Pond
Tortoise pond is one of the main attraction in Kek Lok Si Temple.
It is the first part of the temple - the liberation pond, traditionally people liberate animals to gain merit.
There are hundreds of tortoise in the pond and are of several species, including the red-eared slider turtles, the Chinese pond tortoises and the Golden Coin turtles.
Visitors can buy water convolvulus from vendor nearby to feed to tortoise.
But I feel pitty to the tortoise. I want them to let go. I think the space is too small for them.
Location: Jalan Pokok Ceri, 11500 Ayer Itam, Pulau Pinang, Malaysia

Batalang Bato, Batangas
Batalang Bato in Mabini Batangas is a charming vacation home rental, good for couples, families and friends, who wants to be surrounded by nature and get some rest and relaxation. With an amazing roof deck with lanterns and a hammock, a beautiful wooden inspired kitchen (they also have a “dirty kitchen” as filipinos would call it), tiny pool, large and comfy beds with air conditioning, kayaks, friendly helpers and a beach front. What else could you ask for? The best part is they welcomed my baby tortoise in their humble beach home. Definitely will be coming back to this beautiful place in the future and a must try for you reading this. ❤
