Norwegian Fjord Cruise: Exploring the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Sognefjord
The UNESCO World Heritage Site of Sognefjord (Geirangerfjord) in Norway is renowned for its stunning natural beauty and unique fjord landscape. A Norwegian fjord cruise offers a chance to explore this magnificent place by boat. As the vessel navigates the winding fjord, passengers can admire the steep mountains, waterfalls, and lush green scenery. Tickets for the cruise can be purchased in advance on the official website. However, if you're unsure about your schedule, you can also buy tickets upon arrival. While there is only one ferry company available online, you will find a cheaper alternative upon arrival. Due to the less favorable weather on the day of my visit, I opted for the cheaper option. The route was quite similar, though the more popular ferry was more aesthetically pleasing.
Bern Bear Park: A World Heritage Site and a Beautiful City
Bern, or Berne, boasts numerous fountains, sandstone facades, narrow streets, and historic towers. The medieval ambiance is truly unique.
Above the Bear Park, the Rose Garden offers a view from its 101-meter-high cathedral bell tower and terrace, overlooking the old town and the River Aare.
Past fortifications and bastions are located on the steep slopes beside the river. The old town has many fashion boutiques, bars, and taverns, some of which are established in ancient vaulted cellars.
The numerous cafes within the small streets attract both locals and tourists alike. Although Bern has a very developed public transportation network, it is still best to explore the beauty of this city on foot.
Bremen, Germany
Bremen is the capital of the smallest of Germany's sixteen federal states. It is the second largest port city and the fifth largest industrial city in Germany.
Bremen is the second largest city in northern Germany after Hamburg and a major cultural and economic center. The city has dozens of historical galleries and museums, ranging from historical sculptures to major art museums such as the Bremen Overseas Museum, Bremen Town Hall and the Roland Statue, which are listed as World Cultural Heritage. Bremen is famous for the fairy tale "The City Musicians of Bremen" by the Brothers Grimm, and there is a statue in front of the city hall (picture 3).
The last picture is of the Dötterling City Hotel Bremen where I stayed at that time.
