After a short visit to Mount Rigi, we boarded the cogwheel train to Vitznau, a picturesque town nestled on the shores of Lake Lucerne. Having checked the ferry schedule in advance, we ensured perfect timing to catch our ride. From the dock, the view of Lake Lucerne was absolutely stunning. The ferry journey from Vitznau to Luzern offered a tranquil and scenic way to immerse ourselves in the region's natural beauty. With seating options both on the open deck and indoors, the ferry provided a comfortable experience. As we glided across the serene waters of Lake Lucerne, we were rewarded with sweeping vistas of the Swiss Alps, charming lakeside villages, and the tranquil lake itself—a truly unforgettable experience.

The Musegg Wall, a 14th-century landmark in Lucerne, is a must-visit. Located about 15 minutes from Lucerne train station, it sits on a hill, requiring some stair and slope climbing. The 870-meter wall features nine watchtowers, four of which are open to the public for free during non-winter months.
While we visited in winter and couldn't access the wall, a local recommended walking along the outer wall for stunning views. This route offered a panoramic vista of Lucerne, Lake Lucerne, and the Swiss Alps. If visiting in summer, don’t miss climbing the watchtowers for even better views!

The Lake District village of Grasmere made famous by the romantic poet William Wordsworth is perhaps the most beautiful in all of the National park.

Sarusawa pond is located in the centre of Nara, where the local people used to chill here by sitting in the bench and enjoy the five pagoda view of Kofukuji Temple over the lake!!
Walking from the JR Nara Station, it takes around 15-20 minutes time. If you have a lot of time to spend in Nara, you can come here as well other than Nara Park or have a drink in the Starbucks that located next to it while enjoying the view.

Stand-up paddleboarding at Co Dung Lake in Hanoi was an exhilarating experience with friends. The serene setting, surrounded by lush greenery and the gentle sounds of nature, provided the perfect backdrop for a day of adventure.
We rented our boards and received a brief but helpful introduction from the staff, who were friendly and attentive. Once on the water, we found it easy to balance and paddle, enjoying the refreshing breeze. The calm surface of the lake made it accessible for all skill levels, and we quickly found our rhythm.
Paddling together, we explored the lake’s scenic spots, taking in the picturesque views and snapping plenty of photos. The atmosphere was lively, with laughter and camaraderie as we challenged each other to races and tried our best to stay upright.
As the sun began to set, the colors reflected beautifully on the water, creating a magical moment. This activity was not only fun but also a great way to bond with friends while enjoying nature. Overall, I highly recommend stand-up paddleboarding at Co Dung Lake for anyone looking for an active and memorable day in Hanoi!

We visited Grand Teton National Park in May, and to our surprise, it was still quite chilly in the morning. Our adventure began at the Craig Thomas Discovery and Visitor Center, where we learned about the park’s incredible landscapes and wildlife. From there, we headed to the park's famous lakes, including Jenny Lake, String Lake, Leigh Lake, and the expansive Jackson Lake. Each one was stunning, with crystal-clear waters reflecting the snow-capped peaks of the Teton Range perfectly, creating postcard-worthy views. Jackson Lake, in particular, stood out with its vastness and serene beauty. The peaceful atmosphere and breathtaking mountain reflections on the lakes made for an unforgettable experience, capturing the natural beauty of Grand Teton in spring.

The playground at Lake Tekapo in New Zealand is probably the most picturesque one I've ever visited. It's located outside the Four Square Tekapo supermarket, near the iconic Church of the Good Shepherd, offering a scenic backdrop of the lake and mountains. The playground features modern play structures, including slides, swings, climbing frames, and even a mini zipline. Both kids and adults enjoyed the zipline immensely! Beautiful lupin flowers were also blooming during our visit in late November.

🇨🇭 Picturesque Gunten Pier @ Lake Thun
Gunten Pier is one of the most beautiful piers that I have been to. The pier offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains and the lake, and is a popular spot for boat cruises, fishing, and relaxation. We found this hidden gem by chance after visiting the Panorama bridge Sigriswil as we wanted to try the ferry ride on Lake Thun, the largest lake in the Bernese Oberland. We took bus 25 from Sigriswil and alighted at Gunten Dorf. The pier is a short walk away from the bus stop. It can also be reached by taking bus 25 from Thun or bus 21 from either Interlaken or Thun train station. Check the ferry schedule in advance. If you have a Swiss Travel Pass, the ferry ride and bus ride are free!

Dalat continues to be a charming little hill station for me. And I say that as someone who first went there as a kid almost 20 years ago on a family holiday. Yes, it had considerably changed and developed and with most of Vietnam. But if you are able to avoid the town part. You are back to the good old holiday feel.
The town has its advantages too. Especially the market area and those walks around the lake make for a lovely evening. Something it continues to retain. That sense of simplicity in local life and especially being away from town. You're welcomed by the lack of high tech this and that which surrounds us back home. I find that refreshing. The larger bath house was not open during my visit. The guide brought me to a small restaurant next to it which had a tiny pool with hotspring water. Aek Rangat offers a natural and rustic experience so the facilities are basic. It would be good to bring your own supplies.

During my visit to Samosir Island, I spent two nights in a traditional Batak house. Despite the lack of air conditioning, the nights were comfortably cool. I had expected many mosquitoes but was pleasantly surprised to find very few. Overall, it was a delightful stay.

The room offered basic amenities, without a TV or air conditioning.
Highlights:
The most striking feature was the magnificent view of Lake Toba right at my doorstep. I woke up early to catch the stunning sunrise, which was truly breathtaking.

The stay was budget-friendly, making it an excellent choice for travelers looking for an affordable option.

One drawback was the absence of a kettle in the room. Instead, the hotel provided a thermos of hot water, which was available for a charge of 15k per bottle.
