3 Days Sailing Through Komodo Islands: A Journey into Nature’s Wildest Wonders
I recently spent 3 unforgettable days and 2 nights sailing around the stunning Komodo Islands, home to pristine landscapes, crystal-clear waters and the iconic Komodo dragons. Here’s my itinerary and some tips to help you make the most of your trip! #holidayvacation #adventure #sailingparadise
🤿 We began the journey at Kanawa Island, where the calm waters and vibrant marine life made it the perfect spot for some morning snorkelling. The beach here is pristine and the underwater scenery was teeming with colourful fish. After lunch, we headed to Komodo Island - home to the world’s largest lizard, the Komodo dragon! Walking with a guide through the national park was thrilling and seeing these ancient creatures in their nature habitat was unforgettable. Pro Tip: wear lightweight clothing and pack a camara with a good zoom lens for those dragon shots! #snorkeling #holidayvacation #komododragons
⛰️ The second day started with a challenging but rewarding hike up Padar Island. The panoramic view of its iconic three-coloured beaches is a must-see! The trek is shot but steep, so good shoes are essential. After the hike, we sailed to Pink Beach, where the sand has a unique rosy hue. #hiking
Tip: Start the Padar hike early in the morning to avoid the heat and crowds.
🐠 On the final day, we sailed to Manta Point, where we had the incredible experience of snorkelling with majestic manta rays. We wrapped up the trip with a stop at Taka Makassar, a tiny sandbar surrounded bu turquoise waters. #beachlife
Travel Tips:
- Best time to visit: April to June or September to November for fewer crowds and ideal weather.
- Boat tours: Choose a reputable operator that includes national park fees and provides good quality snorkelling gear.
- Safety: Always follow your guide’s instructions, especially near the Komodo dragons, and stay hydrated during the hike.
The journey was the perfect blend of adventure and relaxation, and I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a unique escape into Indonesia’s stunning natural landscape!
Sailing through History in Dubrovnik
Dubrovnik, known as the "Pearl of the Adriatic," truly lives up to its name. Stepping into the ancient walled city is like traveling back in time to a world of grandeur and rich history. #DubrovnikAdventures #TimeTravel
As you wander through the narrow cobblestone streets, you'll be greeted by stunning medieval architecture at every turn. The iconic red roofs against the backdrop of the shimmering Adriatic Sea create a picturesque setting that is unbeatable. Don't miss the chance to walk along the city walls for panoramic views that will leave you breathless. #CityWallsView
One of my highlights was exploring the historical sites within the city walls, especially the iconic Fort Lovrijenac. This fortress, perched majestically above the azure waters, offers not only stunning vistas but also fascinating insight into Dubrovnik's defensive past. #FortLovrijenac #HistoryUnveiled
To immerse yourself even further, hop on a sailing excursion to the nearby Elaphiti Islands. The crystal-clear turquoise waters glistening under the sun will make you feel like you're in paradise. Take a dip, go snorkeling, or simply relax on the deck and let the refreshing sea breeze revive your senses. #SailingParadise #ElaphitiEscape
When it comes to food, don't miss out on trying the local delicacy, black risotto. Made with cuttlefish ink, it may look intimidating, but its unique flavor and savory richness are truly delightful. Pair it with a glass of local Croatian wine for a perfect culinary experience. #BlackRisotto #CroatianDelights
Lastly, a word of advice: avoid visiting during the peak tourist season to fully appreciate the charm and tranquility Dubrovnik has to offer. Opt for early morning or late afternoon explorations to avoid the crowds and capture the best photos without distractions. #OffPeakMagic #HiddenGems
In conclusion, Dubrovnik is a destination that captivates with its storied past, stunning architecture, and breathtaking natural beauty. Allow yourself to get lost in its enchanting streets and embrace the magic of this Croatian gem. #DubrovnikMagic #GemOfAdriatic

Cast Away in Antsanitia
#fishing #sailingparadise Just had the most serene fishing trip at Antsanitia beach, floating on a traditional sailboat crafted by the very fishermen who helped me reel in the catch of the day. The water was so peaceful, it felt like we were gliding through a postcard. These fishermen are not only master boat builders but also expert guides. Thanks to their skillful assistance, I managed to catch a bounty of fish—and even an eel! Who knew fishing could be so thrilling and tranquil at the same time?
