Beijing Metro Line 3 Finally Opens After Half a Century
On December 15, 2024, Beijing Metro Line 3 finally opened after 60 years of waiting 🎉
I had seen the reserved mysterious platform at Dongsi Shitiao 🚉
The metro line was first proposed in the 1970s
After 60 years, it finally returned to the Beijing metro network family~
Beijing Metro Line 3, like Lines 1 and 2, is one of the earliest planned lines in Beijing
In 1956, five Soviet experts came to Beijing and guided the drawing of the earliest Beijing metro plan
When Dongsi Shitiao Station on Line 2 was built in 1971, the platform and concourse of Line 3 were reserved under the concourse
Completed in 1984, it was rated as one of the top ten buildings in Beijing in the 1980s, and the only underground building among them
I remember last time I went to Chengde, I had to take a taxi to Chaoyang Station 🚕
Now the metro is seamlessly connected to 🚄 Chaoyang Railway Station, which is very convenient 🎉
If you like taking photos, you must visit Chaoyang Station
The newly opened west square and concourse of Beijing Chaoyang Station are a bit like Daxing Airport ✈️
The Chaoyang Comprehensive Hub Transfer Station is composed of a single-layer steel box girder reticulated shell structure, which is very spectacular 😮
There are also signs of meeting points on the pillars of Chaoyang Station on Line 3
It's so convenient to meet up with friends, such a thoughtful design ♥️

Shanghai is just a 30-minute high-speed train ride away from this ancient town!
With the opening of the Shanghai-Suzhou-Huzhou High-Speed Railway, more and more hidden gems are being discovered.
Lili Ancient Town is everything I imagined an ancient town to be.
After seeing so many commercialized ancient towns, I realized how rare Lili is. There are no cookie-cutter photo spots or grilled squid stalls here. Instead, you'll find small bridges, flowing water, and traditional houses with flying eaves. You'll see women washing clothes by the river, old men sunbathing, and shop owners busy preparing lunch.
Lili's history dates back 2,500 years. As the doors and windows creak open, I cross more than 20 stone bridges and 150 alleys. The old dreams sheltered by the misty corridors fill me with energy as I immerse myself in the ancient town's rustic charm.
📍 Name: Lili Ancient Town, Wujiang District, Suzhou
💰 Admission: Free (some attractions charge a fee)
🚘 Self-driving: 1 hour from Suzhou city center
🚄 High-speed train: 30 minutes from Shanghai Hongqiao to Suzhou South Station
Take a taxi or bus for 20–30 minutes to reach the town.
🎁 [Before you go]
⚠️ To celebrate the opening of the Shanghai-Suzhou-Huzhou High-Speed Railway, high-speed train passengers can exchange their tickets for a free pass to the scenic area at the Lili Visitor Center within 7 days of arriving in Wujiang. You can also use your train ticket to get discounts at hotels, restaurants, and more.
🎞️ Lili Ancient Town was a filming location for the TV series "Good League Member".
📸 If you want to take photos in traditional Chinese clothing or a qipao, you'll need to bring your own clothes and makeup, as there are no costume shops in the ancient town.
🗺️ The ancient town is small, but the shops are full of surprises. Behind the small storefronts, you'll find intangible cultural heritage crafts, private museums, and time-honored restaurants. Take your time to explore.
🏨 Accommodation: The ancient town has mid-range and high-end homestays. We stayed at Lixuan Academy, which offers great value for money in the off-season. There are many chain restaurants and drink shops nearby, and food delivery is very convenient.

The newly opened Thai massage in Haikou is both affordable and high-end
The newly opened Thai massage shop in Haikou
Fresh Thai Lanna resort style, even the scent is so pleasant
I thought a high-end spa would be expensive
But you can enjoy traditional Thai massage starting from 88 yuan
Extra time and specific areas can be added and charged separately, which is very considerate
The masseuses are all from Thailand, with techniques and services that are satisfying
Different from the traditional Thai massage shops, Shu Chuan Lanna has a fresh and simple environment
There are private rooms, as well as the Thai 'big common bed' tatami
Traditional Thai massage, herbal hot compress health care, Southeast Asian energy stone SPA, foot massage plus shoulder and neck
I had the energy hot stone spa, essential oil application, full body massage, and Thai stretching
You can choose essential oils according to your preference: white tea, rose, lemon, lavender, chamomile
My personal favorite is white tea, with a fresh natural tea aroma accompanied by a light floral scent
After the massage, they also provide Thai desserts and flower tea
It's a complete relaxation from body to soul

Shanghai | This place is absolutely beautiful this week.
Last year, I visited Huakai Haishang Ecological Park for the first time, and I couldn't forget the beautiful scenery there. This year, I decided to go again. From early November, the kochia began to change color, with red, orange, yellow, and green interwoven together, looking both lovely and unique. By mid-November, although most of them had turned red, they were still colorful. The whole garden was surrounded by warm tones, like a fairy tale world.
There are many viewing platforms and winding paths in the park. You can overlook the whole garden from a high place or get close to the charming kochia. In addition, pink muhly grass and other colorful flowers are scattered among them, which are very suitable for taking photos.
Huakai Haishang Ecological Park is located in Xiujing Village, Zhujing Town, Jinshan District, and is open from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm every day. The ticket price is CNY 30, which can be purchased online in advance or on-site. In terms of transportation, it is recommended to take the high-speed train from Shanghai Hongqiao Station to Jinshan North Station, which takes only 18 minutes and costs about CNY 22. After leaving the station, it is less than 3 kilometers from the destination, and it costs about CNY 20 to take a taxi.
Must-stay hotel in Singapore | Chill moments in the urban rainforest
It was my first time visiting Singapore during the rainy season
The tropical rain washed the city streets, making them feel especially fresh
During this short trip, I stayed at Pan Pacific Orchard
Enjoying the greenery and tranquility in the bustling city
The hotel was designed by the renowned Singaporean architecture firm WOHA
Integrating urban high-rise buildings with tropical natural landscapes
The vegetation coverage exceeds 300% of its land area
The forest terrace, beach terrace, and garden terrace create different natural landscapes
You can feel the lush greenery extending infinitely into the sky on every floor
The hotel opened in 2023, and both its exterior and details
Perfectly interpret the green lifestyle
I highly recommend the Beach Terrace Balcony room type
The palm trees and beach-like pool design give a strong vacation vibe
The beach terrace is also perfect for taking photos
The hotel is located on Orchard Road, one of Singapore's core business districts
Malls like ION and Palais Renaissance feature various luxury and local designer brands
You can walk along the street to shop and eat after leaving the hotel
It's a 10–15 minute drive to attractions like Merlion Park and Gardens by the Bay
Of course, you can also enjoy the hotel without going out
The signature restaurant Mosella offers Mediterranean flavors with local ingredients
The menu is very diverse, and every dish I ordered was delicious
In the evening, you can have a drink at the champagne and oyster bar Florette, which has a great garden terrace atmosphere
It's worth mentioning that the hotel's St. Gregory Spa is private and cozy
It not only offers traditional treatments like Chinese massage and Javanese massage
But also advanced techniques from Europe and Asia
If you want to quickly relieve fatigue after getting off the plane, you must schedule a session
I had a great travel experience in Singapore this time
Visa-free Singapore is truly the perfect destination to escape the 9-to-5 grind
No need to plan an itinerary or do research
Just choose a hotel surrounded by greenery
And regain a sense of relaxation

The incredibly popular Yayoi Kusama exhibition at the NGV is a must-see in Melbourne.
I happened to be back in Melbourne during Yayoi Kusama's polka dot exhibition, and I definitely couldn't miss it. Many exhibits are being shown in Australia for the first time, and the popularity is evident in the fact that tickets need to be purchased several days in advance.
🎫 How to book:
This exhibition is extremely popular, so be sure to purchase tickets in advance on the NGV's official website to avoid sell-outs.
If you prefer a less crowded viewing experience, it's recommended to book the earliest time slot, around 9:00 am, when there are the fewest people.
💰 AUD 38
❤️ Must-see photo spots:
Most of the amazing photo opportunities are in Part 2.
1️⃣ World premiere! The stunning new work - the kaleidoscopic Infinity Mirrored Room. It's like stepping into a parallel universe!
2️⃣ Australian premiere! The 5-meter-tall sculpture "Dancing Pumpkin" is super cute and incredibly photogenic.
3️⃣ Classic polka dot paintings + immersive mirror rooms + psychedelic sculptures - every room is a great photo op.
4️⃣ Pumpkin Mirror Room: There's a queue, and each person only has about 20 seconds to look around. You won't have time to use a camera here, so it's recommended to use your phone to take pictures through the small opening.
📌 Exhibition tips:
1️⃣ Attire: It's recommended to wear form-fitting clothing in solid colors (black, white, beige, or other low-saturation colors). The exhibition is full of highly saturated colors and patterns, which might be overwhelming for those with trypophobia.
2️⃣ Viewing order: You can scan your ticket and enter up to half an hour before your entry time. You must visit Part 1 before Part 2. If you see Part 2 first, you won't be able to go back to Part 1, as tickets are scanned separately for each part.
3️⃣ Bring a friend who's good at taking photos, and be patient. The popular spots require quick shots and waiting.
4️⃣ There are also many photo opportunities in the public areas on the first floor. You can take photos for free with a pumpkin sculpture, a field of silver balls, and the polka dot balloons hanging from the ceiling in the rest area.
5️⃣ The exhibition merchandise is also great. I ended up buying a polka dot backpack and a makeup bag.

You can always trust Yuyuan Garden|Hidden photo spots
As a Shanghainese, the Yuyuan Lantern Festival is a must-see every year, but this year I captured a unique perspective. This time, I took the road less traveled, seeking out lesser-known "upstairs" photo spots. The bustling crowd admiring the lanterns on the ground became the perfect atmosphere for my photos.
·
Friendly reminder: These spots are better for landscape photography. If you want to be in the photo, it's best to find a regular spot on the ground.
·
📍Enter through Gate 5 and turn right, go to the second floor of Anta, find the restroom, and the passage next to it offers a dreamy view of the lanterns from the second floor! This spot is also suitable for portraits. (Pic 1️⃣)
📍After leaving the restroom, turn left and go inside. There is construction work, so watch your step (Pic 2️⃣3️⃣)
📍Anta 3rd floor, left side, aerial passage to Tianyu Building (Pic 1️⃣0️⃣)
📍Tianyu Building 2nd floor, Peet's Coffee terrace (Pic 5️⃣)
📍Tianyu Building (near Bailing Building) 3rd and 4th floor stairwell, where you can capture Yuyuan Garden and Lujiazui in the same frame (Pic 7️⃣8️⃣)
📍Huabao Building 3rd floor, tea room terrace, with Ninghui Pavilion as the background (Pic 6️⃣)
📍Huabao Building 3rd floor, the same terrace facing Lujiazui, capturing Changxi Building (Pic 4️⃣)
📍Near Gate 3, find Bawang Chaji, go to the 2nd floor
📍Jiushi Building 2nd floor, retro corridor, also suitable for portraits
📍Lantern corridor next to "Zhuang Zhou's Dream of a Butterfly," stairs/elevator next to the toy store to the 2nd floor (the balcony may be 🔒) Pic 1️⃣1️⃣
📍The same staircase to the 4th floor (may be 🔒)

Milan will punish anyone who doesn't plan ahead!
📍Milan, Italy
The tram moves slowly, weaving through the winding streets like a never-ending movie, with the melody of ancient and modern intertwining. Outside the window, the cobblestone streets of the old town are gently wrapped in Christmas lights, each light becoming a gentle voiceover in the movie, whispering the long history of Milan. Strolling through the streets of Milan, every corner exudes a unique charm that is intoxicating.

Milan Cathedral → La Rinascente → Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II → Pinacoteca di Brera → Sforza Castle → Sempione Park → Arco della Pace → Santa Maria delle Grazie → Navigli Canal District → UNAHOTELS Verticale Milano
✅Accommodation recommendation: UNAHOTELS Verticale Milano
Located in the city center of Milan, close to the Vertical Forest, with convenient transportation and a subway station at the doorstep. The rooms are modern and spacious, with a large terrace offering a panoramic view of the city. The hotel not only provides a comfortable accommodation environment but also arranges unique experience activities. To let me fully experience the fashion atmosphere of Milan, the hotel specially arranged a private shopping experience, where I could choose my favorite items in La Rinascente, which is connected to the cathedral, with a wide range of international brands and a fragrance area that is mesmerizing. The scent of Maison Francis Kurkdjian is like magic, with each perfume being a carefully crafted work of art, exuding a unique fragrance and story. In addition, the hotel also arranged a Milanese ice cream and pizza making experience at Towns of Italy, where I followed the steps of a professional chef, from kneading the dough to spreading the sauce, and then sprinkling with rich cheese and fresh vegetables, to personally experience the fun of making.

Sydney family trip with a 6-year-old, 20,000 steps a day
Three days in Sydney, full of fun and satisfaction, everything was perfect except for the lack of shopping time. 20,000+ steps a day, but not tired at all, and the kid was great too 👍
Stayed for three nights, captured sunsets from different locations each night, golden afterglow all over the harbor, the gentle silhouette of the Sydney Opera House, lalaland in reality, hard not to be moved 💙
Hotel 🏨:
1️⃣The Fullerton Hotel Sydney 2 nights (core area of the city, next to Martin Place, convenient to go anywhere, hearty breakfast)
2️⃣Quest North Sydney 1 night (Sydney weekend room rates are very high, the last night was chosen in North Sydney, there is a subway bus at the door, also thinking of visiting the North Sydney night view, the most important thing is to choose an apartment to cook, fry steak)
Itinerary 📅:
Day 1: The night before, flew from Melbourne to Sydney late, woke up naturally in the morning, the first day was mainly a leisurely Citywalk: Hyde Park, St. Mary's Cathedral, Art Gallery of New South Wales, Mrs. Macquarie's Chair, Royal Botanic Garden, Sydney Opera House.
Day 2: Early morning Royal Botanic Garden (because the previous afternoon's Mrs. Macquarie's Chair photo was backlit, the teammate insisted on getting up early, re-punching the Opera House's beautiful location, and it turned out that the morning sea was indeed much more beautiful, 40 minutes round trip); after breakfast and rest at the hotel, took the bus to Bondi Beach; returned to the North Sydney hotel at 4 pm to rest and adjust, went to Lavender Bay in the evening to see the night view, walked along the coastal trail to Luna Park, took a cab back to the hotel, bought steak, lamb chops, oysters, and mussels at a nearby supermarket to make dinner at the apartment.
Day 3: Woke up naturally, took the bus from the North Sydney apartment to Taronga Zoo 🐨, 20+ minutes direct to the north gate of the zoo, all the way downhill, returned to the south gate, took the ferry directly to Circular Quay, no return trip, recommended route! After getting off the boat at Circular Quay, took the bus directly to the University of Sydney, took a little stroll, went to Jeffrey Street Wharf in North Sydney to watch the sunset, very few people, a very quiet and great sunset spot, highly recommended! After dark, took a cab to the airport with luggage to catch a late flight back home ✈️

If you're visiting Malacca for the first time, copy this one-day itinerary.
Malaysia is visa-free, so I decided to take a spontaneous trip.
I finally visited Malacca, a place I've longed to visit, and it was truly amazing.
I really like this colorful, dopamine-filled, Southeast Asian-style small town.
It feels like being in Venice on the sea.
I wandered aimlessly through the streets, taking photos, trying local food, daydreaming by the river, and enjoying the sea breeze. It was so relaxing.

⭐️⭐️Malacca Travel Tips
1⃣️ Malaysia is visa-free. Remember to fill out the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC) 3 days before departure.
2⃣️ There are direct buses from Kuala Lumpur Airport, or you can take a bus from TBS Bus Terminal. The journey takes about 2 hours, with many departures. Tickets cost 11-14 RM.
3⃣️ Malacca has a night market on Jonker Street every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, which is very lively.
4⃣️ Malacca is not big, so you can do a one-day round trip from Kuala Lumpur. If you have more time, you can enjoy a leisurely two-day trip.
5⃣️ For accommodation, I recommend staying on Jonker Street or along the Malacca River. My room had a view of the canal, which was amazing.
6⃣️ You can use Grab or Bolt for taxis, which is very convenient.
7⃣️ Many shops in Malacca only accept cash or local cards, so remember to bring enough cash.
Before leaving Beijing, be sure to visit this century-old church.
Beijing is truly a treasure trove! Having lived here for over 20 years, this is the first time I've discovered such a stunning Catholic church. 💒
Don't miss this place during your short holiday in Beijing.
This is the Xishiku Church ⛪️, which has a history of over 100 years and is the largest Catholic church in Beijing. It has been around for over 300 years and still retains the calligraphy of Emperor Kangxi.
The main building is a three-story Gothic structure with 11 spires at the top, and the building's floor plan is cross-shaped.
The two Chinese-style pavilions outside the church give it a unique blend of Eastern and Western aesthetics.
The church's interior is resplendent, with a golden dome supported by 300 giant columns and 80 stained glass windows depicting the history of Catholicism in China.
The church has a strong Oriental character, and the sunlight streaming through the stained glass windows in the afternoon is incredibly sacred.
Many couples choose to hold their weddings here. 💒 On the day we visited, we saw three couples entering the church one after another.
The church offers different beautiful views at different times of the year. 🌸 In spring, there are crabapple blossoms, and in winter, ❄️ the snow-covered pine trees in front of the church add to its mystery.
⚠️Note:
📍 No. 33, Xishiku Street, Xicheng District
👉🏼 About reservations: No reservation is required, and you can enter the church! However, the main entrance is usually closed, so you need to enter through the small door on the right.
📅 Visiting time: If you are just visiting for sightseeing and taking photos, avoid misa time.
During misa, photography and videography are not allowed, and you cannot leave your seat unless there are special circumstances! It is recommended to visit on Saturdays, as there are fewer sessions, only in the morning. Sundays are not recommended.
It is best to visit around 4 pm on a sunny day, 🌞 when the indoor lighting is optimal.
⌚️ Church exterior opening hours:
Morning: 06:30–11:00
Afternoon: 14:00–17:00
🌹 Misa time:
Monday to Saturday: 06:30 Chinese, 07:15 Chinese
Sunday: 06:30 Chinese, 07:30 Chinese, 09:00 Chinese, 11:00 English, 12:30 Italian/Spanish, 16:00 Chinese, 18:00 Chinese
👔 Dress code: No hats; skirts below the knee, no bare shoulders or back, no slippers, remove hats, and silence phones.
⚠️ No large luggage; no tripods or commercial photography; no loud noise or running.
🏔️ Nearby: Palace Museum, Tiananmen Square, Beihai Park, Summer Palace, Shichahai, Lu Xun's Former Residence, White Pagoda Temple, Xidan

🚗 My itinerary
Day 1: Arrive at Singapore Airport ✈️, check in 🏨
In the evening, visit Merlion Park ⛲- Clarke Quay - Old Hill Street Police Station 👮🏻♀️
These three places are not far apart, with many attractions
It is recommended to stay in this area, which is very convenient to get around
The durian ice cream grandpa is at Clarke Quay
There are food streets near Merlion and Clarke Quay
The area near Merlion is more expensive
Day 2: Fort Canning Park - National Museum - Sands SkyPark Observation Deck - Marina Bay - Skytree Light Show
Go to Fort Canning in the morning
Hidden Little Bali, with several niche museums
There is even a spice museum
The hottest photo spot is here (queue for half an hour during peak hours)
From Fort Canning Park directly to the National Museum
Note ⚠️ Only visit the permanent exhibition, the temporary exhibition is not very valuable
The focus of the visit is World War II, Lee Kuan Yew's nation-building, and relations with Malaysia
Some of the permanent exhibitions are by Teamlab
No need to visit the ArtScience Museum
Go to Sands for a rooftop view 😎
It's really beautiful at night, but you need to make an appointment in advance
I left the night to the Marina Bay Skytree Light Show
So see Sands rooftop during the day and light show at night 🐦🔥
There are three projects in Marina Bay
I think the best option is to play the Mist Forest in the evening
You can connect to the 19:45 light show, which is great 👍🏻
Day 3: Singapore Bird Park 🐦/ River Safari 🐼/ Zoo 🦓 Choose one or two - Singapore Night Safari
Singapore has four zoos, all of which are world-class 👍🏻
I've been to all four twice
The bird park is a bit far from the other three
If you want to visit two or three on the same day
Play Bird Paradise in the morning (birds are more active in the morning)
Then go to River Safari or Zoo in the afternoon
Visit Night Safari at night
Day 4: Singapore Universal Studios/Water World Choose one - Luge Racing
Leave a full day for Sentosa
You can go to Universal Studios 🎢
You have to buy a fast pass on holidays, otherwise the queue will be unbearable 😭
Water World is also worth playing 🏊🏻♂️
Universal closes at 18:30
Water World closes at 17:00
At this time, go to Luge for skyway racing
It's not so hot, hey! Just right~
Day 5: Kampong Glam - Haji Lane - Little India - Singapore Airport ✈️ Departure
Go to Chinatown/Nanyang Technological University in the morning
Or you can go to Haji Lane for photo spots
Experience South Asian style in Little India
Security is still good, not a slum
Singapore's Indian people have become localized
The banana leaf curry fish head here is the origin of banana leaf all over the world
You can try it if you like Indian food
Remember to go to the airport early
Because Changi Airport is really good for shopping
Nanyang tea, pork jerky, pandan cake, bak kut teh seasoning...
lv, 🍎 store, niche bags, comparable to shopping city!
