Kyoto's Serene Temple, a Must-Visit Place in Kyoto 'Ginkaku-ji'
Ginkaku-ji is a serene temple located in Kyoto. Although it has a long history, the buildings were reconstructed due to a fire. It harmonizes well with the unique natural atmosphere of Buddhism, and the garden is beautifully maintained.
Ginkaku-ji is a place where the garden and scenery themselves are spectacular, attracting visitors from all over the world. It takes about 30 to 60 minutes to tour the entire interior space of Ginkaku-ji. It's a spacious area, so I recommend visiting with comfortable shoes and at a leisurely pace.
Maruyama Park: A Tranquil Escape
#2024mapped
Maruyama Park is a serene retreat, especially during cherry blossom season when the trees bloom in shades of pink and white. I strolled through the park, listening to the soft rustle of leaves and the cheerful laughter of families picnicking under the sakura. The centerpiece, a massive weeping cherry tree, was a sight to behold. It’s a place to slow down, breathe, and soak in Kyoto’s natural beauty.

Gion District: Kyoto’s Timeless Beauty
#2024mapped
Gion feels like stepping into a scene from a classic Japanese painting. The narrow, cobbled streets lined with wooden machiya houses exude elegance. As I wandered, I caught a fleeting glimpse of a geisha gracefully disappearing into a tea house. At dusk, lanterns lit the district, casting a warm glow that transported me to another era. Gion isn’t just a district—it’s a living piece of Kyoto’s history, where tradition thrives amidst modernity.

Gion Komori
The floor of the cafe is tatami, so you are asked to take off your shoes at the entrance. It is popular among foreigners as they can enjoy Japanese sweets in a traditional atmosphere.
We ordered a kinako (soybean flour) straw rice cake and a green tea straw rice cake. They are served with honey.
The texture is soft and chewy, and the taste is very delicious! We recommend the matcha green tea, which is more Kyoto-like.🍵
You must try it when you visit Kyoto!

The Most Beautiful Tram Station in Kyoto 👘🎍
#magicalxmastrip
If you are taking the JR Train Line to go to Arashiyama, then you might consider taking the Randen Tram instead. Because the tram station is really beautiful 😍
Inspired by the bamboo forest in Arashiyama, Kimono Forest is an art installation around the Arashiyama Randen Station of the Keifuku Randen Tram Line.
It is composed of 60 clear acrylic cylinders standing 2 meters tall. Within each cylinder is an example of kimono fabric design, with a total of 32 different traditional Kyo-yuzen (style of fabric dyeing developed in Kyoto during the Edo-Period) designs.
The designer behind the installation is Yasumichi Morita.
💡The best time to visit this place is right after the sun set at around 6:15 to 6:30 PM.
📝 The Keifuku Randen Line does not connect directly with Kyoto Station, and as it is operated by a private company, it’s not covered by the JR Pass.
🚇🚍🚋 Getting there :
From Kyoto Station, you can take City Bus 26, 28, and 206 to Shijo Omiya Station.
Alternatively, from Osaka you can take the Hankyu-Kyoto Line from Osaka-umeda Station then transfer at Hankyu Saiin Station to Randen Sai Station. It takes about 20 minutes to reach Randen Arashiyama Station.

The peaceful ambiance and the soft afternoon light made it feel like a serene escape from the usual crowds. It was a place to reflect, surrounded by nature and the calmness of the shrine, offering a sweet escape from the more famous tourist spots.

Visiting Kinkaku-ji (Golden Pavilion) in Kyoto on a gloomy, rainy day was a truly unforgettable experience. Even under grey skies, Kinkaku-ji's timeless beauty remained undeniable, glowing like a treasure amidst nature.

This Place, Rocks!
#Ryoanji #ZenTemple #kyoto
One of my favourite temples in Kyoto - it’s the only one I’ve been to every time I’ve set food in the city - and rightly so; whether it’s when the sakura trees are in full bloom, or when it ignites in autumn gold, Ryoanji is a space for calm contemplation and absolute relaxation. The 15 rocks that make up its masterful Zen garden are like planets in their own philosophical orbit - that is, they’re there for you to make of them as you wish. The surrounding gardens and lotus-filled lake are similarly breathtaking, so take a long, deep, cleansing breath, free your mind and just be for a moment or three. Hope you enjoy the experience!

Kyoto: tip to avoid crowds
The Arashiyama area in northwest Kyoto is on everyone's travel guide books and itineraries so expect it to be packed. However, if you explore the areas outside the bamboo forest and the shopping street, it is a bit quieter and you can enjoy nature in peace. Don't miss the nearby Tenryu-ji temple and Ogura Pond which aren't as packed with people.
On the east side of Kyoto is the Kiyomizudera area. Again, expect this place to be rammed. If you go early in the morning or later in the afternoon, you may be able to enjoy the surrounding areas such as the Shirakawa Canal which opens up its izakayas at night.#Kyoto #japan
A tour of Gion shrine 🇯🇵

Ten Check-in Kyoto Yasaka Shrine | Lantern Wall Ratio Check-in location: Kyoto Yasaka Shrine (Gion Shrine)
The best time to check in: early morning or evening, avoid crowds and enjoy the quiet time of the shrine.
Needle Punching Introduction:
1 A historic prayer resort
Yasaka Shrine is one of the most famous shrines in Kyoto. It has a history of more than 1,300 years and is also a holy place to pray for peace and good fate. Every year, countless tourists come to admire the fame. Whether it's for prayer or taking photos, this is a must-see scenic spot in Kyoto.
2 Shrine architecture and four-season beauty
The building complex of Yasaka Shrine is very traditional Japanese style, and the vermilion main hall is very eye-catching, especially in spring and autumn, which is beautiful against the backdrop of cherry blossoms and red leaves! The sunshine wine in the morning is in the shrine, which is quiet and sacred. A casual shot is a blockbuster!
3 Charming night view, especially suitable for couples If you want to experience a different Yasaka Shrine, you might as well come again at night. The shrine is brightly lit at night, which is particularly romantic. It is a good place for couples to take a walk at night. It is surrounded by the lively Gion Hanami Path, and you can also experience authentic Kyoto cuisine by the way.
C Tips for taking photos:
1. Lantern Wall Check-in | One of the most popular scenes
The iconic lantern wall of Yasaka Shrine is a photo spot that you must not miss!
It is recommended to clock in in the morning or evening, which can not only avoid crowds, but also take exclusive photos.

Two. The vermilion architecture is perfectly integrated with the sky.
In architectural photography, it is recommended to capture the contrast between the building and the blue sky, and take a panoramic picture with a wide-angle lens or mobile phone, which can show the magnificence and delicacy of Yasaka Shrine.
Standing under the torii and taking photos on your back is also a photo angle worth trying!
3. Stone lantern corridor under the mottled shadows of trees
The stone lantern path gives people an ancient and quiet feeling, which can be photographed with backlight to capture the sunlight through the leaf wine on the lanterns and the mottled light and shadow on the ground.
This composition is especially suitable for taking retro or static healing photos.
Recommendation of surrounding food:
After visiting the shrine, you can visit the nearby Gion shopping street, which is full of snack stalls! I especially recommend matcha ice cream and glutinous rice
