A Glimpse of an Ancient Village in Turpan 🇨🇳
#traveldiaries
What is interesting about going to the Ancient Jiaohe City Ruins is that they have created a replica of what the ruins used to look like. It is very fascinating to see the lives of the ancient people living in Jaiohe. The entire village depicts their daily lives like the money , jewelry and the clothing they used. It also displays their livelihood like the process of drying the grapes and turning them into raisins.
It is really a brilliant idea to show this village replica first before heading to the ruins.
Make sure to but the All inclusive tickets that includes the Ancient village.
Ticket price: around 150 which includes the ruins, ancient village and the shuttle bus.
Enjoy!
Tip: if you’re a foreign traveler I suggest that you join a tour group or you rent a car with a driver that would drive you to these scenic spots. Car rental ranges from 200-600 a day depending on the distance and the number of scenic spots that you are visiting . Usually your hostel or hotel will recommend you trusted agents or cars..

Picturesque Dali Old Town
#dali #yunnan #ancientcity
The Ancient City of Dali is well preserved and deserves at least a half day to explore it and truly enjoy what it has to offer.
By day, stroll around to shop for some local products such as coffee or mushrooms. Vibrant and bustling at night, try some local specialties in the numerous restaurants, such as a mushroom hotpot. Trust me, it won't disappoint.
If you have a few days in the area, don't miss the Three pagodas and a tour of Erhai lake, stop by a Bai village to discover and buy local indigo products.
Kai Feng Ancient City Wall: From Least Expected to Most Unforgettable Experience
The Kaifeng City Wall, located in Henan Province, was originally built during the Tang Dynasty and is the second-largest ancient city wall in China, after the Nanjing City Wall. Despite being damaged by wars and floods, the wall has been rebuilt multiple times, with five layers of ancient walls buried beneath the current structure.
The west gate of the ancient city, known as "Daliang Gate," was first constructed in 781 AD during the Tang Dynasty and was later called Changhe Gate during the Northern Song Dynasty. These historical layers and cultural richness give Kaifeng a deep sense of history and charm.
🚨🚨🚨
This guide is perfect for history enthusiasts and hikers. The Kaifeng City Wall is 14.4 kilometers long, but only the western section from Daliang Gate to Anyuan Gate is open.
✅From Daliang Gate to Anyuan Gate, it's about a 5-kilometer walk, taking roughly 2 hours. For those who prefer not to walk, shared bikes can be rented on the wall by scanning a QR code.
✅Upon entering from Daliang Gate, you can watch a documentary called "Ancient Horse Path," which uses virtual reality to showcase the ancient ruins.
✅After the documentary, exit to the left to ascend the city gate. Every half hour, there's a 720-degree immersive show, "Micro Dream of Daliang Gate," which covers Kaifeng's history from the Xia Dynasty to the Northern Song Dynasty's peak and beyond.
✅As you walk north along the wall (the south side isn't open yet), signs detail Kaifeng's history in chronological order. History enthusiasts will find familiar figures and events, along with real historical remains like tamped earth layers and ballistic ruins.
💰Average Price per Person:40RMB

Turkey: ancient Smyrna in Izmir
This ancient city is located just in the center of Izmir it’s easy to get there bypublic transportation. It is one of the must places to see in Izmir. The city had a very important meaning for Greek culture. It’s also a fact that it was once rebuilt by Alexander the great.
The city consists of five parts, including the agora area, the base of the northern basilica gate, the stoa, and the ancient market. In this Asian city, you can see water lines and working water system, which gives water all year around and the source of this water still remains unknown.#turkey #Izmir #trip #ancientcity
Turkey: Kibyra the city of fast horses and heroic warriors
Kibyra ancient city is located one hour away from Pamukkale in Burdur province.
Kibyra Ancient City inherited from the Lycians, is located on three hills overlooking the Golhisar plain, at the foot of the Akdag mass. The city, surrounded by Caria, Phrygia, Lycia, and Pisidia in ancient times, was located at the east-west intersection.
Known as the city of fast horses and heroic warriors, the ancient city of Kibyra draws attention especially with the Medusa mosaic in the building used as the Parliament Building and the Odeion (House of Music).
1. Stadion is considered one of the most magnificent ancient stadiums in Anatolia. If you try to feel the struggles of the gladiators while visiting this place, you will be even more impressed.
2. The theater has a capacity of approximately 9,000 people. There is a temple structure on the benches that was later converted into a church.
3. The Tholos Nymphaeum is a planned fountain structure. It was built both to be a social space and to meet the water and sewerage needs of the city with its different evacuation systems.
All of these public structures seem to had only minimal damages. There is much more underground, untouched I guess.
4. The building is known as the Odeion; was used as a music-concert hall, winter theater, judiciary, and city council building. The Medusa mosaic, made of red, green, and white marble, located at the very center of the orchestra, is unique in the world. #turkey #trip #ancientcity
Turkey: Hierapolis ancient city🏛️
Hierapolis was founded in the 2nd century BC. It was an important trading center, attracting merchants and tourists from across the Roman Empire. It was also famous for its hot springs and spas, which have healing properties.
In the 4th century AD, Hierapolis was destroyed by the Arabs. The city was never rebuilt and fell into disrepair over time.
The remains of Hierapolis were rediscovered in the 19th century and have since become a major tourist destination.
Today the ancient city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site with well-preserved ruins including theatres, gymnasiums, temples, baths and an ancient theater. Many of the ruins date from Roman times when Hierapolis was at the height of its power and influence.
Sights to visit in Hierapolis:
1. Ancient theatre
2. Apollo temple
3. Hot springs
4. Archaeological museum
Tips:
All seasons are good for visiting this site.
If you’re not traveling with the tour, come here at the sunrise and the go directly to swim in the ancient thermal bath, as after 9am touring buses start coming, and it gets super crowded there.#turkey #trip #ancientcity
Charms of the Ancient City
Simply wonderful, and on a par with Sukhothai. Amazing historical park. It's just beautiful and there is a complete lack of crowds. Very spacious ancient site. Suggest to get a guided tour. Well preserved ruins of an age which is long gone, but definitely a World Heritage Site, which is worthy to keep in good conditions for the coming generations. 🇨🇳 🌸 Springtime Blossom in Dali
#cherryblossom2024
Nestled in the heart of China's Yunnan province, Dali emerges as a springtime paradise, enchanting travelers with its vibrant blossoms and serene landscapes. As a travel reviewer fortunate enough to wander through its picturesque streets and breathtaking surroundings, I'm thrilled to share the beauty and tranquility that Dali offers during this magical season.
🌸🌸The Spring Blossom in Dali🌸🌸
Spring in Dali is a spectacle of nature, with its climate creating the perfect stage for flowers to bloom in a riot of colors.
🌟 Dali Ancient City
At the heart of this floral wonderland lies the Dali Ancient City, a testament to the region's rich history and culture. Walking through its cobblestone streets surrounded by traditional Bai architecture, one can't help but feel transported to another era. The ancient city walls, towering gates, and old homes adorned with intricate wood carvings and vibrant paintings add to the charm of this historic town. In spring, the ancient city comes alive with the colors and fragrances of blossoming flowers, making it the perfect time to explore its cultural heritage and timeless beauty.
🌦️ Weather and What to Wear
Spring weather in Dali is pleasantly mild, with average temperatures ranging from 10°C to 20°C (50°F to 68°F). This season brings a refreshing contrast to the region's otherwise temperate climate, with warm days and cool evenings. It's the ideal weather for outdoor activities, whether you're strolling through the ancient city, boating on Erhai Lake, or hiking in the nearby Cangshan Mountains.
Given the temperate climate, dressing in layers is advisable. Mornings and evenings can be cool, so a light jacket or sweater is essential. During the day, comfortable, breathable clothing will allow you to enjoy the warmth of the sun. Don't forget to bring comfortable walking shoes, as Dali's charm is best explored on foot. And, of course, sunglasses and sunscreen are must-haves to protect against the bright spring sun.

One of the impressive ruins of Myra, Lycian temples and rock tombs carved into the steep slopes of the acropolis. Also The Ancient Theater is one of the other important structures of Myra.
If you’re in Antalya I strongly recommend to visit this place. The easiest way to get here is to rent a car , it will take nearly 2 hours driving. Another option is to take a bus to Demre from Antalya bus station and to take a taxi to the ruins from Demre bus station. Turkey: ancient fortress of Termessos
Termessos is a great place to spend one day on. It’s located near Antalya city center. It will take you half an hour to get there by car or you can take a bus to Korkuteli from Antalya bus station. 📌"Bell Tower of Xi'An" 西安钟楼
📍Address: Bei Lin Qu, Xi'An, Shaanxi, China, 710007
The Bell Tower is in the middle of Xi'An city and in the center of the entire ancient city. In the past, the tower had a large bell that was rung daily to tell the time. It is more suitable to take pictures at night when there are lights. It is not recommended to climb the stairs. In comparison, the city wall is more worth climbing up and strolling around.
There are lanes all around the bell tower, so you need to look across the road. The bell tower is located in the center of Xi'an. It is a place for eating, drinking, and having fun. From the bell tower, you can see the four main streets in the east, west, south, and north. It is very spectacular at night.
If you go there, the lights will be bright and beautiful!

Must Be Heaven
From the moment I landed in Dali I felt a calm and tranquility flow over me. A peace of mind that I’ve not felt in a long while. It quite literally put a hop in my step as I walked for a short 20 minutes from my accommodation at Lux Tea Horse hotel to the Ancient City. Cultural pride permeates the air in this city. It’s in the food, the people, the architecture, the landscape and the weather is perfect. The people are warm, friendly and accommodating, why wouldn’t they be living here. I spent three days exploring Dali Santorini/Ideal City, Erhai Lake, The Three Pagodas, Ancient City and Cangshan. Nature is my recharge button so I loved being at Cangshan. I just did not have enough time, so another visit is on the horizon for me. #AncientCity #erhailake #Cangshan #ThreePagodas #IdealCity
