Beautiful Wenhai Lake in Lijiang Yunnan
#chinatrip
Wenhai Lake, situated on the southern slope of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain in Lijiang, Yunnan, is a seasonal alpine lake and wetland at an elevation of approximately 3,100 meters
I went to Wenhai Lake in summer, the atmosphere is a vibrant, lush grazing land surrounded by meandering streams and blooming wildflowers. Nestled on the southern slope of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, the lake basin becomes a breathtaking expanse of greenery, attracting herds of livestock and showcasing many of species of rhododendrons in full bloom.
Wenhai Lake in summer offers a picturesque and rejuvenating retreat amidst Yunnan's natural wonders. The surrounding forests and meadows create a tranquil and refreshing escape, perfect for nature lovers and hikers with colorful flora and the scenic views of misty mountains enhancing the serene beauty of the region.

In Zootopia anyone could be anything!
If you’re heading to Shanghai Disneyland, here’s the game plan for a magical start to your day!
Early Park Entry Pass is absolutely worth it. You’ll get into the park 1–1.5 hours before the general crowd, and trust me—it’s a game-changer. I managed to conquer three major rides before 9:30 AM. Skip the Premier Access—it’s not necessary at all if you play your cards right.
Now, about getting there: many hotels offer free shuttles to Disney, but here’s the catch—they usually don’t run before 7:30 AM. So if you’re team Early Entry, plan ahead!
Hungry? Forget overpriced meals in the park. Disneytown is where it’s at! Tons of restaurants are just a short walk from the gates, and the prices won’t make you cry into your Mickey-shaped snacks.
Photos with characters? Be prepared to wait. The lines are long, and Disney cast members don’t rush anyone—which is great for the perfect photo, but not so great if you’re next in line.
Finally, do not miss the pawpsicles at Zootopia. So cute. So refreshing. So necessary.
Enjoy every magical moment!

Experience 4 seasons in 1 day ⛰️九寨沟 🏞️
Finally put my foot down and decided to try solo travelling while visiting one of the world’s most beautiful UNESCO site. While planning, I realised there was not much itineraries around in English. So here’s my itinerary:
Day 1
1040H: 🛬Landed in Chengdu Tianfu Airport
1303-1330H: 🚝Took the train from Tianfu Airport to Chengdu East Station (approx 30mins)
1444-1654H: 🚝Bullet Train from Chengdu East Station to HuanglongJiuzhai station (approx 2h)
1700H: 🚕Took a 10mins cab to a hotel located near Chengdu East station
1800H: 🥘Dropped baggage at hotel before having dinner at a nearby restaurant 10mins car ride away
Day 2
0900H: 🚕 Took a 10mins cab back to HuanglongJiuzhaigou station to catch the 2hour shuttle to JiuZhai attraction entrance
1130H: 📍Arrived at JiuZhaiGou attraction entrance (10mins walk), checked in at hotel to drop off lugguage before catching a quick lunch and heading towards the attraction.
1230H: ⛰️ Follow the signs and head towards the attraction where you will scan your ticket and board a bus which will bring you to the attraction route while giving a tour in Chinese. (Note: Sit on the left side of the bus to get a better views of the scenery while on the bus. Last entry to attraction is at 1400H)
1830H: 🏞️ JiuZhaiGou closes at 1830H, so do ensure that you catch the last bus to leave the place.
1900H: Dinner and head back to accommodation
Day 3
0609H: 🚏Head towards the bus gathering point and catch the earliest bus back to Huanglongjiuzhai station (approx 2h ride)
0904-1045H: 🚝 Bullet train back to Chengdu East station (approx 2h)
This was the itinerary I came up with as a solo traveller. An alternative to the itinerary would be to travel to the attraction area on day 1 such that you will be able to spend a full day at JiuZhaiGou or head back directly to Chengdu with the latest bullet train. Do book your train tickets two week in advance to secure a seat. Note that it’s currently non-peak period for jiuzhaigou so tickets are half price :) what are you waiting for? Hurry book your tickets and marvel at the beautiful scenery.

Step back in time visiting Zhouzhuang Ancient town
Visiting China’s number one water town was definitely a must see on my 3 day trip to Suzhou
Definitely worth the 1.5 hour trip to and from!
It was nice to have some time to take photos before everyone arrived.. my ticket was for 7.30am-12pm and though I was rushing to arrive early, most shops didn't open until around 9am so don't recommend arriving so early unless you'd like to take photos with no people around
🗓️Itinerary Scheduling: I think this could possibly be a better view/experience in the afternoon/night time if you get the chance.. And l'd say half a day there is enough time to view!
🕰️ Business Hours: 7.30am to 8pm Year round
📍 Address: No.43, Quanfu Road, Zhouzhuang Town,
Kunshan City
🚉 Metro line 4 to Tongli Station and 25 minute DiDi ride ($10-15AUD one way)
💸 Average Price P/P : $21AUD (Children and seniors free)
🍛 Food and drink: Plenty of places to eat at and drink in the town including local snacks and drinks and also sit down rest and deserts, I recommend a visit for breakfast and lunch or lunch and dinner!

Focus on: Ancient Town of Fenghuang
Fenghuang in China was a great stop for 2 days during my trip to Hunan. The town is so pretty, with its old wooden houses along the river. I loved walking through the narrow streets, exploring local shops, and along the embankment- that's where the best views are.
One tip: be prepared for crowds, especially during weekends. I was there during the week and still amount of people was impressive.

Exploring the Beauty of Longji Rice Terraces
Visiting the Longji Rice Terraces was amazing! The views were incredible—green fields stretching across the mountains. It felt like something out of a movie. I went in the summer, and seeing the rice growing everywhere was really cool.
The hike up to the top wasn’t too hard, but it’s steep, so make sure to wear good shoes. The little villages around the terraces were super cute, and it was nice seeing locals working the land in old ways.
A tip: the weather can change fast, so bring a light jacket. Also, go early or late to avoid the crowds and get the best photos. It’s a peaceful place that’s definitely worth the trip!

Grilled Insects experience in ancient village
Dehang Village was a unique experience. Even though it was rainy when I visited, it still felt magical—plus, there were hardly any tourists, so it was peaceful and quiet. The village is surrounded by beautiful mountains and has a really authentic, calm vibe.
One fun thing: I tried my first insect ever here! I'm not a 100% sure but if I understood the old vendor lady correctly- it was a grilled dragonfly's caterpillar. I did not know what to expect honestly but I actually liked it!
I really enjoyed the old traditional architecture in Dehang. The wooden houses and narrow alleys made me feel like I had stepped back in time. It was so nice to see a place that has kept its authentic charm over the years.

“Monkey”ing around in Zhangjiajie
One of the best elements of a Zhangjiajie trip is the encounters with these mischief makers.
Some tips to keep in mind:
- Don’t feed the monkeys!
A lot of locals will be throwing food at the monkeys, but the moment you do, they’ll start following you and becoming more aggressive. Plus, it’s just a crappy thing to do. These animals can eat grass and they tend to rummage through the trash cans too. They are not lacking in food at all.
- Be mindful of your bags.
I saw some monkeys steal a woman’s tote bag and take the items out. They also got very territorial when she tried to take her stuff back. So when you visit the park, try to keep your items in a zippable bag. Eventually the monkeys got bored and left, but not before stealing some feminine pads from her.
- Keep your distance.
For the most part, these monkeys are used to tourists. However, mama monkeys with their babies, mating pairs, and solitary males can react negatively if you get too close. My friend got a little too close to a monkey who took aim at her with its claws. Thankfully she was unharmed, but the same can’t be said for her jacket.
Just use common sense (i.e. don’t try to touch or feed the animals) and you’ll be just fine.
