Kumamoto Inari Shrine ⛩️ | Kumamoto | Japan 🇯🇵
Visit Kumamoto Inari Shrine ⛩️ | Kumamoto | Japan 🇯🇵
Kumamoto Inari Shrine is located in the city of Kumamoto, next to Kumamoto Castle. It is a very old Shinto shrine in the city.
Since this shrine was built in 1496, it was built to protect Kumamoto Castle from all evil and is located in the southeast of the castle.
When walking into the shrine, you will see torii gates lined up along the stairs that will lead to another worship point, which is very impressive (I didn't dare take a picture in the shrine 😱). Although this shrine is small, it is full of charm and interesting things. (There is a glass ball, just like in the movies, everyone 🤭)
You can take the tram from Kumamoto Station, Line A, and get off at stop No.10.
You can pay for the tram like a bus. But we used the Kumamoto City Tram 1 Day Pass for 500¥, which allowed us to get on and off as many stations as we wanted. It was a great deal!
If anyone is interested, you can follow our footsteps. Finally, please click the heart ♥️ to support us. 😘

Kato Shrine is a sacred shrine next to Kumamoto Castle, which is an old shrine that was first built between the tower and the Uto turret, which is very impressive.
Inside the shrine, there is a shady, quiet atmosphere, cool breeze🌬️and and and it's amazing. There is a corner where you can see the castle very clearly. Take pictures in a stunning way. There are not many people. You can take pictures in a cool way.
There is also a Kumamon wearing a samurai outfit. It is very cute ♥️
Traveling from Hakata Station (Fukuoka) Take the Shinkansen to Kumamoto Station. Use the JR Northern Kyushu Pass (3days) for ~48 minutes.
From Kumamoto Station to Kumamoto Castle by tram (Tram) You can pay for the bus. But we used the Kumamoto City Tram 1 Day Pass for 500 yen. You can get on and off as many stations as you want. It is very worthwhile.

Kumamoto Castle 🏯 | Kumamoto | Japan 🇯🇵
Visit Kumamoto Castle 🏯 | Kumamoto | Japan 🇯🇵
Kumamoto City doesn't only have Kumamon, it also has a castle that is ranked in the Top 5 most beautiful in Japan. And Kumamoto Castle is designed to prevent enemies from entering. The intelligence of the people of Kumamoto is awesome!!!
But, but, but, in 2016, a major earthquake damaged the foundation of the castle (a lot of damage), but now it has been repaired to some extent and there is a plan to repair it until 2037. Because Japan will repair it to be the same as before. Every stone must be in the same place 👍🏻
Traveling from Hakata Station (Fukuoka) Take the Shinkansen to Kumamoto Station. Use the JR Northern Kyushu Pass (3days). Travel time is ~48 minutes. I haven't even had my fill of the view yet. 🤭
From Kumamoto Station to Kumamoto Castle by tram, you can pay for the bus. But we used the Kumamoto City Tram 1 Day Pass for 500 yen, which allowed us to get on and off as many stations as we wanted. It was so worth it!
When we reached the sign, we walked for a while. It was a bit of a climb, but it was enough to make us breathless (it was a good workout). When we reached the entrance, the ticket cost 800 yen. The entrance is an elevated walkway, which is a temporary walkway because the castle base is under repair (what kind of temporary walkway is this? It's super strong, it should last for decades 😝).
The place is really big. It took us a long time to get to the castle. Everyone!!! In the past, it was hard to meet the Shogun. 555+ But the place is really beautiful and grand. Inside the castle, there are exhibits on the history of the castle. It was really fun. 🫶🏻

1 day at Kumamoto Castle
At first, we planned to spend 1 day in Kumamoto City, but yes, we were dizzy early in the morning and booked the wrong bus time. We were also too lazy to queue up to change because it was Christmas when we went, so we only went to Kumamoto Castle. But believe it or not, it was worth it!
How to get there - We took the JR train to Kumamoto St. and then took the Tempo to Kumamoto Castle.
Attractions - Kumamoto Castle is the 3rd largest castle in Japan. Inside the castle, there is an exhibition of historical artifacts from the early Edo period.
Average price per person: We bought a ticket to enter the castle for 800 yen. I remember there was another price but it included some kind of entrance fee. I can't remember.
Opening hours: 09.00-16.30
Reason for recommendation: It is an important historical landmark of Japan that anyone who likes it should visit at least once. On the day we went, there was a rare samurai show. There were staff to recommend spots on each floor. On the top floor of the castle, we could see the city view of Kumamoto City. Plus, there was a river flowing around the castle. It's also close to another landmark of the city. The weather is nice, walk quickly, let's go!
When we went, there were some parts of the castle that were not open for visitors yet because there were parts of the castle that were still under repair from the earthquake.
Next time, I promised Kumamon that I would stay overnight.

The Iconic Kumamoto Castle🏯🇯🇵
3 days tourist in Kumamoto 🏯🇯🇵✨⛰️
Sharing to you my experience visiting The Iconic Kumamoto Castle, great 400 year history of this place 🤩
As of 08-16-23 , some parts of the areas in the castle is still on renovation because of the 2016 earthquake with a magnitude of 7.0 that sustained heavy damages.
Too many active volcanoes around Kumamoto like the largest active one Mt.Aso , reason why earthquake is often 4x in a month.
There is so much to see in this place , amazing nature everywhere ⛰️🏯
