Brilliant Bucharest
Bucharest is the capital of Romania and has many iconic land marks, particularly the Palace of Parliament, which is the heaviest building in the world weighing in at over 4,000,000 tonnes and it’s the third largest administrative building in the world! Incredible. There are many other interesting sites too including the Stavropoleos Church and 15th-century Curtea Veche Palace where Vlad the Impaler once ruled from. Bucharest is served by two airports both of which have frequent public transport services to Bucharest city Centre.

Bucharest top attractions
If it happens to visit the Balkans and more specific Romania, it's very probably to pass by Bucharest. The capital is not only the biggest city but it was build really massive and megalomaniac. It's impossible not to see the second biggest building in the world, aka the Parliament. Next to it is the biggest orthodox church on the Balkans. Following the huge boulevards you can visit also the singing fountains, the house of the former communist leader, the open air ethnographic museum and many others. Just explore!

Megalomaniac Bucharest
When you visit Bucharest for first time, it's impossible to do not notice the huge dimensions of all the buildings, boulevards, public spaces, etc. Of course on the top is the People's palace, the second bigest building in the world, than the massive church next to it, the musical fountain and literally everything. If you want to go to the root of this "policy" you can visit the residence of the former communist leader, Nicolae Ceausescu and take a look at the golden bathroom or the golden decorated swimiming pool.

My trip to Bucharest was an exciting mix of history, culture, and vibrant city life! 🇷🇴 I started at the Palace of the Parliament, an enormous and impressive building. The entrance fee was about 40 RON, and the guided tour was well worth it to appreciate its grandeur and fascinating history. 🏛️
Exploring the Old Town, I enjoyed wandering through the narrow streets filled with charming cafes and lively bars. The atmosphere at Lipscani Street is fantastic, especially in the evenings when it’s buzzing with locals and visitors alike. 🍹
A visit to the Romanian Athenaeum, a stunning concert hall with its beautiful neoclassical architecture, was another highlight. Tickets for a performance were around 100 RON, and the venue’s acoustics and interior design are truly impressive. 🎶
I also took a relaxing stroll through Herăstrău Park, where the vast green spaces and the lake provided a peaceful retreat from the city's hustle. 🚤
Bucharest blends old-world charm with modern energy, making it a great destination for those who love exploring diverse attractions. #trip #Bucharest #PalaceOfTheParliament #OldTown #RomanianAthenaeum #HerăstrăuPark
Oasis in the city
The Bucharest Botanical Garden, a serene oasis in Romania's bustling capital, is a must-visit for nature enthusiasts. Established in 1860, it boasts over 10,000 plant species across 17 hectares. Wander through its various sections, including the enchanting Japanese Garden and the vibrant Rose Garden. The tropical greenhouse, filled with exotic plants, offers a lush escape year-round. The garden's historical museum provides insights into botanical research and Romania's natural heritage. Perfect for a peaceful stroll, a picnic, or photography, the Bucharest Botanical Garden beautifully showcases the diversity and splendor of plant life, making it a delightful retreat in the heart of the city.
