When I visited Pao Tong Shu Street, the street was adorned with golden ginkgo trees, creating a truly artistic landscape. The yellow leaves fluttered in the wind, painting the alleys with their color and perfectly harmonizing with the charming shops lining the street. The blue brick walls and vintage stores shone even brighter under the warm autumn sunlight, making it an ideal spot for photography. Strolling leisurely while listening to the rustling of the ginkgo leaves or sitting in a café in the alley to enjoy some relaxation was absolutely perfect. In this alley, where time seemed to flow slowly, I could fully appreciate the warm autumn vibes.

Paulownia Tree Street is an artistic and retro-style street located in Qingyang District. Although it is less than 500 meters long, its generous and leisurely atmosphere is enough to give you a taste of old Chengdu. During the Qing Dynasty, this place was known as Renli Hutong and was once famous for its giant paulownia trees, which is why it was renamed Paulownia Tree Street. However, those trees are now gone. The street is lined with green brick walls and ginkgo trees, creating a serene landscape. Various unique restaurants and cafes add a literary touch. During the day, you can see locals enjoying leisurely meals and conversations, and at night, literary pubs and private eateries come alive, creating a warm atmosphere. It is the perfect place to experience the laid-back life of old Chengdu.

It is advisable to check the weather conditions before visiting and to prepare warm clothing and waterproof shoes. Additionally, the trails are relatively narrow, so it can get crowded during peak times. Visiting early in the morning or late in the evening is recommended.
Kavalan Distillery in Yilan, Taiwan: A Must-Visit for Whiskey Enthusiasts!
Taiwan is also known for its whiskey. Among them, Kavalan by King Car Group is famous for winning first place in world competitions and is well-known among Koreans for its great taste and value.
I took a bus from Taipei to Yilan to visit the whiskey distillery. There are tours available (free of charge) that show how the whiskey is distilled and made. I highly recommend visiting!
After touring the distillery, there's a bar where you can taste the whiskey. It's cheaper than whiskey bars in the city, so make sure to try it out!

Ping'an Bridge Catholic Church, built in 1896, is a representative building in southwestern China that combines Chinese and Western architectural styles, with historical and cultural significance. After the Church Incident during the Qing Dynasty, this church was designed and rebuilt by a French missionary, skillfully blending elements of traditional Chinese architecture with classical Roman church styles. The exterior features green bricks and tiled roofs, reflecting the aesthetics of Chinese architecture, while the interior is highlighted by Western-style arches and columns. Inside the spacious church, 108 massive cedar columns are orderly arranged.
Despite wars, earthquakes, and the Cultural Revolution, this place has been relatively well-preserved and is now designated as a national key cultural relic protection unit in China. It stands as a unique space where historical verification and the beauty of religious art coexist.

The Chengdu Catholic Diocese Bishop's Office is a unique space where Chinese architecture and Western styles harmoniously blend, making it a hidden gem for photography enthusiasts. The red pillars and traditional tiled roofs evoke a classic Chinese atmosphere, while the Western-style arched windows and intricate decorations add an exotic touch. In winter, the yellow ginkgo trees complement the architecture, creating a picturesque scene. The interior maintains a calm and peaceful ambiance rather than being lavish, offering a different charm from its grand scale, making it perfect for leisurely strolls and emotional photography.

In December, if you go inside the Catholic Diocese of Chengdu, you will find an annex. This place is perfect for enjoying photography and walks, as it is beautifully adorned with yellow ginkgo trees. Under the ginkgo trees, you can see local elderly people playing instruments together, enjoying a leisurely winter day. Although the unique rotten smell of ginkgo fruits might be a drawback, it adds a certain charm and fun to the experience.
The peaceful beauty and serene atmosphere are unforgettable. This place is perfect for spending quiet time away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Xiaotong Alley... Chengdu
Xiaotong Alley is a historical and culturally charming alley located in Qingyang District, Chengdu, Sichuan Province, China. Originally called 'Renfeng Hutong' during the Qing Dynasty, it was renamed 'Xiaotong Alley' during the Republic of China period due to its narrow alley structure. Before the establishment of the People's Republic of China, it was a quiet residential area, and in the 1970s, it transformed into a revolutionary workers' residence with the establishment of a thermos factory. Although the factory was later closed, it was reborn as the artistically inclined Guesthouse No. 4 Factory, becoming a beloved space for literary youth.
