#myhiddengems During our Greater Bay Area Trip, we tried to experience as many different transportation as we can! On the day travelling from Macau to Shenzhen, we chose Turbo Jet and it was special! We departed from Macau Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal as we stayed at Peninsula. It’s reachable by bus. You can opt for Taipa Ferry Terminal if you stay at Taipa. Then we bought the ticket at the counter which costs MOP260 per person one way. I suggest you to check the schedule online and plan your trip cuz the ferry is not that frequent for this route. While waiting, there were some souvenir shops and restaurants here. Around 20-30min before departure, get through the border custom. Make sure you show up at gate least 15 min before departure. You can put your hand carry luggage on the ferry while onboard. Around 45min later, we arrived at Shenzhen Shekou Terminal, got luggage and passed through the customs, arrived in mainland! No, there are no animals, just in Chinese it’ll be pronounced as 牛(niu - which means a “cow”)岛, but in Korean and English you’ll see the name as Udo island. ⛴️If you travel to Jeju and have extra time - can visit this island too. I recommend too combine it with visiting the Sunrise peak there. Because one of the ports to Udo island is very close to it. 🗺️After finishing with taking photos at the Ilchulbong hill, check the Apple Maps (worked well) or local NAVER map for the closest port - it’s easy to get there by one of the buses and walk a few minutes more. 🛟Buying ferry ticket is easy and fast, we bought round way one. The last ferry back departs at around 5pm. It took only about 15 min to travel. 🚌Then you can choose to explore the island by foot. But I recommend to immediately turn right to the bus station and purchase a ticket around the whole island. It’s very convenient as you can stop on your way at any stop, and continue at another next bus. So it works as a pass. There are many cute coffee and ice cream shops, beaches, caves and the most out favorite one is a lighthouse. 🌧️☀️It was rainy for us, what made it even more special. Spend half a day to hike and walk around the island of Cheung Chau despite the rain in Jul 2023. Highly recommend to try the fruit mochi (mango was awesome!) and the rice roll with dough fritter (dip with sesame sauce). Plenty of supermarket and 7-11 near the jetty so you can grab water easily. Would have loved to come earlier in the morning to hike and have lunch. There wasnt any great stores that caught my attention for dinner so we went back to main HK island instead. The Star Ferry is a must ride if you're in HK. It used to be one the few options to cross the harbor before the cross harbor tunnels were built. It is still the cheapest way to get from HK to Kowloon and vice versa. It is much slower than the MTR or bus, but it's much more scenic and fun! So do try it out if you have time. Along the way, you'll be treated with breathtaking views of the HK skyline. There is an open air section as well as an indoor air conditioned section. I recommend the outdoor section as the views are much better. If you are a fan of the Korean drama Crash Landing On You, you will surely recognise Panorama bridge Sigriswil as the location where the male and female leads first met each other. It became a popular tourist spot especially among Asians since then. Sigriswil panoramic bridge is a 340-m long suspension bridge above Gummischlucht gorge between Sigriswil and Aeschlen. It is accessible by public transport by taking bus 25 from Thun train station to Sigriswil, Dorf (the final stop). Crossing the bridge as a tourist is not free though. There's a ticket booth at the entrance of the bridge which collects CHF 6 per person, which contributes to funding for bridge maintenance. Even if you're not a fan of the drama, you can still visit this place for the magnificent vieww of the famous Bernese Oberland peaks, the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau, as well as Lake Thun. There are also some hiking trails nearby if you want to explore more than just the bridge. I am travelling from the sea port of Iloilo City to BREDCO Port in Bacolod City via Ocean Jet fast craft . The estimated travel time is one hour to one hour and thirty minutes. The distance between iloilo and bacolod is 42 kms. The tickets fare depends on the accomodation- open air for 550php, tourist class for 550php amd business class for 800php. I choose the airconditioned accomodation for tourist class. Ocean Jet is famous fast craft ferry service for its cleanliness, convenience amd comfort while travelling. If using road, people need to take a 40-kilometre drive from Kuala Lawas to the city. One way of the ferry trip takes about 15 mins. We didn’t have the time to go to the island but did see it from afar from the castle hill. This is where it took the Man in the Iron Mask 11 years to leave the tiny, forested St Marguerite Island. The mysterious individual was believed to be of noble blood, but his identity has never been proven. His cell can be visited in the Fort of St Marguerite, now renamed the Musée de la Mer (Museum of the Sea). This museum also houses discoveries from shipwrecks off the island, including Roman (1st century BC) and Saracen (10th century AD) ceramics.

Not only can I enjoy sailing past the Statue, I am also able to catch the breathtaking view of New York skyline on the way there. The Staten Island ferry is free so do not trust anyone that asks you to pay for it. The travel time in either direction between St. George (Staten Island) and Whitehall (Manhattan) is 25 minutes so you can enjoy the ferry ride in peace.
