Trip Moments Recommendations
Step back in time visiting Zhouzhuang Ancient town
Visiting China’s number one water town was definitely a must see on my 3 day trip to Suzhou
Definitely worth the 1.5 hour trip to and from!
It was nice to have some time to take photos before everyone arrived.. my ticket was for 7.30am-12pm and though I was rushing to arrive early, most shops didn't open until around 9am so don't recommend arriving so early unless you'd like to take photos with no people around
🗓️Itinerary Scheduling: I think this could possibly be a better view/experience in the afternoon/night time if you get the chance.. And l'd say half a day there is enough time to view!
🕰️ Business Hours: 7.30am to 8pm Year round
📍 Address: No.43, Quanfu Road, Zhouzhuang Town,
Kunshan City
🚉 Metro line 4 to Tongli Station and 25 minute DiDi ride ($10-15AUD one way)
💸 Average Price P/P : $21AUD (Children and seniors free)
🍛 Food and drink: Plenty of places to eat at and drink in the town including local snacks and drinks and also sit down rest and deserts, I recommend a visit for breakfast and lunch or lunch and dinner!

A Solo Encounter with Chengdu's Adorable Pandas
#chinatrip
My solo adventure to the Chengdu Panda Research Base was an absolute dream come true. As I stepped into the sanctuary, I was immediately captivated by the sight of these gentle giants.
The base is meticulously designed to provide a comfortable and stimulating environment for the pandas. I spent hours observing them as they lounged, played, and munched on bamboo shoots. It was truly a heartwarming experience to witness their playful antics and adorable expressions up close.
One of the highlights of my visit was the panda nursery. The tiny panda cubs were incredibly cute, and it was fascinating to learn about the dedicated efforts of the researchers to ensure their survival and well-being.
Beyond the pandas, the base also offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains and serene bamboo forests. I took a leisurely stroll through the park, enjoying the tranquility of the natural surroundings.
My solo trip to the Chengdu Panda Research Base was a truly unforgettable experience. It was a reminder of the importance of conservation efforts and the beauty of nature.

A Solo Retreat in the Misty Mountains of Emei Shan
#chinatrip
As a solo traveler, I've always been drawn to the tranquility of nature. My recent stay at the Ermei Ling Xi Hotel in Xichuan provided the perfect escape. Nestled amidst the misty mountains of Emei Shan, this serene retreat offered a much-needed break from the hustle and bustle of city life.
The hotel itself was a harmonious blend of traditional Chinese architecture and modern amenities. My room offered stunning views of the surrounding mountains, and the comfortable bed and plush pillows ensured a restful night's sleep.
One of the highlights of my stay was the opportunity to explore the nearby temples and hiking trails. The air was crisp and clean, and the sounds of nature were incredibly soothing. I spent hours wandering through ancient forests, admiring the breathtaking scenery, and soaking up the peaceful atmosphere.
In the evenings, I would relax in the hotel's cozy lounge, sipping on a cup of tea and reading a good book. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, making me feel right at home.

Singapore in a Relaxed Way
Our Singaporean friends often tell us that Singapore is a City of Gardens. This statement is not an exaggeration. Although the city is filled with tall buildings and modern structures, there are trees and gardens hidden throughout the city.
On this trip to Singapore, we tried cycling for about 10 kilometers, starting from East Coast Park and ending at Marina Bay.
💞Reasons to Recommend:
- The cycling route is very shady and beautiful, passing through public parks where you can stop to take photos with the Singapore Flyer in the background.
- Enjoy the evening atmosphere at Marina Barrage, where locals spend time with their families. This is our favorite spot in Singapore, and we make sure to visit every time we come.
Tips:
- To avoid the heat and sunlight, it's best to cycle in the evening before sunset.
- Don't forget a hat, sunglasses, and a light jacket to protect yourself from the sun.
Penang: No matter how many times, it always impresses.
Penang is another city that we really love.
This is the second time we've traveled to Penang, and it still impresses us as always. The city is beautiful, the people are lovely, and they are kind to tourists.
💞Reasons to recommend:
- The charm of Penang lies in its perfect blend of cultural diversity.
- The food is diverse, especially the street food, which is a true paradise for foodies.
- The street art reflects the unique character of the locals.
🗓️Travel planning:
1) From Thailand: Travel by plane from DMK -> PEN
2) Tourist attractions:
2.1) Penang Street Art
2.2) Kimberly Street Food
2.3) Little India
2.4) Wat Chaiyamangkalaram
Tips:
- The weather in Penang is quite hot and humid. Sunscreen, sunglasses, and hats are essential.
- Getting around in Penang: You can take the bus or travel by taxi.
Yutoku Inari Shrine in the rain
Yutoku Inari Shrine is located in Saga Prefecture.
It is said to be one of the three largest Inari shrines in Japan.
On the day we went, it rained since morning, so there were not many people. The atmosphere was quite quiet, but it was beautiful in another way.
After getting off the bus, the path to the shrine was full of cherry blossoms in full bloom. It was a pity that they fell in the rain.
How to get there: Take the JR train and get off at Hizen-Kashima Station, then take the bus to the shrine.

Exploring Niushoushan: Nature, History, and the Stunning Usnisa Palace!
Recently, I visited Niushoushan Scenic Area in Nanjing, a place that caught my curiosity with its blend of natural beauty and rich history. From the breathtaking Usnisa Palace to scenic pathways and a peaceful atmosphere, the experience was refreshing and enlightening. Here’s a look at how my day unfolded.
I arrived at Niushoushan around 9:30 a.m. and took a quick bus ride up the mountain for just 10 RMB—a small price for an amazing view. From there, I took an elevator up and headed straight to the highlight of the site: the magnificent Usnisa Palace (1).
The palace is absolutely stunning, with a design that fuses modern architecture and traditional Buddhist art. Shaped like a lotus flower—a symbol of purity in Buddhism—it felt as though the structure was rising naturally from the mountain itself. Inside, I found the Sleeping Buddha in the heart of the palace (2), surrounded by intricate carvings and murals. At one point, the Buddha statue vanished, replaced by a stage for a mesmerizing dance performance. It was a unique and surprising experience that added a magical touch.
Afterward, I joined the crowd heading to the underground Ten Thousand-Buddha Corridor—a corridor lined with thousands of Buddha statues, each one unique and awe-inspiring (3).
After exiting the underground palace, I found myself in an area with several restaurants and souvenir shops—a perfect place to rest and grab a bite if you need it. Just beyond, I reached the towering Foding Pagoda, a 9-story structure that stands as a beacon of devotion and artistry (4). Climbing to the ninth floor was definitely worth it, as I was rewarded with a stunning Buddha statue and panoramic views of Niushoushan and the surrounding cityscape (5,6). Each floor offered something special, from Buddhist art to fascinating historical displays, making the climb an experience in itself.
After a few hours of exploring, I was content and ready to head home. I spent about three hours at Niushoushan, but the experience can easily take more or less time, depending on how deep you want to dive into each part of the scenic area.
Niushoushan is a true gem, blending cultural history with natural beauty and a calm, introspective atmosphere. Whether you’re a fan of Buddhist art, scenic mountain views, or just looking for a peaceful escape, Niushoushan is well worth the visit!

They provide great western breakfast varieties to choose from, and staffs are helpful and friendly. Head out to take a train ride to the city, takes around half an hour to Rosenborg Castle. You may see life guards guarding the Danish treasury since 400 years ago. It takes around at least one and half hour to complete the castle visits. For lunch recommendations, suggest to go to Torvehallerne Market, it’s an indoor market and semi outdoor place selling urban produces food and drinks. A must try danish open-faced sandwich,Smørrebrød which comes in lots of variety and danish wine. The market has lots of different food and drinks choices, which you may pick from. Next let’s head to Glyptoteket, which present artworks exhibition and cultural-historical objects. Time needed at least one and half hour to explore the whole. You can buy a Glyptoteket token at the coin machine in the cloakroom for 20 DKK using a credit card. After your visit you can return the coin in the machine and get a refund of your money or my choice I kept the token as souvenir. Let’s take a stroll towards Church of Our Lady, you may sightseeing before opening hours before 5pm.
Please note that there is no sightseeing allowed during service. Through walking in the town area, we proceed to Round tower in the evening to catch the sunset overcast at the city view. Enjoying the fresh Autumn air at The Summer Palace 🏯
#historicallandmarks #solotravel #beijing #autumn ##Summer Palace
As this was my second trip to Beijing, I decided to make a visit to a lesser known but by no means unimpressive historical landmark, The Summer Palace.
The general admission fee was only 20RMB and there are additional fees for viewing other facilities should you wish to do so, however these are currently under maintenance.
I recommend taking around 3 hours to fully enjoy the experience, as it still a popular landmark there is congestion at certain walking points and is rather hilly in some areas.
The park has several amenities to enjoy a quick snack or drink and the bathrooms are neat and well maintained.
Easily accessible from the Line 4 Metro Line, I highly recommend making the visit should your itinerary allow it!

5 Tips for an Amazing WhaleShark Experience in Oslob
1. Wake up early: I had to get up really early-around 3 AM-to make the journey from Cebu to Oslob. It's absolutely worth it! Not only are the whale sharks more active during the early hours (it's basically their breakfast time!), but getting there early means fewer people and more peaceful encounters.
2. Arrive before the crowds: If you're planning to go from Cebu to Oslob, definitely aim to beat the crowds. By the time I arrived, a few people were already there, but it gets much busier later in the day. The earlier you get there, the more relaxed and magical the experience will be.
3. Well-organized system: I was surprised by how organized everything was in Oslob. From the moment we registered to the safety briefing and then getting on the boat, it was all smooth and professional. The locals and guides know what they're doing, and it made the whole experience that much better, especially knowing the whale sharks were being cared for too.
4. Once-in-a-lifetime experience: Swimming with the whale sharks in Oslob was absolutely surreal. These gentle giants are enormous, and being able to swim beside them was awe-inspiring. It's something I'd recommend to anyone visiting Cebu-truly a bucket list moment.
5. Some final tips: Bring a waterproof camera or, if you don't have one, there are local shops in Oslob where you can rent cameras and snorkeling gear. It's also a good idea to rent some accessories like fins or masks if you didn't bring your own. And don't forget to listen to the guides-they're super helpful in making sure everything runs smoothly and respectfully.
