[Hokkaido] It looks like a pure white fan spread out
📍Shiraougi Falls, Hokkaido
Shiraougi Falls is 15m high and 18m wide, and the water falls opens like a fan, creating a pure white mist and bubbles, hence the name.

📍 Otaru, Hokkaido
A 10-minute walk from Otaru Station, there is a LeTAO with a lovely atmosphere that matches the atmosphere of Otaru.
I went there to buy the Otaruta, which is only available at this store, but it was already sold out by around 5 o'clock.
Although the opening hours are long, I recommend going early.
The Basque cheesecake made with mascarpone served in a choux pastry dish is sure to be delicious.
There are limited souvenirs that you can't buy at the airport, so I thought it would be fun to go to the store.

Hokkaido: Steller's Sea Eagles, White-Tailed Eagles, and Rausu's Drift Ice
In Hokkaido, you can observe Steller's sea eagles and white-tailed eagles, which are designated as national natural treasures, from the drift ice ship in Rausu. The ship's broadcast informs you of the direction in which the birds are flying when they are spotted, which is very helpful. I was thrilled to see a Steller's sea eagle flying overhead. Observing drift ice and wild birds is a special winter activity, so be sure to check it out. Highly recommended.

[Hokkaido Odori Park] Ginkgo tour at night, feel the tranquility of autumn night
#ginkgo
🌃At night, I came to Odori Park in Hokkaido. The ginkgo trees here showed a different style against the light. 🍂The golden leaves sparkle in the night, as if the whole world has been dyed with a warm color. 👣I walked under the ginkgo tree, stepping on the soft fallen leaves, with the gentle sound of wind and distant traffic in my ears. Everything seemed so peaceful and beautiful. Looking up at the sky, the stars are dotted, and the lights on the ground complement each other, making people feel like they are in a dream world.

🌄 Finally arrived at Hokkaido's Atama Daibutsu Hall, a renowned Buddhist sanctuary! 🏯 Stepping inside, the towering Buddha statue immediately catches the eye, radiating golden light, exuding compassion and solemnity, making one instinctively slow down, afraid to disturb the sanctity and tranquility.
🍂 Outside the hall, the autumn breeze of Hokkaido gently blows, the leaves rustling as if telling the long history and legendary stories of this place. I strolled through the garden, feeling the Buddhist culture from a foreign land, filled with awe and emotion.

🌃As night falls, I step into Hokkaido's Tanukikoji Shopping Street, where the lights are dazzling and the lively atmosphere is palpable, filled with a strong exotic vibe. 🏮Walking along the bustling street, the array of shops on both sides is overwhelming. From specialty snacks to exquisite accessories, from fashionable clothing to authentic souvenirs, there's everything you could want, making you eager to explore each one. 🍜Of course, how could you visit Tanukikoji without tasting the local delicacies? I walked into a small shop and ordered a steaming bowl of ramen. The rich broth and chewy noodles instantly made me feel the warmth and deliciousness of Hokkaido.

An ancient steam clock outside the Otaru Music Box shop, built in bronze, is controlled by a computer to make the boiler boil to produce steam.

Noboribetsu Jigokudani in Winter
The crater formed by volcanic activity looks like 'Hell where demons live,' hence the name Jigokudani (Hell Valley). It's a rare sight where the demon at the entrance is covered in snow, but there is no snow at the bottom of the valley, while the mountains are snow-covered. Hokkaido | Visit the Sacred Site of Golden Kamuy, Abashiri Prison.
The manga 'Golden Kamuy,' which has been adapted into movies and dramas, is a hot topic.
I'm a big fan too, and the setting of the manga, which includes the important cultural properties of the prison cells and the central watchtower, is here at 'Abashiri Prison.'
Seeing the same scenery as in the manga right before my eyes made my heart swell with emotion. Shiraishi~!
I'd love to hear from fellow fans in the comments, haha.
This time, I visited because of the manga, but as I took my time to go around and read the explanations, it also became an opportunity to learn about various histories.
There were inhumane events and tragedies, but on top of that, there is the current Japan, Hokkaido, and our lives.
'From records to memories, in doing so, the prisoners who lost their lives might be redeemed.'
These words were very heavy.
The museum is spacious, rich in nature, and I even saw Ezo squirrels running around.
And if you come here, you must visit the 'Prison Cafeteria.'
You can eat meals that are recreated from what was actually served at Abashiri Prison.
And it was surprisingly delicious♡ Maybe because it's Hokkaido??

Enjoy nature on a trip to Eastern Hokkaido
Recommended spots in Eastern Hokkaido (tourism)
Here are some recommended sightseeing spots in Teshikaga Town 🍀*゜
[Recommended spots]
1. Lake Mashu
A caldera lake surrounded by mountains on all sides. The water from the lake is used as water for daily life in the surrounding area.
The view from the second observation deck is recommended 👀
If you're lucky...
You can see a sea of clouds in the morning and a starry sky at night ✨
2. Mount Iou
One of the active volcanoes that is still active.
You can walk close to the sulfur crater 🙆♀️
3. Lake Kussharo Eco Tours
Canoe tour down the Kushiro River that connects to Lake Kussharo.
You can take photos and dip your feet in the water while listening to the guide's explanation.
It was a time to feel nature 🙌
4. Bihoro Pass
Bihoro Pass is located on a small hill.
You can look down on the vast Lake Kussharo and get a real sense of the lake's vastness.
There is a monument to Misora Hibari's song "Bihoro Pass".
5. Kaminoko Pond
It is called "Kaminoko" Pond because it is made from underground water from Lake Mashu.
The water temperature is said to be maintained at 8℃ throughout the year💭
I was surprised at how ice cold the water was👀
[Other points]
★Parking tickets for Lake Mashu + Mt. Iou are available.
You can park your car in both parking lots by paying 500 yen at each parking lot.
★Insect repellent is essential (from summer to autumn)
If you are going to Kaminoko Pond, insect repellent spray is a must! There are a lot of horseflies, so be sure to take measures against insects...

Beautiful Autumn Leaves at Hokkaido University
Today, I happened to pass by Hokkaido University and was amazed by the beautiful autumn leaves here. The afternoon sunlight illuminates the leaves, making the red leaves glow brilliantly. I saw many couples and families taking photos to capture the moment, creating a very warm atmosphere. For those planning to visit, remember that the sunset in Hokkaido is around 4:30 PM, so it's recommended to visit around 1 PM for the best experience.

📍The Lake View TOYA Nonokaze Resort

《Facilities》
All rooms have a lake view overlooking Lake Toya
When you enter the room, Lake Toya jumps right in front of you😍
The windows are continuous from the floor, so if the weather is good, it's the best location!!
Unfortunately, it was raining so we couldn't see very well, but it was wonderful💕
It was our wedding anniversary that day.
There was a message and sweets in the room, which was very kind. 🙏🏿
《Hot Spring》
When you go up to the roof from the large public bath on the top floor, you will find an open-air bath in the sky💕💕
The hot spring water flows down from the bathtub onto the lake, giving you a wonderful feeling of openness.
I was very impressed by the amazing view😍.
《Meals》
You can enjoy a wide variety of buffets at the restaurant with a panoramic view of Lake Toya.
There are so many different dishes prepared freshly by chefs of Japanese, Western, and Chinese cuisine that it's hard to choose.
Soup curry, steak, tempura, ramen, and more.
Sweets made by the in-house pastry chef are popular!
You can enjoy a variety of sweets according to the season.
On this day, we had a dish using pistachios.
It was incredibly delicious.
On birthdays and anniversaries, a full bottle of wine and cake are served.
Souvenirs
Hokkaido's nature captured in a single piece of glass.
North One Glass Jewelry is a brand that evokes the natural beauty of the land, and they offer handmade glass jewelry.
My son gave it to me when I went to Hokkaido before, and I loved the teardrop-shaped necklace with snowflakes in it, so I definitely wanted to buy it when I came here.
It has a design of Hokkaido's nature on it, so I was wondering which one to choose this time, but I chose the limited edition Lake Toya design.
I couldn't find it in any souvenir shops in Otaru, so maybe it's only available at the hotel? I'm not sure, but if you come across it, be sure to pick one up.

Susukino, one of Japan's three major entertainment districts.
Susukino is famous for the Nikka Whisky sign. Tourists from both Japan and abroad visit Susukino at night to see the flashy neon lights. It's about a 20-minute walk from Sapporo Station, and the Nikka Whisky sign is right outside the Susukino Station exit on the Namboku Subway Line, so keep that in mind if you plan to visit. The ramen you eat to cap off the night is also fantastic. Along with Tokyo's Kabukicho and Fukuoka's Nakasu, Susukino is considered one of Japan's top three entertainment districts and is a must-see spot in Sapporo.

[Hokkaido] Hoshino Resorts Tomamu - A resort where you can experience sea of clouds, nature, pools, and activities
Hoshino Resorts Tomamu The Tower is full of resort vibes.
A landmark hotel with brown and green twin towers.
The pools, spas, and activities are scattered across a vast area, so buses run every hour to get to each location.
The baths are in the same building as Japan's largest wave pool, "Minamina Beach." The glass-walled building is always over 30 degrees, giving it a perfect resort feel.
Right in front of the tower is a vast pasture.
You can get up close to the grazing cows and sheep, and there are hammocks, photo spots, a goat postman, and more. It's so spacious that you can even rent a cart.
You can experience a resort experience filled with the natural charm of Hokkaido.
And the main attraction here is the sea of clouds.
There are many spots where you can experience the sea of clouds up close.
You can feel like you're walking on the clouds, and there is also an observation spot that juts out like the bow of a ship, where you can take photos that look like a scene from a movie.
It is built to jut out from the ground,
and offers a vast view in many directions.
It is structured like a suspension bridge, and sways slightly when you walk on it, so you can feel as if you are floating on the clouds while admiring the scenery.
You can send mail anywhere in the world from the blue sea of clouds mailbox above the clouds.

Encounter Penguin Walk at Asahiyama Zoo
In winter, you can see the adorable penguin walk at Asahiyama Zoo.
You can watch them waddle close up.
The daily walk times are 11:00 and 14:30, don't miss it!
Additionally, there are many other cute animals in the zoo!
This time, I saw a hippo blowing bubbles while sleeping.
In the lion area, every cat behaves like a big cat, even rolling over and folding their paws.
The wolves, on the other hand, sleep like pet dogs at home.
Many online reviews say that the zoo is too small and the animals exhibit stereotypical behaviors.
However, after visiting, I found that the zoo has improved a lot.
Many areas are being renovated and expanded.
There is a direct bus from Asahikawa city center, costing 500 yen per person, which is very convenient!

This park stretches 1.5km from Odori Nishi 1-chome to Odori Nishi 12-chome in the center of Sapporo. It was built in 1871. The beautiful flower beds and lawns are very relaxing, even though it's in the city.
It's a popular tourist spot in Sapporo, visited by many tourists as well as locals.
It's also a popular event venue, and when I visited, the Sapporo Summer Festival was being held and a beer garden was being held.
In winter, it is also one of the venues for the Sapporo Snow Festival.

Recommended Autumn Foliage Spots: Biei, Hokkaido
Hokkaido, the first place in Honshu to experience autumn foliage

Moerenuma Park is a famous tourist spot in Sapporo. It is a popular spot with beautiful glass architecture like the Louvre Museum on a vast land. A Summer Story of Falling in Love with Noboribetsu, Hokkaido
Noboribetsu Onsen is about an hour by train from New Chitose Airport in Hokkaido.
The Hell Valley tour in Noboribetsu is grand in scale and has a different charm compared to Beppu Onsen!
It's a strange sight to see water flowing like a river, but it's all hot spring water.
Well, the tourist spots were great, but that's not why I fell in love with Noboribetsu!
It's not just Noboribetsu, but the food in Hokkaido is delicious!
The guesthouse I stayed at in Noboribetsu had a friendly owner, was close to the station, had cooking facilities, and there was a nearby co-op with super delicious and cheap seafood. I fell in love with the everyday life packed with such experiences in Noboribetsu.
It's these special encounters that make me love traveling.
Winter Trip to Hakodate
Hakodate is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Hokkaido. As soon as you arrive at Hakodate Station, you're greeted by a vast expanse of white snow, which is truly a sight to behold. The snow-covered Hakodate Station looks particularly charming! ❄️❄️😍
Visiting Hakodate in winter is especially beautiful. You can fully enjoy the fairy-tale-like scenery of snow-covered streets. In the bay area near the red brick warehouses, you can also witness the most anticipated winter festival, featuring a giant Christmas tree and lighting events. The romantic atmosphere makes it easy to enjoy all the beauty this place has to offer. 😍🎄📷❄️
Otaru Attractions|Otaru Canal, an important commercial and trade center in Hokkaido during the Meiji period
#100 Ways to Travel
#Otaru City is one of the important attractions that must be visited in #Hokkaido. It is suitable for traveling all year round. #Otaruport is a Hokkaido trading base completed in 1923. With the renovation of the port terminal, it is no longer used for transportation, but these stone warehouses along the canal still retain the style of Otaru's most prosperous period at that time, and these stone warehouses have also become popular tourist attractions. Every year during the #Sapporo Snow Festival, special snow lanterns are lit around the #Otaru Canal. If you have the opportunity, you should arrange to stay in Otaru for a night and experience the Otaru Canal after it is lit up at night.
Transportation guide: Starting from #Sapporo City Center, take the Hakodate Main Line "Suburban Rapid Train" from JR Sapporo Station to JR Otaru Station, which takes about 50 minutes; or start from New Chitose Airport and take the "Rapid Airport Line" from JR Sapporo Station (Rapid Express) and get off at JR Otaru Station. The journey takes about 30 minutes. Ordinary trains are also available, and the journey takes about an hour. If you don’t want to be crowded, you can also choose the JR Sapporo Station Bus Center and take the Otaru express bus, which takes about 70 minutes. For the return trip, take the Chuo Bus No. 1 (passing by Maruyama) or No. 2 (passing Hokkaido University) in front of JR Otaru Station, and the end point is Sapporo Station. Especially when the train is stopped during a snowstorm, rush to the bus stop to see if it is running.
I took the shuttle express from JR Sapporo Station to JR#MinamiOtaru Station at around 10 a.m. in February. The weather was fine after leaving the station, but there was a lot of snow along the way. It was close to noon and I could go shopping at #Sakaimachi Street. (Otaru Sakai-machi Street), have lunch and then visit Otaru Music Box Hall (オルゴール堂), Kitaichi Glass Museum, Otaru Gasoline Steam Clock, Otaru Romance Museum, Taisho Glass Museum, and others such as Rikkatei and Kitaikaro Waiting is also nearby. Because the shopping street is about 700 meters away from the Otaru Canal, in order to avoid unnecessary walking, it is recommended that if you get off at Otaru Station, you first visit the Otaru Canal, then go to the Sakaimachi Street shopping street, and then return to Sapporo from Minami-Otaru Station. I got off the train at JR Minami-Otaru Station. I visited the Sakai-machi shopping street first. After I had a full meal, I walked to the Otaru Canal to take pictures of the snow. After the Otaru Canal was lit up at night and took pictures, I immediately returned to JR Otaru Station and took the bus back to Sapporo Station. If you just want to visit the area around the Otaru Canal, just enter and exit JR Otaru Station. But I encountered a snowstorm on my return trip. Fortunately, the train was delayed and many people were crowded in the station. Otaru during the day has a different romance than Otaru at night. February is a good month for #snow-appreciation and light viewing.
The Beautiful Ski Resort: Mount Yotei and Niseko.
This time, I spontaneously decided to go skiing in Hokkaido 🤣
I almost didn't do any research and chose the ski resort just by looking at the scenery.
Although the expenses in Niseko are relatively high, I think it's totally worth it to ski with a view of Mount Yotei.
Some people mentioned that the slopes here might not be very beginner-friendly,
but I felt it was fine. I had a great time learning to snowboard for the first time.
If you plan to come here for skiing, I highly recommend staying nearby or in Otaru.
Otherwise, it's really far to come from Sapporo 🤣
