Checked out The Daily Fix in Malacca and I totally see why it’s the most popular cafe on Jonker Street! The vibe here is super cozy with such charming decor—it’s like stepping into a different era. Mamee’s 1st open concept store in Melaka!
#voyagevibes
#localguides #mamee
#melaka #malacca
Mamee is no stranger to locals who have grown up eating the noodles, mostly as a snack. It’s part of our early childhood days and now we got to relive those memories by visiting the first ever open concept store in the heart of the historic city of Melaka where Mamee started their first manufacturing of the product.
The store has a wide varieties of iconic noodles (even chef version) and chips. The main highlight is the DIY souvenir cup which you can color and then bring it to the counter to choose your fav seasonings and they will pack it for you to take as souvenir.
The walls are adorned with noodles and this activity seems to be popular with families who can spend quality time with their kids.
My Malaysia Adventure - A Journey Through Culture and Nature
I started my trip in Kuala Lumpur, where the vibrant mix of modernity and tradition truly captivated me. Exploring the iconic Petronas Towers and strolling through the lively streets of Chinatown was exhilarating. The energy of KL is infectious, and the street food? Absolutely unforgettable! One important Tip: Stay near the city center to make the most of your time-everything is within walking distance!
From there, I made my way to Malacca, a city rich in history and charm. Walking through the colorful streets felt like stepping back in time. I highly recommend taking the Malacca River Cruise at sunset; the views are simply breathtaking! One very important Tip: Don't miss out on Jonker Street for delicious street food and unique local crafts.
Next, I headed to Kota Kinabalu, a paradise for beach lovers. The stunning beaches are perfect for relaxing, swimming, and soaking up the sun. I also had an amazing experience visiting Mari Mari Village, where I learned about the local indigenous cultures and traditions. One last important Tip: Make sure to try the traditional food served there-it's a culinary delight!

Melaka’s Famous Signature Dish - Chicken Rice Ball
#eatlikealocal #chickenriceball #malacca #melaka
When you’re in Malacca (Melaka, Malaysia’s Heritage city), the first thing you should try is the chicken rice ball. There’s a story behind how dish became popular with fishermen who had no time to eat because time was money and had to have food that was easily available so they can gobble it up while they hurried to work.
A wife of a Melakan fisherman who was detained and had to earn money for herself sold chicken rice at the port and quickly realized the potential sales of chicken rice balls if the shape of Chicken rice balls were made into compact bite sized pieces. This proved practical for these fishermen and were quickly popular.

Malacca Marvels: A Tapestry of Heritage 🛕
"Malacca, a tapestry of history and culture woven into every cobblestone street and vibrant alley. As I roamed through the UNESCO-listed Old Town, the echoes of centuries past whispered tales of trade, colonization, and resilience. The vibrant hues of Peranakan architecture adorned with intricate details told a story of cultural fusion.
Exploring Jonker Street, I was entranced by the lively market atmosphere. From antique shops to street food stalls, it was a sensory journey through the heart of Malacca's vibrant heritage. The aroma of Nyonya delicacies lingered, inviting me to savor the unique flavors of this culinary haven.
A visit to the historic Stadthuys and A Famosa fort transported me to an era of European influence, standing as silent witnesses to the city's storied past. The Red Square, with its iconic Christ Church, painted a picturesque scene against the azure sky.
A river cruise along the Malacca River was a tranquil escape, revealing the city's charm from a different perspective. The colorful murals adorning riverside buildings added an artistic touch to the journey, showcasing Malacca's embrace of contemporary creativity.
Sampling the diverse street food was a highlight – from the savory chicken rice balls to the sweet cendol, each bite was a celebration of Malaysia's culinary diversity. The vibrant night market further animated the city, creating a lively ambiance as locals and visitors alike indulged in the evening festivities.
In the heart of it all, the majestic Sultanate Palace stood as a testament to Malacca's royal history. The traditional architecture and cultural exhibits offered a glimpse into the rich tapestry of Malaysian heritage.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm glow over the Straits of Malacca, I reflected on the day's adventures. Malacca, with its fusion of history, culture, and gastronomy, had left an indelible mark on my soul. Each corner told a story, and every encounter was a chapter in the vibrant narrative of this UNESCO World Heritage city. Until we meet again, Malacca! #MalaccaAdventures #CulturalJourney #travel #tripstars #malacca

Colourful and Vibrant Night Market
Jonker Walk is in the Chinatown area in Malacca. It starts from across Malacca River and the street is filled with historical houses along its left and right sides. Many of which are shops selling antiques, textiles, foods, handicrafts and souvenirs such as keychains and shirts.
Jonker Walk turns into a night market every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 6 p.m. until 12 midnight. Dont worry about safety as its street blocked for traffic.
There are a huge range of wonderful things to buy and eat here. You’ll find stalls selling everything from souvenirs, food produce, clothing, toys, jewellery and accessories, temporary tattoos, art prints. Food such as coconut ice-cream, curried fish balls, pineapple tart and steamed buns can be found here. There are so many things to do and eat at Jonker Street Night Market.
We found many stalls at Jonker Street Night Market selling very unique gifts that we’ve not seen before in any other night market in south east Asia and we would say Jonker Street is definitely one of our favourites.
