A must-visit gem💚
One of the most iconic viewpoints in Vang Vieng is undoubtedly Nam Xay Viewpoint. This stunning spot is a must-visit during your trip. It is famous for its motorbike at the top of the mountain, surrounded by breathtaking landscapes and lush nature.
The hike to the viewpoint can be quite challenging, with steep and muddy paths. If you have knee problems, I recommend considering an alternative, such as Horkham Viewpoint, which is located nearby and offers an easier trek.
Overall, Nam Xay Viewpoint is a fantastic destination that provides unforgettable panoramic views. I really enjoyed my time there!

An autumn viewing hiking adventure at Ulsanbawi near Seoraksan
#hikingtrails #100waysoftravel
It is autumn season and there are many great spots to view the autumn foliages, especially mountain areas. As such, I went to Seoraksan mountain area to hike the Ulsanbawi trail, which is one of the most challenging trail there. It comprises six granite peaks making up the spectacular view on top. You start your journey at Sinheungsa temple, and you hike along the forest trail with very nice maple leaves, and the challenging part arrives where there is a series of stairway to hike the rocky cliffs, and towards the end you need to use the rope to hike the rocks to reach the top. Finally there will be only stairs and platform for you to walk and the view is stunningly beautiful with the foliages at the background, which worth the strenuous hike.
An autymn foliage hiking trails of Bukhansan from Doseonsa
#hikingtrails #100waysoftravel
Its autumn season now and the foliage is at its peak at Bukhansan, and the best hiking trail is the Baekundae trails which starts from Doseonsa, from Bukhansan Ui. We started our jouney at 9.30am and hikrd for around two and a half hours to the Beakundae peak. The trail has lots of stunningly beautiful maple foliages, and you can't wait to snap pictures at every corner. This trail can be rather challenging but we just need to follow the rules and instructions to hike the trails. The foliage scenery is very beautiful, and we are glad to arrive at the correct time where the foliages are at its peak now. We hiked for a total of 5 hours to and fro, with tiring and satisfying body.
🇰🇷 Volcanic Vistas: The Journey Up to Seongsan Ilchulbong
#hikingtrails #100waysoftravel
Discover the breathtaking Seongsan Ilchulbong hiking trail, a UNESCO World Heritage site on Jeju Island. Known as "Sunrise Peak," this ancient volcanic crater offers stunning views of the ocean and surrounding landscape. The hike is about 1.4 kilometers and takes approximately 30 to 50 minutes to reach the summit, making it accessible for most outdoor enthusiasts.
As we ventured deeper into the hike, the sky grew increasingly cloudier, and by the time we reached the peak, raindrops began to fall. Despite the sudden downpour, we were thrilled to reach the summit, capturing the views before quickly descending due to safety reasons. The experience was both exhilarating and a reminder of nature's unpredictability.

#hikingtrails#100waysoftravel#nationalpark#johor
Mount Ophir or better known as Gunung Ledang is a popular hiking spot which nestled in Taman Negara Gunung Ledang, Tangkak District, Johor, Malaysia.
This was my first time to hike Mount Ophir and quite a tough mission. Ensure to spend at least 8 hours to hike this highest mountain in Johor(stands 1276m). The Lagenda trail to the peak is pretty challenging, the trail was well equipped with sturdy ladders and ropes, reflectors and signboards/maps. Over 30 ladders to climb, and 2 rock scaling to reach the peak.
There are 2 bathing places, one is Kolam Mahligai, then go up a little and there is a beautiful and peaceful waterfall is Air Terjun Sungai Air Putih. Truly enjoy the breathtaking scenery and cooling fresh air on the peak. Overall it was an exciting and memorable experience!

Morning Magic in Arashiyama: Bamboo Trails, River Serenity, and the Perfect Coffee Break
#hikingtrails #japan #kyoto
Arashiyama, a peaceful town nestled on the outskirts of Kyoto, offers an enchanting escape into nature and tradition. My day began with a refreshing morning hike through the famous Bamboo Grove, a serene path lined with towering green stalks that sway gently in the wind. The morning light filtering through the bamboo created a magical, almost ethereal atmosphere. It’s no wonder this place has been cherished by locals and visitors alike for centuries. Historically, the Arashiyama Bamboo Forest was part of the surrounding temple gardens, symbolizing strength and resilience, and it continues to be one of Kyoto’s most iconic sights today.
After about 30 minutes in the forest, I followed the path up to a scenic hill overlooking the Katsura River. From the hilltop, I could see boats gracefully drifting down the stream, a scene that felt straight out of a traditional Japanese painting. This spot has long been a beloved area for boating, particularly during the Heian period when it was a popular pastime for the nobility. The pristine water and untouched surroundings make it feel like stepping back in time. For travelers, this view is a quiet reminder of Kyoto’s natural beauty and history.
Descending the hill, I wandered into Arashiyama’s charming streets, where human-pulled rickshaws—called “jinrikisha”—still transport tourists. These rickshaws are more than just a nostalgic ride; they are a nod to the past, a reminder of Japan’s transportation history from the late 19th century, offering a leisurely way to take in the town’s beauty. You can see the hard work and pride in the pullers as they guide you through the picturesque scenery.
To end my morning, I joined a queue at % Arabica, a café known for its superb coffee and minimalist design. The wait was well worth it, and sipping my coffee while gazing at the calm streets was a perfect conclusion to this tranquil journey. Arashiyama, with its stunning landscapes, historical richness, and modern touches, is not just a place to visit—it’s an experience of Kyoto’s enduring charm and serenity.
Whether you’re an early riser looking for a quiet hike or a culture enthusiast eager to explore Japan’s history, Arashiyama offers a seamless blend of both. Its cleanliness and careful preservation add to the town’s allure, making it a truly magnificent morning escape.
