Things you can do for Taipei 5D4N Trip

If you have 5 days in Taipei, here something you can do: Day1: Arrived at Taipei Taoyuan Airport in the morning, take trains to Taipei Station, have breakfast and walking trip under street of Taipei Station, take train to 101 Tower, then go to Xi Men Ding district to eat and shopping, at the evening check in hotel and go to Shilin Night Market to have dinner. Day 2: JiuFen Shifen Trip. Suggest to go to JiuFen first (top of hill) as this location is harder to get public transport in the evening. At JiuFen you can enjoy nice meal and do some shopping here. Then you can headed to Shifen. If you want to to visit waterfall you can go earlier other wise come to Shifen railway station during evening is nice to light up the sky lantern with your wishes and send to the air. At night, Jilong Night Market have the best food you can taste. Day 3: Today is hot spring spa day, Beitou district day. Here you can have a nice walk with the local morning market, public library, spa museum, and highly recommend to pick a nice place for spa. I picked Huang Chi Spa / Emperor Spa as they have a unique natural hot spring with natural radium mineral from underground volcanic. Then at night, can visit Raohe St. Night Market, which is the oldest and unique night market for good food. Day 4: Is Tamsui district day. Is a very relax walk by the famous Fisherman’s Wharf harbour. Enjoy some local delicacies, shopping for souvenirs and enjoy your walk along the riverbanks. At night can go to Ningxia night market for food. Day 5: the last day if your flight at evening or night, you can do some final shopping at WuFenPu near the city. Is a fashion clothes wholesale area where you can do some fashion shopping with good price. You may also spend some good time to shop around Taipei Station underground shopping district and have some nice food. First Stop in Taipei - Ning Xia night market

After long hours of flight, done for check in, our first stop was Ning Xia Night Market. A lots of food I miss, it’s time to enjoy night market’s good. It is walking distance from our hotel, which our hotel is walking distance from Taipei Main Station, about 10 minutes walk. Many choices here, just walk from beginning til the end. My personal suggestion is, if you see something that you would like to eat, just grab it. No need to have second walk, this will save a lot of time for queuing and crowded. Ningxia!

In northern China lies the autonomous region of Ningxia which mostly characterised by sweeping sand dunes that go on for miles! I’ve been twice (January and June). In January, most of the desert and fresh water is completely frozen over which is quite surreal for a desert. 4X4 cars were able to drive over the oasis because it was so solidly frozen. In the summer, it can become quite warm but still comfortable enough to camp overnight. There are camel rides available although we chose to hike. Away from the same dunes, you can find wine vineyards and pretty mountains. A great place for nature lovers #ningxia #mountainview #deserts #china

Guyuan Ancient City

Location: Ningxia province. Getting there: A short train ride from Xi'an or Yinchuan city. This small city is not a tourist spot but it's one of my favourite cities to walk around in China. There is an ancient city wall, a bell tower to visit and some delicious BBQ meat places to eat. There is a good Atour hotel in the center of the city to stay in. Most of the sights are walkable so no need to worry about taxis or buses. #guyuan #ningxia

Helan Rocky Mountains!

Location: Helan Mountain Reserve near Yinchuan city in Ningxia province. Helan Mountain is a north-south mountain range located in the boundary of Ningxia and Inner Mongolia which is an important geographical boundary in northwestern China. It stretches 220 km (137 mi) from north to south. We took the cable car up and down. Not expensive and you get stunning views on the way. These mountains are unique and you can spend the whole day looking at the deers and watching the mountain tops. #helanmountain #yinchuan #ningxia

Colourful City Oasis

Location: Yinchuan city, Ningxia province. Chinese name: 阅海湾水上公园 English name: Yinchuan Water Park This park has a beautifully large lake that is stunning with the reflections of the buildings and flowers. I went several times at sunset to see the wonderful colours in the early summer evenings. Getting there: This lake is located in the center of Yinchuan city. Yinchuan is easily accessible via fast train and plane. #yinchuan #ningxia

The 66 Highway

Location: One hour from Zhongwei city in Ningxia province. Chinese name: 66号公路,中卫市沙坡头区 This is an Instagram worthy highway road that is absolutely breathtaking. The road winds through the rolling mountains and near the Yellow River, attracting tourists keen on its rough and beautiful scenery and gaining a reputation as Zhongwei’s ‘Route 66’, one of the most famous roads in America. #66highway #zhongwei #ningxia

Swan lake - red lake (Tengger desert tour)

Our 3day Tengger desert tour started from Yinchuan, the red lake had to be it's superhighlight😊 Well, you can compare real pictures (August) with the first one from the drone the tour guide shared (captured somewhen in spring) 😁 Still it was a superhighlight, though a bit (MUCH🤭) smaller than expected and overadvertised. The stop at the lake was a few hours (we had more time, as we rented camels to catch up with the rest of the group) The water and surface were extremely hot 🔥 Still recommend to have this great experience: not so many red lakes on the planet #redlake, #yinchuan #ningxia

Zhongwei’s Route 66@Ningxia Province

Location - At the junction of Gansu and Ningxia. A section of Zhongwei 308 Township Road connecting to Beichangtan Village. Attractions - Route 66 of Zhongwei, Ningxia has been a very popular “Instagrammable” place in recent years which attracts many young tourists to capture down the seemingly endless long stretch of straight road. An amazing road in Zhongwei ☀️

This is one of the most beautiful roads in the desert of Zhongwei. This desert is located in the west of Ningxia autonomous region. Took a trip out of the city to see China's northwest! Great way to spend the New Year holiday. Recommendations: 1. Desert Star Hotel (沙漠星星) it's about two hours from Yinchuan airport by high-speed rail and then taxi. Great sunrise views over the sand dunes! 2. Xipo Hostel in Shapotou. It has a very old west Americana vibe with an awesome little community. Also you can see parts of the old Great Wall 3. Route 66 … a 1km stretch of road that is very "instagrammable". Really only for the pictures, you can skip if it's not your thing. #newyearstrip #ningxia

Crystal Anniversary to us! First time to Taiwan and more to come. Went to almost all night markets in Taipei from open to closed. Tasted the Michelin food and they are great. Got to the top of Taipei 101 and the view is phenomenon. Walked through the streets and lanes like the locals. Enjoyed the sun and rain throughout the trip. Bought the nougat soda crackers.
