Weekend Escape from Dubai: Exploring the Charm of Nizwa
🕌 During a recent weekend road-trip from Dubai, I had the pleasure of exploring one of my favourites destinations in Oman: the charming city of Nizwa. Nestled in the heart of the country, Nizwa js rich in culture, history, and authentic experiences. Once the capital of Oman, Nizwa has long been a hub of trade, religion, and education, making it an important historical center. Nizwa is also renowned for its vibrant souk, known for its traditional silver jewellery, pottery, spices, and local produce, attracting visitors seeking a glimpse of authentic Omani culture. #historicallandmarks
🏨 We arrived late at night and checked into the Antique Inn, a unique and local hotel full of character. #hotelstay
☕️ The next morning, we started our day early with a visit to Anat Cafe, a new gem in the city. The coffee was exceptional, and the cozy atmosphere made it my favourite spot in Nizwa. #localguides #coffee
🚶🏼♀️After our coffee, we explored the city, starting with the iconic Nizwa Souk. Walking through the market was a sensory delight, from the bustling fish and meat sections to the aromatic spice stalls. The local craft and silver jewellery also make this a great spot for souvenirs. #historicculture
🥙 For lunch, we stopped at Shawathin Coffeeshop and Cafe mear the souk. I can confidently say it was the best shawarma I have ever had, and their smoothies were equally impressive - a must try when in Nizwa! #localfood #foodie
🌅 After lunch, we continued our road trip towards Muscat, arriving just in time for sunset. We stopped at the Crowne Plaza Muscat, which offers a restaurant and bar overlooking the sea. Sipping drinks while watching the sun dip below the horizon was the perfect way to end the day! #sunset
