Nice View From Bukit Tebuk 1936 Dungun

The work of pounding a hill in Kampung Nibong was carried out in 1932 by a mining company from Japan, Nippon Mining Company to be used as a tunnel. The purpose of the hill was to shorten the train journey that brought iron ore from Bukit Besi to Pangkalan Nibong. Before that, the activity of transporting iron ore by train from Bukit Besi only ended at the Dungun River at Che Lijah Base only before being put on the barge to be uploaded to the next ship to be exported abroad. The train journey to Nibong Village could not be continued because it was blocked by a hill there. Therefore, the work of pounding the hill needs to be made. Tunnel development was carried out by Nippon Mining Company staff with the help of local residents. This tunnel was successfully prepared in 1936 and named Bukit Tebuk. As soon as the tunnel is ready, the railway track is installed inside Bukit Tebuk to allow the train to carry iron ore from Bukit Besi through this tunnel directly to the ore base in Kampung Nibong. After mining activities in Bukit Besi were closed, this tunnel was no longer used as a railway route. In the tunnel, it was then paved by a highway to make it easier for the local community to use this route.

A long due review which I supposed to share some time ago. Extremely friendly reservation staffs. Very skillful speedboat driver (transferred us safely from Jetty to Taaras during a really high tide season). Monsoon lasted longer than expected. Therefore snorkeling activities were suspended, therefore couldn't swim with Jojo(s).
