Gifford Miller‘s Chinatown press conference on introducing service requirements into city schools didn’t contain much news, though it’s an interesting thread of the running debate over whether a limited core or an expansive set of requirements makes for a better education.
But it does give me an opportunity to plug the restaurant across the street where the press, with an Miller aide, adjourned for lunch. It’s an unpretentious Mott Street favorite, straight-facedly named Big Wong.
