Presumptive Democratic gubernatorial nominee Barbara Buono today grabbed the endorsement of the American Federation of State County and Municipal Employees during the union’s convention in Atlantic City.
AFSCME New Jersey represents more than 38,000 employees.
“Barbara Buono has made working families a top priority,” said Sherryl Gordon, executive director of AFSCME Council 1. “As Governor, she would continue this record and fight for the middle class.”
Buono already has received the endorsements of the Communications Workers of America and the New Jersey Education Association, giving her the backing of unions representing the bulk of the state’s public employees.
