H&M opted to shut down an entire section of the Miami Beach Edition last night to honor Alex Katz, the latest artist selected to collaborate with the fast fashion powerhouse. While a small section had been set aside to debut the wares on mannequins, it was the evening’s entertainer, Nelly Furtado, who modeled it best.

Rather than wear one of the modest blouses covered in Katz’s designs, Furtado created her own flowy frock from the scarves in the collection, citing the sweltering heat. “It’s hot as hell here,” she said as she took the stage. “It’s good for the vocal chords though. Keeps ’em open.” The crooner then proceeded to belt out her hits new and old, though she left many wanting more as she chose not to perform everyone’s favorite throwback hit, “Promiscuous Girl.”

Also in attendance were artists Daniel Arsham and illustrator Hannah Burch, DJ Heron Preston, Paper Magazine’s Drew Elliott, who is set to co-host the new season of America’s Next Top Model, and of course, Katz himself, who gleefully posed for photos with supermodel Karolina Kurkova, dressed to the nines in the artist’s own H&M goods.
