After a lengthy delay due to the WGA and SAG strikes, the 75th Emmy Awards are finally here. Now smack dab in the middle of awards season, the show honoring television’s brightest stars and biggest talents is sure to be a bit different this time around. For instance, the Golden Globes and the SAG Award nominations have shed some light on the night’s potential big winners, but that doesn’t mean viewers should expect a clean sweep for shows like Succession, The Bear, and Beef. As for a few already-announced winners, the Creative Arts Emmys saw Nick Offerman and Storm Reid win for Outstanding Guest Actor and Guest Actress in a Drama Series thanks to their work on The Last of Us, while Sam Richardson (Ted Lasso) and Judith Light (Poker Face) won trophies for their performances as Outstanding Guest Actor and Guest Actress in a Comedy Series. In other notable categories, Weird: The Al Yankovic Story took home the Emmy for Outstanding TV Movie, Queer Eye won for Outstanding Structured Reality Series, Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney’s Welcome to Wrexham secured the Emmy for Outstanding Unstructured Reality Series, and RuPaul was deemed the winner for Outstanding Host for a Reality or Competition Program.
