Alex Katz
Alex Katz, born in 1927 in Brooklyn, New York, is an American painter known for his large-scale, flat, and minimalist portraits and landscapes. A precursor to the Pop Art movement, Katz's work is characterized by its simplified depiction of figures and use of bold colors. He has exhibited extensively, including at the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Museum of Modern Art in New York, and the Guggenheim. Katz's style has influenced a generation of painters, and his works, such as "Ada Ada" (1959), have achieved significant recognition in the art market.
