Gunther Forg
Günther Förg (1952-2013) was a multifaceted German artist known for his diverse oeuvre that spanned painting, sculpture, photography, and graphic art. Emerging in the post-war era, Förg was part of a generation of artists who responded to the modernist traditions with a blend of criticality and reverence. His abstract paintings, often characterized by bold monochromatic surfaces and gestural strokes, were a nod to both Art Informel and American Abstract Expressionism. In addition to his paintings, Förg's architectural photographs displayed a sensitivity to space and structure, reflecting his deep engagement with architectural elements.
