Gustavo Díaz Ordaz
Gustavo Díaz Ordaz (1911–1979) was a Mexican politician and member of the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) who served as the President of Mexico from 1964 to 1970. Born in San Andrés Chalchicomula (present-day Ciudad Serdán), Puebla, Díaz Ordaz is often remembered for his administration's controversial role in the Tlatelolco massacre, where a student protest in Mexico City was violently suppressed in 1968, resulting in numerous deaths and injuries. His presidency was marked by economic stability and significant public works, but also by authoritarian practices and suppression of dissent.
