To overcome an eating disorder you will need to work on healing the underlying emotional pain that is feeding the eating disorder. This is usually experienced as an inner emptiness or feeling of helplessness or other form of depression. The behavioral reaction of binge eating can be viewed as an attempt to fill this inner void or an attempt to comfort your inner pain. Of course, the relief gained by eating is short-lived and not capable of filling that void or healing that inner pain, which in turn feeds the feelings of helplessness and leads to compulsive overeating.

Mindfulness Therapy teaches you how to work with your emotions directly to facilitate inner healing by building a strong relationship based on conscious awareness and compassion (mindfulness) with your emotions.

This is quite different than conventional “talk therapy” where you talk about your feelings, but is more akin to building a friendship where you cultivate a relationship by being present with your friend.

The emphasis is on “being present” and in food addiction and other forms of addiction this inner friendship is completely absent. Re-establishing this inner relationship with your emotions is key to healing and is essential for breaking the addiction cycle.

This approach is particularly effective and you can expect to experience noticeable reduction in the intensity of your anxiety or depression after 3-4 Skype sessions with me.

Online Mindfulness-based Skype Therapy is very effective for controlling anxiety and depression without the need for anti-anxiety medications and antidepressants. Treat the cause of your psychological suffering instead of just suppressing symptoms.

Everyone that I have worked with really likes the Mindfulness Therapy approach that I teach for healing emotional suffering…

“After 8 years, two therapists, many self-help books…..my hypochondria and OCD was worse than ever. I figured I would just have to live like this and deal with it. I put on a good show in front of people and cried alone. Then, I stumbled upon Peter’s website. I figured this was my last attempt. Peter is kind, understanding, and patient. He helped guide me out of the dark and see the light. He is truly there to help. He never looks at his time during sessions. I would have to remind him that time is up. His rates are reasonable so everyone cam get proper therapy. He gave me practical tools to use to overcome my anxiety. He is always available via email for advice. He truly cares about the progress of his patients. Peter changed my life and gave me the chance to enjoy my life again. I am eternally grateful to him.”

Online Therapist for Binge Eating Disorder & Bulimia

Welcome! My name is Peter Strong, and I am a professional online therapist specializing in Mindfulness Therapy for the treatment of a range of psychological and emotional problems, including food addiction. Mindfulness-based eating disorder treatment is very effective indeed. It helps you learn how to control the impulse to overeat. Basically, we develop a different relationship to the emotional impulses that compel us to overeat or for any other form of addiction for that matter.

We do this by applying mindfulness, we actually learn to meditate on those impulses to overeat and by doing this we can break the habit that compels us to overeat or indulge or binge eat against our better judgement.

So, if you are interested in learning more about mindfulness-based weight management and mindfulness-based treatment for overeating disorders, do please send me an email and then I can explain to you in more detail exactly how this works.

When you feel ready, you can schedule a therapy session with me using Skype and I will begin to teach you mindfulness-based methods for controlling the overeating impulses.

Most people who learn and apply the mindfulness-based approach that I teach will see quite dramatic improvements after relatively few sessions. Generally, I expect all my clients to see significant improvements after the first 3-4 sessions.

This is quite a different approach that talk therapy, it is really very much more focused and very much more practical. It is designed to help you break those habits that run your life, using the power of mindfulness, which is extremely effective indeed. So, I look forward to hearing from you and to help you learn how to apply mindfulness for reducing binge eating and overeating disorders in general.
