✨ Starting a New Year! ✨   As we step into another year, we reflect on the progress of our first carbon project, Green Gold Loreto 1 - GGL1. Covering 183,445 hectares, GGL1 continues to exemplify our commitment to sustainable change and forest conservation.   🌳 In 2024, GGL1 has proudly achieved verification under VERRA’s Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) and validation under the Climate, Community & Biodiversity (CCB) standard.   📃 Since 2020, we've worked hand-in-hand with 16 local #communities, advancing land titling to bolster economic independence, legal protections, and governance in their territories.   🌱 Together, we've achieved remarkable milestones, including: ✅ The implementation of 6 sustainable productive projects, ✅ 15 hectares of degraded land restored, ✅ Introduction of an environmental curriculum across 13 schools, ✅ Workshops on gender equality and health, ✅ Creation of over 700 local work opportunities, ✅ Contributions to 9 UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).   🌍 During the verified monitoring period, GGL1 reduced 773,000 tonnes of CO2e, equivalent to removing 168,000 cars from the roads!*   This year, we renew our commitment to conserving #Amazon forests, empowering indigenous communities, and protecting the vital ecosystem services that sustain us all. Through innovative approaches like carbon offsets, and non-timber forest products management, we proudly contribute to climate, community, and biodiversity goals aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals. 🎉 Green Gold Forestry Perú receives the "Bóscares Peru 2024" award for its contribution to forest sustainability! 🌳🏆 Under the slogan "Companies that sow a more sustainable future", Reforestamos México A.C. and their local strategic partner AIDER Perú presented us with this award in recognition of our work as a comprehensive, innovative, and inspiring business initiative with positive impacts on Peru's forests. Through our "Sustainable Management of Forest Concessions" initiative, supported by USAID and in partnership with the Federation of Native Communities of the Middle Napo (FECONAMN) and its member communities, we continue to work towards the sustainable development of local populations. RAÚL DANCÉ, our COO, received the award on behalf of the company, accompanied by Adme Aspajo, president of FECONAMN. Both emphasized the importance of considering and treating native communities as "true partners" in the sustainable management of the forest. Adme also highlighted how GGF's activities have driven the development of partner communities, ensuring land tenure and governance, developing productive projects, providing environmental education, and empowering indigenous women, thus contributing to a more sustainable future for the Amazon and its people. This award reaffirms our mission to preserve forests and improve the quality of life for those who depend on them.
