AIHO's Harvy Joy Liwanag, Ferlie Rose Ann Famaloan, Dr. Katherine Ann Reyes, Reiner Lorenzo Tamayo, together with Lynn Daryl Villamater, Renee Lynn Cabañero-Gasgonia, Annika Frahsa, and Pio Justin Asuncion, published a study on building A Conceptual Framework from the Philippines to Analyse Organisational Capacities for Health Policy and Systems Research. This study developed a self-assessment instrument around these attributes that HPSRIs could use to inform their respective organisational development and collectively discuss their shared challenges. #AIHO #GalingAIHO

ICYMI: Last May 31, 2024, the Alliance of Improving Health Outcomes Inc. and the Health Promotion Program, Institute of Clinical Epidemiology, National Institutes of Health, University of the Philippines Manila, in collaboration with the Department of Health conducted an online teaching session on strategic communication. Alliance for Improving Health Outcomes as a training partner of UNILAB Foundation conducted, Project Kaakbay: Kampus Kalusugan - Health Allies Training in Irosin, Sorsogon last May 21-22, 2024. The Health Allies Training is one of the program component or Project Kaakbay that gathered 200 students across Sorsogon Province. We are glad to announce that AIHO Partner Kim Sales has been selected as one of the Global Forum on Bioethics in Research (GFBR) Fellows for 2024! Supported by AIHO Consultant Lynnell Ong, this Fellowship builds on their 2023 GFBR case study and will dissect ethical considerations in research priority setting processes conducted by AIHO. With expert guidance from Dr. Soumyadeep Bhaumik (Head, Meta-research and Evidence Synthesis Unit, The George Institute for Global Health Australia), her Fellowship project will develop recommendations for better integration of ethics and equity in future research priority setting activities. The GFBR is a platform for exchanging expertise among researchers, policymakers, and ethicists, aiming to amplify LMIC perspectives in global health research ethics debates and promote collaboration. #AIHO #Health4People #GalingAIHO

Reimagining business and management for inclusive health ecosystem. Dr. Harvy Liwanag of Alliance for Improving Health Outcomes, Inc. (AIHO) will join the esteemed list of panelists for a webinar on Health Workforce Heterogeneity in LMICs - Conceptual and Practical Considerations. Dr. Liwanag is a global health specialist with an emphasis on research questions relevant to health systems strengthening in low- and middle-income countries, particularly in the Indo-Pacific region. His research is focused on interrogating concepts and analyzing mechanisms in health systems to promote better understanding that can influence changes in policy and practice.
