Lockdowns and protocols restricting movement reduced economic activity in most sectors, but not in e-commerce. Businesses adapted by offering their services online and consumers turned to the Internet to stock up on essentials and other needs, resulting in the most unprecedented growth for the digital economy. According to a 𝘴𝘵𝘶𝘥𝘺 𝘣𝘺 𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘪𝘢𝘭 𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘪𝘤𝘦𝘴 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘢𝘯𝘺 𝘝𝘪𝘴𝘢, close to nine out of 10 Filipinos purchased more online through apps and websites during the pandemic. Sales in the food and personal care category alone were up by a whopping 64.3% in 2020 compared to the previous year based on the 𝘥𝘪𝘨𝘪𝘵𝘢𝘭 2021 𝘳𝘦𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵 𝘣𝘺 𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘢𝘨𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘺 𝘞𝘦 𝘈𝘳𝘦 𝘚𝘰𝘤𝘪𝘢𝘭 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘴𝘰𝘤𝘪𝘢𝘭 𝘮𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘢 𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘢𝘨𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘮 𝘏𝘰𝘰𝘵𝘴𝘶𝘪𝘵𝘦. But while digital transformation has accelerated, obstacles still remain for the traditional brick-and-mortar stores. Given their unfamiliarity and inexperience in e-commerce, not to mention the costs related to putting up their own online selling platform, they face the pressures of keeping up with the significantly increasing demand for goods available online. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗠𝘆 𝗦𝘂𝗸𝗶? Working on the belief that e-commerce should be accessible to every retailer, My Suki was launched in 2019 with the goal of helping neighborhood retail stores facilitate pick-up and delivery services to sari-sari stores. It provides end-to-end services for the entire fulfillment process—from receiving orders to ensuring the accuracy of items ordered, and up to the actual distribution of goods. With My Suki, retailers can set up their own digital store in merely one to two weeks versus the six to eight months it takes to build an e-commerce platform from scratch. Since its inception, My Suki has helped stores like Super 8, Prince, Gaisano and more across the archipelago boost their revenues and reach their customers while dismantling the financial and logistical barriers of shifting to digital. 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗠𝘆 𝗦𝘂𝗸𝗶 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸? Retailers can start their e-commerce journey by signing up as a vendor here. Set up is made easy. They can get their own store code, allowing them to directly connect with their patrons without exorbitant operational costs and the disadvantages of price wars with competitors.
