Exciting progress is happening at The Reef Resort! Our very first 16m Hexafarm unit is coming to life, marking a significant milestone in our journey. With one unit already taking shape and a second on the way, those scattered black pipes will soon be joined together into a permanent floating neighborhood. Because of the massive size of the Hexafarm, we had to periodically push the structure into the water as we assembled it. This series of images and videos captures its gradual journey closer to the water as it took shape. Stay tuned for more updates, and be sure to follow us to join this incredible adventure!

Last November, we successfully towed our first Hexafarm structure from Puntalinao, Davao, to Kaputian, Samal Island, the future home of the Reef Resort. During transportation, some components, such as the Glamphouse and the nets beneath it for fish farming, were temporarily removed. These are now being reinstalled and improved, with additional Glamphouses being added to the structure. This marks a significant milestone as we move closer to unveiling the Hexafarm with multiple Glamphouses, bringing us one step closer to the opening of the Reef Resort.

The ArkPad-C, 100% powered by a PV system, shines brightly every night in the middle of the ocean! From LED lights that illuminate the structure to powering indoor lights, portable Wi-Fi, and charging needs for the staff, the PV system ensures everything runs smoothly—even in the heart of the sea.

ArkPad-C: Built to Withstand the Storm Last October 24, 2024, a severe tropical storm hit Aklan, bringing strong winds and heavy rain that caused damage to vehicles and buildings in the area. Despite these challenging conditions, ArkPad-C, our floating house, stood firm in the middle of the sea without any damage. This shows how proper engineering and design can create safe and livable spaces, even in extreme weather. Floating homes like ArkPad-C are not only innovative but also practical solutions for disaster-prone areas.

Exciting progress at the worksite! The HDPE pipes have arrived and are ready for assembly. These durable, high-quality pipes will form the foundation of two new Hexafarms, an integral part of the Reef Resort. Designed with sustainability and innovation in mind, the Hexafarms will contribute to a unique and eco-friendly experience, blending aquaculture with relaxation. Stay tuned as we bring this vision to life, one step at a time!

Fast forward to today, and innovation has made seasteading a whole lot easier. Structures can be made much cheaper while the blockchain can help manage these communities. Seasteading has been around since the 1960s with mixed success. Some sea-based structures have been destroyed (Republic of Minerva) while the Principality of Sealand, off the coast of England, has now been deemed to be in British territory. Seasteading is a fascinating idea, and one that dates back to the mavericks of the 1960s. Building a floating structure in international waters, out of the remit of government control sounds very appealing and has been made easier thanks to new designs and the blockchain. Mitchell Suchner, founder of ArkPad gave me some great insights in an interview with The Crypto Radio. #seasteading #blockchain
