Hotel Fukudaya

I had to write an exam in Tokyo at Temple University (Japan campus). I specifically looked for a hotel that was conveniently located for me to take the exam early in the morning. I picked Hotel Fukudaya for the convenience but was wow'd overall. The people working at the reception were all very friendly. I speak Japanese so check-in was pretty smooth but I saw a lot of other foreigners and they could generally communicate in English with them. My room was quite small with tatami floor. I had a large window and my own private access to a toilet. Didn't have a shower in my room, but had access to a bath (you lock it so you have sole access for that period of time). It was pretty cold in Tokyo at that time but the air conditioner heated the (small) room just fine. There are no elevators but they will help you with your luggage if you are staying on the upper floor. They held onto my luggage after I checked out and I came back for it later. I only had them hold onto it for a few hours, but I believe they can hold onto it for even a few days. Can't imagine having to stay here again since it's not the most convenient for tourists and I won't be needing to take the exam again. You have to walk quite a distance from the nearest JR station (uphill too). But it was a very comfortable stay.
Hotel Mid in Meguro Ekimae

About 2 minutes walk from J R Meguro Station, there are many restaurants and convenience stores around, and there is no need to say the location conditions! A business hotel with outstanding cost performance that exceeds the average point in terms of facilities and employees! I think I will stay here again next time I visit Tokyo!

Ueno/Asakusa
Stayed in Room 305, a 3 Persons Private Room. PROS: The location in Asakusa was fantastic - a 4-minute walk to Tawaramachi Station, a 6-minute walk to Sensō-Ji Temple, and best of all, only a 4-minute walk to SEIYU in Asakusa ROX which is where you should go at night for discounted food! There is free tea, coffee, and water in the lobby 24/7 and the front desk provides one free mask per day. They provide shampoo, conditioner, and body soap. You can ask for toothbrushes and razors at the front desk for free. There is a communal bathroom and kitchen on the 6th floor, which you are welcome to use. Staff was very friendly and building was secured at night. CONS: The Wifi was very weak in the room, but worked okay in the lobby. The water from the shower leaks onto the bathroom floor so be sure to wear flip flops! The bed frames were a bit dusty and the view from the window was not great, but we cannot complain for the price we paid.

Hotel Hoshi Kai Kan

Tokyo Station/Nihonbashi
The front desk is very friendly, the hotel is located in the clothing wholesale mall take the elevator to the 5th floor; after 10:30pm, lift close, to walk the stairs to the 5th floor of the hotel; This hotel has a very startling experience, starting at 6:30 in the morning there are sounds of new history all around, there is the sound of Abel singing, there is the sound of ********, there is the sound of opening/locking the door, asking you to have to Listen, and can not sleep, wooden walls are not soundproof! There is no water in the bathing pool, there is only one women's public bath with a bathroom, the flesh and white face bathing; one experience is enough!

Tokyo Station/Nihonbashi
First so travel experience, and this was honestly quite good. The bathrooms were clean (aside from some hair here and there, but it’s a women’s hostel what do you expect) and cleaned daily, and the Wi-Fi was very fast. Got super dark in each pod which was perfect, and even in the summer, it wasn’t too hot (despite it saying there’s no AC there are some small units that keep the area a good temperature). I wish check in hours were a little more flexible especially considering that there’s no staff there anyway? But overall really good (close to many subway lines) and I would stay again for sure!!
