[2025 Bangkok Stay] Travel Guide for The Athenee Hotel, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Bangkok (Updated Jan)

I flew to Bangkok to celebrate Songkran Festival and stayed at my usual happy place,The Athenee. This is my first visit to Bangkok and to Athenee post Covid but I was greeted with usual warm welcome by the staff. I also got my usual upgrade being a Bonvoy Member and got access to their luxurious facilities. The hotel was quite busy than usual due to the Festival, but that did not take away the high touch treatment they give to the guests like myself. Athenee was renovated since my last visit but one can stoll enjoy the usual luxury of a spacious bedroom with white comfortable linens, the Lagoon pool and Spa at the fourth floor, the Executive Lounge for members, and the choices of good food from their Breakfast at Rain Tree and other dining options. Athenee remains one of my favorite hotel in Bangkok. #myperfectstaycation

#Booking a Luxury Hotel The Athenee Hotel, a Luxury Collection Hotel, lives up to its name with a distinct Thai and international style and theme that truly makes it unique. We booked at a promotional rate and after traveling together, we ended up paying around 1,500-1,700 baht for a long 10-night stay 🤣. The room included in this promotion is the "Athenee Guest Room," decorated in a Thai-Colonial style, with a room size of 38 sq.m which, to be honest, is quite small 😂. However, the luxurious decorations throughout the room, coupled with the high-quality amenities and bedding, make up for the small size, earning a 10/10 rating from us. This remains one one of favorite hotels to stay whenever I am in Bangkok. Good location, nice facilities, and very good service. Address - 61 Wireless Rd, Lumphini, Pathum Wan, Bangkok 10330, Thailand Ambiance/Facilities - Luxury, High-End and Classy. They have the club lounge, with a very nice pool and a very good breakfast buffet. Easy upgrades for Bonvoy status. Highlights - I love their "Titanic" stairs. Location is perfect. Walking distance from Lumphini Park and Silom. Best thing is they serve breakfast early. I tried coming back to the hotel early morning after a night out and they served a wide variety of food. Avg. The Silk Road restaurant in the hotel also offers authentic Chinese cuisine, with the roast duck being particularly delicious. 🍜 🏙️🌐 In addition to the hotel's facilities and services, the surrounding environment is also a pleasant surprise. #Dinner One of the hotel dinner buffets in Bangkok that we always think of when there is a special occasion is Rain Tree Cafe, The Athenee Hotel, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Bangkok. The buffet menu here is quite diverse, from seafood menus, steamed crabs, tiger prawns, oysters, mussels, scallops. There is a Japanese food station serving sushi and sashimi. Salmon is fresh and very delicious. There is Chinese food such as dim sum, both dumplings and steamed buns. There is Indian food such as various types of curry eaten with naan bread. In addition, there is a variety of Thai food. The taste is definitely suitable for Thai people. Next, there is a pasta station and a dessert zone that is very impressive. There are both Thai and international dessert menus, cakes, cookies, homemade ice cream in many flavors. Guaranteed to be delicious and impressive for everyone in the family.

Tried a different Bonvoy spot for this short trip and no regrets! ❤️ Heard about this property for so long and finally stepping foot inside the lobby was a great start to my 2nights here 🍀 My NUA was denied so BOO but the Royal Guest Room was actually more than sufficient for 2pax especially with its comfy bed and rather spotless space. The welcome amenity was generous, the laundry inclusion a godsend, and the hotel experiences for in-house was so fun ✌🏻 The Royal Club was a fantastic hideout with more than sufficient food & drinks to cover all our meals ending each day with copious amount of alcohol to soothe our tired bodies. Service was awesome with everyone attentive and ever so ready to help. 🎊 This more expensive Bonvoy property in Bangkok certainly did not disappoint and I can recommend for sure esp for elites 👑 A superb deal booked on HoteLux!

We received a warm welcome from the staff and enjoyed a lovely welcome drink in the lounge while checking in. Every element of the decoration and design made us feel warmly welcomed. You cannot miss breakfast here - there are so many choices available. Above all, we loved the room we stayed in - the scent of jasmine, the luxurious living space, the clean bathroom, and the comfortable bed. We will definitely come back here again. The service here is amazing! Everyone is really kind. The hotel is very nice, and the breakfast was excellent. We really enjoyed our stay here. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. My husband and I were celebrating our honeymoon, and the staff welcomed us with a cake and balloons in our room. The room was clean, and it had the most comfortable bed/pillows I have ever experienced in a hotel. The breakfast buffet was also a highlight. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone in Bangkok.

The Athenee Hotel Bangkok, a luxury collection is a well-situated hotel near to the BTS and also major malls. Its approximately 3 minutes walk to the nearest station Phloen Chit. The hotel is built on the grounds of the palace of Princess Valaya Alongkorn, daughter of King Rama V. The two big curve stairway greets the guest upon entering. It's majestic and so breathtaking. While checking in, drinks were served. Was allocated the club room on the club lounge level. Room is big and well stocked. It is also decorated with Thai heritage throughout the whole room. Bathtub wasn't big and fits one person just nice. #hotelreview

Athena's location is great, within 1 kilometer walking distance to the Erawan Shrine, and just 5 minutes away from Central Embassy on the opposite side, where the famous Somboon curry crab is located!! There's also a popular coconut ice dessert! The hotel organizes its own activities, and I highly recommend the "Voyage of the Royal Roots" and "Floral Tour". The former takes you on a tour of the hotel, telling the history of the hotel, visiting the royal suites, and finally preparing traditional Thai royal costumes for you to take photos in, haha, make sure to book in advance. The latter teaches you how to fold lotus flowers into sachets. We made three sachets and I brought them all back, and they still smell great after two weeks. The service experience is super great, and the price-performance ratio is also very high. It costs 400 baht including highway tolls to take a taxi directly from the hotel to the airport. It takes about 40 minutes and costs 130 baht to get to the Grand Palace, which may be slightly congested. The taxi ride back from Iconsiam is also congested. Finally, I recommend the somboon curry crab and the popular coconut ice at Central Embassy across the street. [smirking]
