Kanchanaburi Private Car Day Tour
Private car day tour, 12 hours with a nanny car: 4700 THB. The travel agency can assist with reservations and payment of restaurant deposits, as well as booking the zoo and giraffe photo session. After the tour, we tipped the driver 200 THB.
09:00 Depart from the hotel in the city
10:00 Bubble in the forest
A deposit of 200 THB per person, which can be deducted from the meal amount. When we arrived, there were already many people in line at the entrance. It's a truly Instagram-worthy cafe, perfect for photos. There are many seating areas, and we chose to sit outdoors, though it was extremely hot.
Dishes: Shrimp cakes, stir-fried noodles, basil pork, and curry soft-shell crab. The flavors were quite good, and we all enjoyed them.
13:30 The Bridge on the River Kwai
Initially, we didn't understand the significance of this attraction. After some research, we learned that it has historical importance. During World War II, the Japanese army occupied Thailand and Burma and spent 17 months building this railway with prisoners of war, connecting Thailand and Burma.
At the entrance, there are many stalls selling food, drinks, clothes, hats, and souvenirs. Including photo time, about half an hour is enough to visit.
15:00 Kanchanaburi Wildlife Sanctuary
Kanchanaburi Zoo + Giraffe Photo Session, 1550 THB per person. We booked the giraffe photo session for 15:00. We arrived early, so we took the park tour bus first. Before boarding, you can buy carrots, 100 THB for two baskets. When the bus reaches the animal area, it will stop, and you can open the windows to feed the animals. Along the way, there are antelope, tigers, lions, leopards, giraffes, zebras, and camels. Before entering the tiger, lion, and leopard areas, the driver will ensure all windows are closed to prevent any danger. You cannot open the windows during this part of the tour.
After the tour, it's time for the giraffe photo session! The staff will help take photos and videos. They provide two baskets of carrots, and when the carrots are finished, the photo session ends. We took photos together, and the staff took many shots and videos for us. We ended up with thousands of photos in about 10 minutes.
The last stop: The Village Farm to Cafe
We arrived around 4 PM. No reservation was needed. The exterior is barn-style, and the interior is spacious with many seats. There are many green plants and large floor-to-ceiling windows, giving a forest-like feel.
Dishes: Melon turtle pineapple bread, which was a bit dry. Another dish was Tom Yum Kung omelet rice, which tasted quite good.
