we arrived around 10am and were fortunate enough to be allowed early check-in. desk guy was nice, and was able to speak english. we needed the rest after a grueling red-eye. i was unaware of how far out the place was from most of what we were there to see. this resulted in spending enough money on Lyft to afford a ”swankier” place further into the city. my bad. after a brief rest, we met some family and walked around alot. the new target down the block closes at 9, so when we got back to the room around 930pm, we were unable to get supplies for the room, & had to stop at a gas station to get a few things. this is NOT a neighborhood to go walking at night. we were approached a few times, but never threatened, still didnt feel comfortable on the street. the room itself was reasonably clean, & there were no bugs that i could see. beds were firm, and there were mostly feather pillows. 3 per bed. there were multiple ”dings” in the place...beginning with the corners, the walls, and at least 2 pretty serious marks on the tub that had broken the enamel off. a fair bit of the caulking was pulled loose from both the tub and the wall. i was dissapointed to see the back of the dressing vanity was raw plywood. didnt expect that. there was a decent armoire for hanging clothes, with storage cubbies on the side. to the left of that was a reasobly large dresser with enough drawer space to handle what we had brought. immediately above the dresser was a huge flatscreen tv that, while impressive, was far to big for the space. after a bit, we figured out the remote. left of the dresser/tv was a desk & chair. under the right side of which was a 3-legged refrigerator with platic top that kept coming off. above that there was a microwave that proved useful, on top of which was a single cup coffee maker that worked nicely for tea. the furniture overall, seemed repurposed from another motel. most of it didnt match, and looked pretty used. the floor was reasonably clean

The staff is amazing. It was raining one night while walking to dinner and the front desk gave me her own personal umbrella to use. Our flight was cancelled and booking an extra night stay was very easy and the staff was so accommodating. The rooms were great too. There is no view, but the layout of the rooms are pretty great and quiet. The ”06” rooms are the best in the hotel and I would request this room on any floor. The location is a block from metro stations. Also walking distance to white house and many restaurants. Would definitely stay here again.

I was staying at the Holiday Inn for a business trip. Overall, it was a good stay. I had one of the higher up corner rooms which had a fantastic view up the street and to the West so I got to see the sunset (07 room). I was in an accessible room so the bathroom was quite large and had a tub. Double queen with extra chair and ottoman and a tiny narrow desk that barely fit my laptop. There was a microwave, mini-fridge, safe that fit my laptop, and a k-cup coffee maker. I did not like the wardrobe as the space for hanging was very short meaning that my dresses and long clothes got folded up at the bottom, plus it was on the lower level (for accessibility I believe). Breakfast was included and had the standard variety (eggs, sausage, pancakes, fruit, etc.). I tried once but on other days we had breakfast at work. There is a lot of construction going on in the neighborhood. It didn't bother me since I was up when it started (7 am) and the windows blocked enough of the noise so that it wasn't too bad. I noticed it a bit more in the afternoon when I was trying to work. The area is alright but it is fairly close to Chinatown (5-10 min walk) so I could see the need to be careful late at night if on your own. The staff was very friendly, somewhat to the point of being too friendly for New England me, but overall very nice and helpful. Everything was extremely clean and in working order - although it took me a bit to figure out the lights. Short walk to the National Gallery and Mall. About a 15-20 minute walk to Union Station.

It's good, but the accommodation without an outlet near the bed is hairy and I saw it for the first time. It looks like a capsule bed, but it's actually a little bit of a carelessness. Good value for money

We found our room to be very clean and comfortable. The air conditioner worked great. The shower had good pressure but it did take a while for the water to warm up. The hotel is located in a comfortable neighborhood and an easy walk to the Metro subway. We found several restaurants nearby with various choices of food. Overall we felt that we got a pretty nice room for the price.

The staff was the main reason why I came back there for an extra night after an two-night stay. The very affordable rate, also was a great incentive. The staff went out of their way to deal with my unpredictable work schedule, agreed to cancel a booking without any fees, and they matched (even lowered) a price I had seen on a booking website. Go there!!! Also, the Logan Circle area is very nice, 14th street has great restaurants.
Motel 6 Washington, DC - Convention Center

1) Called DC Convention Center Motel 6 despite beIng nowhere near DC Convention Center. You WILL get lost trying to find it. 2) Advertises as having free, high-speed internet—which was pleasing as I expected to have quite a bit of down time in the room in which to get work done. The internet connection was nonexistent—it didn’t maintain for more than 90 seconds at a time for the entire two days I’ve been here. Wasn’t able to do any work whatsoever. 3) Room had clearly not been cleaned prior to my arrival—there was still feces on the toilet bowl when I first used it. Also, whenever the toilet flushes, there is a incredibly loud, sustained noise for 2-3 min after that I’m shocked didn’t wake any other guests. 4) There’s a flat screen tv but no tv remote. 5) Office attendant barely acknowledged me and didn’t bother to tell me roughly where my room was—just expected me to look until I found it. I didn’t spend a lot, so I suppose one gets what one pays for, but I’ve stayed in hostels in the city for half this price and experienced far better quality.

Capitol Hill
This youth hostel is very good. It is very close to the Capitol, the White House and other travel destinations. It takes 15-20 minutes to walk there. It is convenient to get in and out. The interior of the hostel is clean and tidy, and the hygienic conditions are good. If you want to go again in the future, you should still book here. Like 👍 Hygiene: good. Good environment. good service. Hygiene: good.
Windsor Inn Hotel

Dupont Circle
My girlfriend and I decided to spend Valentine's Weekend in DC and were looking for a relaxed hotel-the Windsor Inn was the perfect location! The check-in staff were frienhdly and efficient, and gave us excellent suggestions for local nightlife (U Street!!) and breakfast (Ted's Bulletin, go early!), and the hotel itself is close to Dupont Circle Metro, with accompanying restaurants. But then disaster struck; on the coldest DC weekend in several years, our room heater malfunctioned and we absolutely froze on Fri night. When asking the staff Saturday morning if we could change rooms, they immediately agreed and within minutes we were moved to a lovely room on the 2nd floor. Their effusive and genuine apologies later included a lovely note from management that ensured the matter was resolved. Windsor Inn is simply a quietly elegant old-style hotel staffed by a professional and client-friendly staff. We;'ll be returning this summer; we highly recommend the Windsor Inn!!

Downtown Washington
Had a fab time staying at this hostel. Met some great new people and enjoyed seeing the city together. Location is excellent to see downtown DC. I travelled in and out of Union Station on foot (40 min walk) and felt safe. My dorm was fine. Simple but comfy bunk, locker for my gear (bring a lock) and easy access to shared bathrooms. Wifi in my dorm was non-existent but it worked great in the reception and just sitting on the brownstone stoop outside. Communal breakfast was simple, fresh cooked choc chip pancakes and coffee (all I needed) and all the prep areas you need if you wanna fetch your own food (great cheap supermarket next door). Lots of nice people to chat to on the days I stayed. Nice outdoor terrace to eat too.
