💢 Accidental Overhiring: 𝗠𝘆 𝗝𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘆 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝘂𝗹𝘁-𝗣𝗿𝗶𝘇𝗲 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁.
as the 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘀 𝗖𝗼-𝗗𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 for Hult Prize, I, alongside the Campus Director Muhammad Awais Ishfaq. we embarked on a mission to 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗮 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺 for the upcoming Hult Prize Event. Little did we know, this journey would be a rollercoaster of trials and triumphs.
𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗵𝘂𝗿𝗱𝗹𝗲? Accidental Overhiring. Eager to assemble a team, we cast our net wide, but soon found ourselves with more members than we could accommodate. With heavy hearts, we had to 𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘇𝗲 the team. It was a tough decision but one we had to make.
Yet, we made a 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗶𝘀𝗲 to those we had to let go – they would be the first ones we'd turn to for any 𝘂𝗽𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 future endeavors and events. After all, we had already interviewed them, so we knew they were talented and passionate.
🗣️ 𝗖͟𝗼͟𝗺͟𝗺͟𝘂͟𝗻͟𝗶͟𝗰͟𝗮͟𝘁͟𝗶͟𝗼͟𝗻͟ ͟𝘄͟𝗮͟𝘀͟ ͟𝗞͟𝗲͟𝘆͟:
With our 𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗱, we started conducting weekly meetings, trying to keep everyone 𝘂𝗽-𝘁𝗼-𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲.
We divided responsibilities and delegated tasks thoughtfully, ensuring 𝗻𝗼 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗳𝗲𝗹𝘁 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗺𝗲𝗱. Each member had a role to play, and things wouldn't have worked the same without them.
🔍 𝗢͟𝘂͟𝘁͟𝗿͟𝗲͟𝗮͟𝗰͟𝗵͟ ͟𝗮͟𝗻͟𝗱͟ ͟𝗚͟𝗮͟𝘁͟𝗵͟𝗲͟𝗿͟𝗶͟𝗻͟𝗴͟ ͟𝗣͟𝗮͟𝗿͟𝘁͟𝗶͟𝗰͟𝗶͟𝗽͟𝗮͟𝗻͟𝘁͟𝘀͟.:
Through targeted advertising and 𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗲𝗳𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀, we spread the word and Teams began to approach us, each one bringing a 𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 to the table.
📅 𝗧͟𝗵͟𝗲͟ ͟𝗗͟𝗮͟𝘆͟ ͟𝗼͟𝗳͟ ͟𝘁͟𝗵͟𝗲͟ ͟𝗘͟𝘃͟𝗲͟𝗻͟𝘁͟:͟
Finally, after months of hard work and dedication, the day arrived.
The event went 𝘀𝗺𝗼𝗼𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝘀 𝗯𝘂𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿. Each participant presenting their ideas to the judges, hoping to win the 𝟭 𝗠𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗗𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝘇𝗲. After careful evaluation, the judges declared 𝟯 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀 of the Hult Prize competition. They were 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗹𝗱𝘀 and 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗱 to the next round for their accomplishment.
🏆 As prizes were awarded and certificates distributed, I felt a swell of pride for what we had accomplished together.

From talent acquisition to event management and from word wizardry to hosting duties – I wore many hats throughout this experience. It was fun.
As I look ahead, I am eager for more opportunities like this – challenges to overcome, lessons to learn, and moments to cherish.
