🌱 Exciting News from Agrilift! 🌱 We are thrilled to announce the official launch of our Soil Analysis and R&D Laboratory, inaugurated by the U.S. Ambassador Donald Blome, alongside U.S. Consul General Kristin Hawkins, during their recent visit to Lahore. We were joined on this special occasion by our strategic partners from FFC, National Foods Limited, Engro Fertilizers Ltd, and HBL. Special thanks to our strategy advisor Mr. Abrar Hasan for accompanying us for the inauguration ceremony. Commenting on the occasion, Jawwad Hasan, CEO of Agrilift, remarked, “At Agrilift, our mission is to turn data into higher yield, empowering farmers to produce more sustainably through AI-driven interventions. The support we've received from USAID IPA has allowed us to expand our efforts and set up the Agrilift Soil Analysis and R&D Laboratory. 🌟 Had an incredible time at the USAID IPA Roadshows in New York & San Francisco! 🌟 It was a fantastic opportunity to engage with some of the most influential yet humble leaders in the US tech sector, including Zain Jeewanjee, Faysal Sohail, Naeem Zafar, Jauher Zaidi and Sajid Sohail. Their passion and drive for innovation are truly inspiring! The energy at these events has given me a renewed sense of purpose. It reinforced Agrilift's mission to lead the way in AI-enabled precision farming to improve crop yields and enhance farmer profitability. We’re excited about the potential for new partnerships — more to come on that soon! Agriculture remains one of the most digitally neglected sectors in the global economy, but solving its challenges holds the power to uplift the ecosystem around it. Today, more than 750 million people face hunger, making food insecurity one of the most urgent global issues. To produce high-quality rice, it's essential to start with quality paddy, which in turn depends on meticulous crop management from start to finish. The process begins with selecting pure, high-quality seeds and continues with adhering to Best Crop Management Practices (BCMPs) throughout the crop’s life cycle. Proper care during the growing phase ensures that the paddy develops optimally. Harvesting with a specialized, high-quality rice harvester further enhances the yield by maintaining the integrity, quantity, and quality of the grains. This careful harvesting also reduces losses, minimizes broken grains, and eliminates impurities such as dirt, inert matter, trash, and straw. I was reflecting on my experiences with implementing quality rice harvesting initiatives (campaigns with the Basmati growing smallholders' communities) such as using rice-specific harvesters and installing quality kits in combine harvesters. These efforts led to successful harvests of pure Basmati variety blocks and seed multiplication plots, ultimately resulting in higher rice and seed recoveries.
