Director General of Licensing, Amer Shahzad, announced at the National Broadband Network Forum 2024—organized by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) in collaboration with Huawei—that the 5G spectrum auction is expected to take place in April 2025, marking a significant milestone for the country. He also noted the plan to raise the average broadband speed from the current 15 Mbps to between 50 and 100 Mbps.
