When I was asked to develop the Public Policy Programs strategy for Pakistan, education was on the top of my agenda. If there is one platform that can democratise learning at an incredible scale it is TikTok. 6 months ago I met the wonderful team at Edkasa Fahad Tanveer Annum Sadiq thanks to Kalsoom Lakhani. The pieces started to fall into place for a program that would really help us understand best practices for desimminating education via short video format. Im stoked to announce that TikTok has partnered with Edkasa and the School of Education at LUMS to make Pakistan #ExamReady. Geared towards 10 million high school students across Pakistan, #ExamReady will facilitate online education and independent learning. Over the course of this year long partnership - Edkasa will develop 500 educational videos focused on Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics as well as exam hacks. With the aim to help 5 million learners get access to quality education. And who better to advise us on teaching methodologies and lead monitoring and evaluation than the School of Education team at Lahore University of Management Sciences with Dr. Faisal Bari at the helm. Thank you to my friend and mentor Ali Naseer who connected me to Dr.Bari. Annum Sadiq is a co-founder and the Chief Education Officer at Edkasa, an innovative education technology company established in 2017. Annum brings a wealth of experience to her role, having worked for over a decade in education policy both within Pakistan and internationally. She has been involved with major education reform initiatives like the Punjab Education Sector Reform Programme (PESRP), where she served as a consultant for The World Bank. Her work has also taken her to the U.S., where she gained hands-on experience in the Chelsea Public Schools District and worked with USAID. Her academic and professional accolades further bolster her expertise. She was awarded the prestigious Fulbright Scholarship in 2016, which allowed her to pursue advanced studies and research in education. Under Annum's leadership, Edkasa has expanded its services to thousands of students, with a focus on leveraging technology to improve learning outcomes.
