Legal ID Pakistan
Non-profit Organizations
Promote opportunities, not migration. Pakistan to make a mark on the international stage. Let's explore opportunities
About us
Legal ID Pakistan is a dedicated non-governmental organisation committed to the welfare of migrants and the relentless fight against human trafficking. Established with the vision of creating a just and equitable society, we recognize the urgent need to address the complex challenges faced by emigrants, particularly those vulnerable to exploitation and trafficking. Our mission is threefold: Education and Awareness: We aim to inform communities about the realities of human trafficking and the risks associated with irregular migration. Through workshops, seminars, and outreach programs, we empower individuals with knowledge that can help them make informed decisions. Stakeholder Engagement: We provide a platform for various stakeholders—including government bodies, civil society organisations, and private sector representatives—to come together and share insights, experiences, and best practices. By fostering collaboration, we aim to build a comprehensive approach to combating human trafficking and supporting migrants. Legislative Advocacy: We actively encourage legislators to introduce and support policies that combat human trafficking and regulate immigration and emigration advice. By advocating for sound legislation, we strive to protect the rights of migrants and establish safeguards against exploitation. Through our initiatives, Legal ID Pakistan seeks to create a society where all individuals can live with dignity and freedom from fear, regardless of their migratory status. Together, we can challenge the injustices migrants face and build a brighter future for all.

Immigration and Emigration Laws in Pakistan Pakistan's immigration and emigration laws govern the movement of individuals into and out of the country. These laws aim to regulate foreign nationals' entry, residence, and employment in Pakistan, as well as the emigration of Pakistani citizens for work or other purposes abroad. Key Legislation: The Immigration Ordinance, 1979: Regulates the entry, stay, and exit of foreign nationals in Pakistan. Sets conditions for obtaining visas, residence permits, and work permits. Enforces penalties for illegal entry, overstaying, or violating visa terms. Includes provisions for deportation and blacklisting of offenders. The Emigration Ordinance, 1979: Governs the emigration of Pakistani citizens, particularly for employment abroad. Requires citizens seeking overseas employment to register with the Bureau of Emigration and Overseas Employment. Protects workers by regulating recruiting agents and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations. Includes measures to curb human trafficking and illegal migration. The Passport Act, 1974: Regulates the issuance, renewal, and confiscation of Pakistani passports. Defines penalties for misuse or falsification of travel documents. The Prevention and Control of Human Trafficking Ordinance, 2002: Criminalizes trafficking in persons and associated activities. Provides protection for victims and mandates prosecution of offenders. Key Immigration Policies: Foreign nationals must have a valid visa for entry, issued for purposes such as tourism, business, work, or study. Special visa policies exist for investors and expatriates of Pakistani origin. Citizens of certain countries benefit from visa-on-arrival or visa-free entry agreements. Emigration Regulations: Emigration is controlled to prevent exploitation of workers and ensure proper documentation. Overseas employment promoters must be licensed and adhere to strict recruitment guidelines. The government collaborates with host countries to ensure the rights and welfare of Pakistani workers abroad. Challenges and Enforcement: Illegal immigration, particularly from neighbouring countries like Afghanistan and Iran, poses a challenge. Human trafficking and smuggling networks continue to undermine legal frameworks. Enforcement agencies like the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) oversee compliance and combat irregular migration.
